SUBMITTED BY: RITUL JHANWAR 09110032 B.ARCH 3RD YEAR

Community centres are public locations where members of a community tend to gather for group activities, social support, public information, and other purposes. They may sometimes be open for the whole community or for a specialised group within the greater community. Examples of community centres for specific groups include: Christian community centres, Islamic community centres, Jewish community centres, youth clubs etc. A Community Centre is a place where people of a particular area meet for conducting various activities which will be beneficial for uplifting the society. This Community Centre can be either started in a (1) Small Apartment, (2) OR A Building.

Overall
The Community Centre should be designed and built as a multifunctional and fle ible facility Rene able energy sources should be included in the design to facilitate a zero net energy cost for heating, power and lighting The design needs to take into account the e posed nature of the site and the associated severe weather conditions

ENV RONMEN AL FEA URE :

To reduce the need for mechanical ventilation and air conditioning, the foyer and the recreation hall areas are naturally ventilated through cross ventilation and large fenestrations. The main hall and internal spaces, such as changing rooms and toilets, are mechanically ventilated too. Natural light is utilised by e tensive glazing and supplemented by energy efficient electrical lights. The materials used in the project will be carefully chosen to reduce environmental impact by evaluating them for recycled content, regional availability, rapid renewability, and durability.
