We know how important it is for you and your family to make the decision to have you study overseas. You are making an excellent choice in choosing us - Seneca is more than an education. We have over 160 programs to choose from. Please go to the link below to read about your future career. This will also determine the start date for you to study at Seneca. You should apply for programs at least 3-4 months before your start date in order to allow enough time to process your study permit.

*IMPORTANT CHANGE FOR SEPTEMBER 2012 APPLICATIONS: *Please be advised that effective Sept. 2012, the IELTS requirement will be 6.0 for diploma programs. Students applying for admissions effective September 2012, or who have their admissions deferred from Jan./May 2012 to Sept. 2012 will be required to have an IELTS score of 6.0 with no individual score less than 5.5.

TOEFL / IELTS / CAEL EXEMPTIONS The following applicants are exempt from submitting TOEFL/IELTS/CAEL scores:

1. International students who completed a minimum of two years of full-time secondary or college level education in one of the countries where English is an official or the only language of common usage (check with International Admissions if your country is listed on our ESL exemption list). 2. International students who obtain an International Baccalaureate in English from one of the International Schools' members of the Council of International Schools ( www.cois.org). 3. International students who received a passing score on the CAAT administered at Seneca College (students physically present in Canada who wish to take the CAAT should call International Admissions for more information). All other students must submit their valid TOEFL/IELTS/CAEL scores to International Admissions. Only tests taken in the last 2 years are considered valid. Students applying from India: The Canadian High Commission which governs Study Permit applications under SPP (Student Partners Program) requires a CURRENT (within the last year) IELTS score with a minimum score of 6.0 (for diploma programs) with no individual score less than 5.5 and an IELTS score of 6.5 (for post graduate programs) with no individual score less than 6.0. Selection of applicants from India, will be based on the combination of good academic performance and strong IELTS scores, so having above minimum IELTS scores, is always preferable. NO PROOF OF ENGLISH REQUIRED Students who completed their high school education in one of the countries listed below are deemed exempt from TOEFL/IELTS:
Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, Botswana, British Virgin Islands, Canada (all provinces except Quebec), Cayman Islands, Dominica, Fiji, Gambia, Ghana, Grenada, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, Kenya, Kiribati, Liberia, Marshal Islands, Mauritius, Micronesia, New Zealand, Nigeria, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & The Grenadines, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, South Africa, Tanzania, Trinidad & Tobago, Uganda, United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales), USA, Zambia, Zimbabwe. 3 APPLYING TO SENECA

Complete the International Student Application Form, available online at www.studyatseneca.ca. Click 'How to Apply' on the left side menu. 1. Click on the Register button at the bottom of the page or Click on International Application *NEW* button at the left side column. 2. Fill out all the required fields (marked with a *). If you leave any of the required fields blank, the system will give you an error message when you attempt to submit your application. 3. Once you complete the form, click Submit button. If there are no errors on the page, you will see a summary of your application and you will be asked to confirm the information you submitted. 4. Click Confirm. The next display will contain your confirmation number. You will be asked to PRINT your application. Print TWO copies. 5. Sign one copy of your application and attach your academic records, IELTS score (if required), and proof of non-refundable application fee payment. A COMPLETED application contains ALL required documents (as stated above). It is the sole responsibility of the student and/or the authorized Seneca Educational Consultant to send us fully completed applications. Due to the increased volume of applications received, International Admissions is temporarily suspending acceptance of scanned documents via e-mail. Please send your documents by fax (416492-9243) or mail. Please make sure you quote your confirmation number whenever you contact the College.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I APPLY?


AFTER YOU SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION In order to process and assess your records properly, Seneca requires up to 4-8 weeks to review your application. If you have not heard from Seneca after one month, please contact our International Admissions (416-491-5050, ext. 2364) Office directly with your application confirmation number and they will check your application status. NOTE: only completed applications will be processed. IMPORTANT: If your chosen program has a preadmission test/portfolio or other pre-admission requirements needing Academic Faculty assessment, please allow 6-8 weeks from date of submission for this Faculty assessment to take place. If accepted, you will receive our Letter of Acceptance along with our invoice. This offer is time sensitive and must be confirmed with a payment before the expiry date (located on the top right hand of the Letter of Acceptance). You must confirm your attendance by paying the first semester tuition fee. STUDY PERMIT In order to study in Canada, you will require a Study Permit. To apply for your Study Permit you will need to provide the Seneca Letter of Acceptance and your tuition fee receipt from your bank wire transfer showing payment for at least one semester of fees). Please check the requirements to obtain the study permit from Canadian Embassy in your country. Canadian Immigration: www.cic.gc.ca

Application Check-List
Check to make sure you have all of the following: $65 non-refundable application fee (credit card, international money order). Your academic record (translated into English) or Certified copies. For High School Graduates: - Grade 10, 11, 12 Original or Certified copies of your original High School Transcripts - final 3 years of your high school education. - Copy of your High School Diploma or Certificate of Completion. For Graduate Programs: - University/College transcripts showing your academics for 3+ years. - Resume (if applicable). - Original or Certified copies of your original High School Transcripts. - Copy of your High School Diploma and University/College Diploma Proof of ESL (IELTS / TOEFL) (if required). Copy of Signed Application Form.
