BJSS INTERNATIONAL COMBINED EVENTS CHAMPIONSHIP 2011

(BJSS ICE CHAMPIONSHIP)


COMPETITION RULES & REGULATIONS
1. The competition is being held under a Special Combined Events Rules especially designed for this competition. Date of competition: 26 & 27 NOVEMBER 2011. The competition is for the athletes who are born in the year of 1997 (14 YEARS OLD) and 1998 (13 YEARS OLD) only. The competition consists of: 4.1. Individual 4.2. Team 4.3. Medley Relay Number of competitors allowed are: Gender 13 years old 14 years old 5.1. Boys 4 4 5.2. Girls 4 4 Number of officials allowed are 3 (1 Manager + 2 Coaches) of which 1 must be female. The Competition shall be held at the Malaysian National Sports Council s, Training Track which is situated at Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur. The Competition shall be held on: 8.1. 26 November 2011 (Saturday)/Session 1 (8.00 am to 12.00 noon) 8.2. 26 November 2011 (Saturday)/Session 2 (2.30 pm to 6.00 pm) 8.3. 27 November 2011 (Sunday)/Session 3 (8.00 am to 12.00 noon) 8.4. 27 November 2011 (Sunday)/Session 4 (2.30 pm to 6.00 pm) Events to be competed for both age groups are as follow: 9.1. PENTATHLON (5 events) for the 13 years old group. 9.1.1. 80m Hurdles, 9.1.2. Long Jump, 9.1.3. 800m, 9.1.4. Shot Put, and 9.1.5. High Jump

The specifications for the Hurdles event (Boys and Girls) for both age group (13 & 14 years old) are: 13 years old 14 years old 12.1. Number of Hurdles : 8 hurdles 10 hurdles 12.2. Heights of the Hurdles : 0.762m 0.762m 12.3. Distance from the start line to the first hurdle : 12 meters 13.00m 12.4. Distance between the Hurdles : 8 meters 8.50m 12.5. Distance from the last Hurdle to the finish : 12 meters 10.50m The specifications for the Shot Put event for both age group (13 & 14 years old) are: 13.1. Boys 4 kg. 13.2. Girls 3 kg.

COMPETITION RULES 14.1. The BJSS International Combined Events Championship which might not be similar to IAAF standards shall be carried out based on the rules set by the Organizing Committee. Any other matters arising can be decided during the Managers Meeting. 14.2. The Combined Event Championship will be carried out as Individual and Team categories for both age groups (13 & 14 years old) for both the events. 14.3. All participants (4 in each team) MUST compete in all the 5 events (PENTATHLON) and 6 events (HEXATHLON) for both the boys and girls categories for the both age groups. 14.4. At least 30 minutes of rest shall be given in between events. 14.5. The organizing committee has the privilege of deciding the competing order for each event. 14.6. In the 100m, 80m/100m Hurdles, 800m and the 1500m events, each competitor will only be required to run once. 14.7. In the Long Jump and the Shot Put events, each competitor will be given only 3 attempts. 14.8. The High Jump event will follow the standard competition procedures. The starting height for the boys (1.30m) and the girls (1.10m). These set heights will be discussed during the Managers Meeting. 14.9. Points will be given for the best effort by the competitor in each event based on the Combined Event Score Table (will be provided). 14.10. The Competitor who scores the highest overall points will be declared the winner. If there is a tie, the competitor who has the higher score in most events shall be declared the winner among those who tie.

TEAM COMPETITION 15.1. There shall be 4 Team Categories: Two for the 13 years old (4 Boys & 4 Girls) and Two for the 14 years old (4 Boys & 4 Girls). 15.2. Each team MUST be represented in both the age groups (13 & 14 years old-Boys & Girls) categories of the championship.

15.3. Every member of the team MUST compete in all the 5 events (PENTATHLON) and 6 events (HEXATHLON). In case of a member is unable to complete all the 5 or 6 events, only the points from the completed events are considered. 16. RULES OF THE MEDLEY RELAY 16.1. Each team MUST also field One 13 years old and One 14 years old team. 16.2. Each team will consist of 4 runners. 16.3. Each team will run the Medley Relay only once, in their respective predetermined heats (2 heats-if there are more than 8 teams). The winner will be the team with the fastest time clocked. 16.4. The order of runners for the Medley Relay will be as follows: 16.4.1. 1st leg: 100m (girl). 16.4.2. 2nd leg: 200m (boy). 16.4.3. 3rd leg: 300m (girl). 16.4.4. 4th leg: 400m (boy). (Note: The first two legs are run in lanes and for the third leg runners must remain within the lanes until the break line at the beginning of the back straight. From this point onwards, runners may leave their respective lanes) 17. PRIZES (Trophy, Medals and Certificates) 17.1. All participants will be awarded with Certificate of Participation. 17.2. Prizes will be given to both boys and girls categories for both age groups and for both events (PENTATHLON & HEXATHLON). 17.3. Individual Category 17.3.1. PENTATHLON : Boys: 1st to 10th placing (Medals). Girls: 1st to 10th placing (Medals). 17.3.2. HEXATHLON 17.4. Team Category 17.4.1. PENTATHLON : Boys: 1st to 10th placing (Medals). Girls: 1st to 10th placing (Medals). : Boys: 1st to 3rd placing (Medals). Girls: 1st to 3rd placing (Medals). : Boys: 1st to 3rd placing (Medals). Girls: 1st to 3rd placing (Medals).

MANAGERS MEETING 18.1. The Managers Meeting will be held on 25 November 2011 (5pm) at Bukit Jalil Sports School (BJSS) Olympic Meeting Room. 18.2. Decisions taken during the Managers Meeting regarding the Championship will be final. 18.3. Any matter not provided for shall be referred to the appointed Technical Delegate who shall decide on the matter or refer to the Organizing Committee whose decision shall be final. TIMING Full automatic timing and photo finish equipment shall be used to record the official timing for the track events only. PROTEST 20.1. All protest must be submitted to the Referee by the Team Manager only. 20.2. All protest must be lodged within 30 minutes of the respective events. 20.3. If conditions causing a potential protest are noted prior to a competition, the protest must be lodged before the signal to start of an event is given. 20.4. The Referee shall consider all protest. The Team Manager may appeal to the Jury of Appeal against the Referee s decision. The decision of the Jury of Appeal is final. 20.5. The Jury of Appeal shall comprise a Chairman, who is Meet Manager. The other members will comprise of the Technical Chairman of Malaysian School Sports Council s (MSSM) Technical Chairman, The Malaysian Sports Council Representative plus two Team Managers from each participating team except for the team involved in the protest.
