2011-12 HDC Conference Softball Tournament Bethany, Missouri


Games will be played at Bethany, MO on September 9-10, 2011 Fridays games will be played on 3 different fields: Field A-Memorial Park, Field B-Linch Field, and Field C-Babe Adams. All fields are located in Bethany Memorial Park (southwest of the High School). Bus parking will be in the Babe Adams parking lotalong the west side in a line. Each game will be played with a 1- hour time limit EXCEPT the Championship game. Line-ups and pre-game meetings should be conducted prior to game time. Teams should be ready to begin play upon the conclusion of the previous game. No warm-up on the fields between games.

Upon expiration of the time limit, the next inning will be started using international tie-breaking rules (the last out from the previous inning starts on second base). Not used in the Championship games.
Run rules- 15 after 3, 12 after 4, 10 after 5 (12 after 4 is currently Tournament only). Higher seeded team will be the home team in all games except the Championship game, which will use a coin toss. Home team will be the official scorebook and provide an ADULT scorekeeper. Umpires will be contracted by the Umpire in Chief (or host school AD) and paid from gate receipts. The host school will also schedule gatekeepers for both days of the tournament. Host school will be a rotation of conference schools (that dont host in basketball): North Daviess 11-12, Newtown-Harris 12-13, Cainsville 13-14, Ridgeway 14-15, North Daviess 15-16 Each team will provide 1 new game ball for every game played in the tournament. We will be using optic-yellow softballs. Concession stands will be provided by Bethany Parks and Rec. Umpires fees, admissions and gatekeepers fees will be determined by the Tournament Director. Each school will need to submit a pass list to the host school of players, coaches, administrators, spouses, and faculty supervisors. No other passes will be honored (including HDC passes). Admission for each day of the tournament will be $4.00 for adults and $2.00 for school age children. Admission price will be good for the entire day. Admission fees will pay for tournament expenses (umpires, gatekeepers, fields, trophies).

DIRECTIONS TO MEMORIAL PARK (3 fields- Memorial, Linch, Babe Adams) EXIT I-35 AT THE MCDONALDS EXIT--HEAD WEST (TAKE LEFT IF COMING FROM THE SOUTH). TAKE A RIGHT AT THE FIRST STOPLIGHT BY DAIRY QUEEN (IT'S AN OUTER ROAD THAT RUNS PARALLEL TO THE INTERSTATE). THE ROAD WILL INITIALLY RUN NORTH AND THEN TURN LEFT AND HEAD WEST. GO TO THE END OF THAT ROAD (YOU WILL SEE THE PARK THROUGH THE TREELINE NEAR THE END OF THE ROAD), BUT YOU WILL HAVE TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN AT THE END OF THAT ROAD AND THE VERY NEXT RIGHT WHICH WILL BE THE PARK ENTRANCE. FOLLOW THE PATH TO THE BALL PARK. MEMORIAL PARK IS THE FIRST ONE THAT YOU WILL SEE.
