Senior 55+ Program -This Wednesday, August 17 at 2 PM in the Fellowship Hall Relative Harmony, Jake & Phyllis Van Den Hul and Carol Patch are our entertainment for the afternoon. They primarily sing Southern Gospel, but present a program including hymns and old favorites. See you there! Invite a friend! Jr. GAP needs YOU! We are looking for help in a variety of ways this year: 1. Share your story! We want to hear how you have encountered God in your life. Come share with us on Wednesday nights, and your story can take 5 minutes to tell or even 25 minutes! We're flexible! Talk to Tracy if you're willing to share with us. 2. Couches needed! We are looking for 2 couches that are GENTLY used that we could keep. (No promises that they will stay gently-used!) 3. Sponsor a meal! We will be packaging meals with Kids Against Hunger during a Mobile Food Packing Event. We are hoping to package 12,000 meals that will be sent around the world to starving kids. Each meal only costs a quarter! Would you be willing to sponsor a meal, or two, or ten, or more? We need to raise $3,000 before our service project on October 29 in Omaha. Thanks, in advance, for your support! And hats off to the bus drivers of MRC we have enough drivers lined up for Wednesday nights to cover the ENTIRE SCHOOL YEAR! Way to go, and THANK YOU! NEEDED! A teacher or co-teacher for a 3-year old Sunday School Class. Contact Steph Feenstra or Amanda Dykstra if you would like to volunteer.

From Pastor Don and Sue... If you drive over to Alton to see where we live please do ring our doorbell and say, Hi. Coming up this fall - Wednesday night meals! The meals will be served two times a month and we need more HELP. Please contact Rachel Van Klompenburg if interested in helping out with this ministry.
The Banquet - We are serving the evening meal at The Banquet in Sioux Falls on Monday, August 29. We will be serving 575 people that night! There are signup sheets for 6-8 volunteers to help prepare the meal, leaving church with the food at 2 PM and 36 more volunteers to help serve the meal, leaving church in the bus by 3:45 PM. We will serve a BBQ hamburger on a bun with potato chips and bananas or oranges. There are sign-up sheets for the food donations needed. We need 900 hamburger patties, 53 bags of potato chips and 48 dozen each of bananas & oranges and 13 #10 cans of baked beans. We also need monetary help to purchase things like buns, plus a donation for their milk fund which the Banquet supplies! Prayerfully consider how you can help this year as we serve at The Banquet! Thank you -from the mission team, Jerry Vermeer

COMING UP August 21 - Professions of faith - Anyone desiring to make profession of their faith in Christ, is invited to meet with the elders next Sunday at 10:45 AM in the Conference room.
Consistory Nominations Are Coming The kind of people we need on consistory are those who will seek God about what He wants at our church. Who do you know women or men who you know will seek God? Please be praying about who to nominate to the offices of elder and deacon. Men of the Church: We are planning to do a Men's Fraternity study entitled "The Great Adventure" this year. The study will begin in late September and end in March with breaks for Thanksgiving and Easter. If you are interested in attending please contact Alan Muilenburg, 712-441-3112 or alsautomaurice@yahoo.com for more information.
