History
Illinois Institute of Technology is a Ph.D. granting private research university, with world-renowned programs in engineering, architecture, the sciences, humanities, psychology, business, law, and design. Tracing its roots back to the 1890s with the foundings of Armour Institute of Technology and Lewis Institute, IIT brings a focused, interdisciplinary approach to education. This includes the Inter professional Projects Program (IPRO). With five campuses throughout the Chicago area and alumni around the world, IIT pairs the educational and cultural experiences of America's Second City with the small feel of an undergraduate population of just over 2300 and total population of just over 7400.

Established in 1997, Illinois Institute of Technology (India) Private Limited (IIT Chicago in India), has been serving the Indian community as part of IIT Chicagos Social Responsibility programs for India. This is a wholly owned subsidiary of Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago IIT Chicago started its Indian operation with a view to providing Professional Masters, Master of Science Degree programs and also related Certificate programs in various Engineering faculties to Indian citizens by leveraging technology and increasing affordability. Ideal Student Profile

You are an Engineering Graduate with a first class Graduation should be for a minimum period of four years You are already working in a company. You are a fresh graduate and you want to look out a cost effective option compared to on campus Masters program in America. You have a minimum GRE score of 900 or are confident of scoring the desired GRE score. Actual GRE score requirement varies depending on the program chosen. For Certification programs there are no GRE Requirements You have lot of drive and energy and want to scale new heights. Internally motivated Students whose accredited B.E / B.Tech degree is not in appropriate branch of engineering may pursue the above mentioned Master Degree, provided that they have an adequate background and can demonstrate proficiency in such courses.

Degree Students
Any student pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Science, or Professional Master's degree is considered a regular degree-seeking student. A degree-seeking student is one who at the time of application fulfills the requisite documents viz-a-viz Degree certificate, Complete markcards, Completed GRE see the perquisite, Letter of recommendation & Professional statement.
Application
A completed application and supporting documents must be received by the deadline for consideration as a regular degree-seeking student. Applicant must possess First class (60%) in each semester in RELATED BRANCH of Undergraduate B E / B Tech program, or MCA or M.Sc (CS, IT, Electronics). TOEFL IS NOT REQUIRED.

Professional Statement
Your professional statement may be submitted (a) as part of the online application process or handover the same to your nearest centre as a paper copy along with the above documents. Your statement should be written in essay format and should not exceed 1000 words. It should include discussion of your reasons for pursuing graduate study, your academic background, your research interests (if applicable), relevant professional experience or related accomplishments to date, and your career goals.

Non-degree Students
The student have applied for a degree program at IIT but are unable to complete the application requirements before the deadline may be eligible to begin studies as a non-degree student. (Student without GRE, Final semesters NOT COPMLTETED) Applicant must possess First class (60%) in each semester in RELATED BRANCH of Undergraduate B E / B Tech program, or MCA or M.Sc (CS, IT, Electronics). TOEFL IS NOT REQUIRED
Requirements
Completed application Official Transcripts as attested by University authorities/ Principal of College studied in (Only semester wise Individual mark sheets are accepted- Consolidated mark sheet will not be accepted. Admission: Non-degree students must apply for admission as regular graduate students prior to the commencement OF SECOND SEMESTER. Changing to degree-seeking status: Non-degree students seeking to convert to degree-seeking status must complete a regular application and request admission to a degree program prior to the commencement of second semester. If a non-degree student applies for and is granted admission to a degree program, and passed with a grade of "B" or better may be applied to the degree. Credit transfer: Eligible coursework completed by non-degree students, pre-approved by the academic unit (up to nine credit hours of courses passed with a grade of "B" or better), may be applicable toward a graduate degree at IIT.

A certificate student is a student who submitted an application for admission as a certificate student, was admitted by the Office of Graduate and Professional Enrollment for a specific certificate program, and registered as a certificate student at IIT.

GRE Requirements
The university minimum Graduate Record Examination (GRE) score is 900 (quantitative + verbal) and 2.5 (analytical writing). Individual departments may require higher scores for admission (see chart below). GRE requirements are subject to change, please contact your nearest centre for the most up-to-date information. The Office of Graduate and Professional Enrollment requires official scores sent directly to IIT by the Educational Testing Service (ETS). Please ask ETS to send your scores to institution code 1318. No department code is required.

Yes, upon giving a prior intimation this can be done.

What about Lab?

At Masters level you are required to do projects at conceptual level using Computer and Simulation Kits. A licensed version of specific software pre-requites would be made available to a student.
How about the books?

Book specified by the teacher is made available to the student in our library. Student may also access the online library at Campus in Chicago.
How to interact with the teacher?

Students interact with teachers through Conference calls, mail/telephone, chat sessions etc.
Can I redo an exam at a later date?

You cannot change exam schedule without Teachers permission. If you miss the exams you miss the weight age.
I am onsite how do I take up my exams?

Identify a proctor i.e. a person from HR/PR/Trg whose details have to be relayed to us at least a week before your exams. On the day of exams the Question paper would be faxed /mailed to Proctor with necessary instructions.
Can I get access to specific software to do my Projects?

Yes, If a Specific software is required like Mat lab or pro E, for a project, the licensed full version of the same is provided by IIT.
How do I choose my courses?

An academic advisor would discuss the same with you and clarify your issues.
Is it in any way dependent to my company?

No, admission is given to the individual based on his/her academic performance etc.
What is the tuition fee for India section?

For latest tuition fee Contact any one of the nearest centre.
I intend doing a professional masters, Can I pay for the whole program at one single go?
No, Tuition fee is paid as and when you take a course, hence typically for professional masters of 10 courses you would have to pay in 10 installments.
Can I get a loan?

As a working professionals nationalized banks would give you personal loan only.
How can I pay the Tuition fee?

Tuition fee can be paid on line, Money/wire transfer or by DD favoring Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago payable at Chicago.
When should the tuition fee be paid?

For Fall semester, the tuition fee before the commencement of the classes i.e by mid August. The fee to be paid is determined by the courses/ credits one opts. For Spring the Tuition fee is payable by mid Jan.
Is there any other fee payable apart from Tuition fee?

No, apart from Tuition fee students in India section would not be paying anything extra.
