Stress analysis of piping systems, including static and dynamic loadings.

Application of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III, Flaw and fitness-for-service evaluation Fatigue analysis Piping vibration analysis and mitigation Stress analysis of mechanical components Documentation of the above in the appropriate QA records Job Experience A minimum of three (3) years experience performing pipe stress or related design analysis is required. BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Structural preferred) from an accredited college/university or program or PE license is required. Nuclear industry design analysis experience is preferred. Specific requirements and preferences include: Required: Functional knowledge in piping stress analysis principles and techniques. Functional knowledge of piping analysis software. Functional knowledge of formal calculation documentation processes. Working knowledge of B31.1 and/or ASME Class 2/3 piping codes. Working knowledge of piping design. Position has the potential for up to 25% of travel to our nuclear plant sites in Southeast US to support plant needs, collect field data (walk downs) and/or interface with plant clients. Preferred: Functional knowledge of piping analysis considerations unique to the nuclear power industry, including dynamic phenomena such as seismic, water hammer, etc. Functional knowledge of calculation and design control requirements applicable to the nuclear power industry. Functional knowledge of ME101 pipe stress software. Working knowledge of general finite element analysis methods and software, preferably ANSYS. Working knowledge of pressure vessel design and analysis. Behavioral Attributes Holds self to highest moral/ethical standards. Ability to apply sound logic to solve problems and make rational engineering judgments based on experience and proper application of industry practices, in order to provide timely and appropriate resolutions to piping stress analysis, design and qualification issues specific to nuclear generating plants. ngineering registration. Masters degree in Mechanical or Civil engineering. Experience as Reviewer and design verifier for ASME class I, II, and III piping analysis. Experience on analysis and preparing stress reports for ASME class I piping.
