HISTORY:
Teletalk Bangladesh Limited is a public limited company, registered under the Registrar of the Joint stock companies of Bangladesh. Total shares owned by the Government of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh. We continue to grow and engage our customers through our clear commitment to offering high quality products and services as well as leading customer retention and loyalty programmers. Teletalk continues to be a part of the revolution thats connecting millions of Bangladeshi people and around the world. Teletalk Bangladesh limited was established keeping a specific role in mind. Teletalk has forged ahead and strengthened its path over the years and achieved some feats truly to be proud of, as the only Bangladeshi mobile operator and the only operator with 100% native technical and engineering human resource base, Teletalk thrives to become the true peoples phone Amader Phone. Basic objectives for which the Company was formed are highlighted here under: To provide mobile telephone service to the people from the public sector To ensure fair competition between public and private sectors and thereby to safeguard public interest To meet a portion of unmitigated high demand of mobile telephone To create a new source of revenue for the government.
Incorporation of Teletalk: Teletalk Bangladesh Limited (the Company) was incorporated on 26 December, 2004 as a public limited company under the Companies Act, 1994 with an authorized capital of Tk.20,000,000,000 being the only government sponsored mobile telephone company in the country. On the same day the Company obtained Certificate of Commencement of Business.
Companys Network Expansion: Teletalk Bangladesh Limited has continually expanded its network, to better accommodate its growing customer base as well as to keep the promise of providing better service. As of now, Teletalk has already established its network foothold in 64 Districts, 402 Upazilas, and most of the highways. Teletalk is continuing its network expansion to reach more corners of Bangladesh.

SERVICES/PRODUCTS:
Teletalk offers a wide range of services to its customers. Following are an outline of the services presently available with Teletalk:
GPRS
Teletalk offers internet browsing facility for both post-paid and pre-paid subscribers. One can use this facility by using data-cable in computer also. Handsets with GPRS option enable this facility. Through Teletalk GPRS, the subscribers can use the facilities like browsing, email, internet chatting, data transfer etc.
Push-pull services
Like ordinary SMS, one can receive answer to a question s/he asks. By using this push-pull service, one can have the latest updates of important cricket matches. Besides, other important information like weather forecast, prayer time, quotes, horoscopes and especially sehri-iftar timing during ramadhan are also available.
SMS
An SMS of 160 characters each available both in English and Bangla.
Voice SMS
Teletalk has introduced "Voice SMS" service for it customers to send voice message.
LATEST ACHIEVEMENT:
1. Implemented SMS Based Exam Result publications for SSC, HSC 2. Implemented University Admission Process for public Universities 3. Implemented Web based Result Publications for of Education Boards, Public University Admission, National University, Technical Education, Non Government Teachers Registration, NTRC and etc. 4. Implemented Email Exam Result: Email based result publications 5. Implemented SMS Based Result ReScrutiny: SMSC based re-scrutiny service for SSC and HSC examinees. 6. Implemented Online Registration System for SSC and HSC candidates. 7. Implemented Website Management for 10 education boards. 8. Implemented eTicketing for Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novo Theatre 9. Medical Service (eHealth). 10. Web & SMS Based Job Application for NTRC. 11. Utility Bill Payment for BTCL subscribers. 12. Disaster Management: In active participation of Teletalk, Disaster Management Bureau has initiated a pilot project for notifying Early Warning and Disaster Management Information Dissemination Service. 13. Signed of a commercial contract with CMEC for implementing a project titled Introduction of 3G technology and Expansion of Teletalk Network within December 2012. With this Chinese govt financing project, Teletalks will be expanded for another 65 lakh both 2.5G and 3G subscribers around the country. 14. Digital PURGE management: In the direction of A2I, Teletalk successfully deliver the services for the farmer of sugarcane under the pilot project. 15. Network Expansion: In last two years, Teletalk has expanded its network of more than 10 lakhs subscribers by deploying 390 BTS and 14.5 lakhs core capacity.
