Open to all Victorian schools, the Quest Awards give young people the opportunity to explore, express and celebrate Victorias cultural diversity through a range of media such as art, design, digital media and writing. With awards for students, teachers, schools and school clusters, the Quest underlines that Cultural Diversity is everyones business. Entry is open to all Victorian schools and their students in the following media :

THE CULTURAL DIVERSITY QUEST IS A FLAGSHIP EVENT OF CULTURAL DIVERSITY WEEK, HELD ANNUALLY IN VICTORIA DURING MARCH AND COINCIDING WITH THE UNITED NATIONS DAY FOR THE ELIMINATION OF RACISM.

Cultural Diversity Quest 2012

SCHOOLS ARE INVITED TO ENTER WORK THAT DEMONSTRATES STUDENTS UNDERSTANDING AND APPRECIATION OF VICTORIAS CULTURAL DIVERSITY.

AIM ELIGIBILITY QUEST ENTRY

To provide an opportunity to showcase work or explore new themes in a school or community. Entry is open to all Victorian school students from Prep to Year 12, and teachers and school clusters. Entries can be accepted in one of the following mediums: Text, Visual Arts or Multimedia. Prizes will be awarded in these categories: Early Years (P-2) Group entries only Early Years (3-4) Group entries only Middle Years (5-6) Group and individual entries Middle Years (7-9) Group and individual entries Later Years (10-12) Individual entries only Teachers should use a broad range of resources for the Quest including: Languages and Multicultural Education Resource Centre (LMERC) www.education.vic.gov.au/studentlearning/programs/lmerc/ Victorian Multicultural Commission website www.multicultural.vic.gov.au Making multicultural Australia website www.multiculturalaustralia.edu.au Racism No Way website www.racismnoway.com.au Human Rights Education website www.humanrights.gov.au/education/index.html Quest links to VELS have been mapped see www.education.vic.gov.au/about/events/quest/default.htm Studies of Asia website www.education.vic.gov.au/studentlearning/programs/studyasia/default.htm STUDENT AWARDS Prizes will be awarded for winning entries at each level of schooling: SCHOOL AWARDS The School and Community Partnership Award will go to the school that has the best partnership with their local community to foster cultural awareness and celebrate diversity. Immigration Museum Award will be made for the best entry linked to the Museums school visit activities. School Cluster Awards will be presented to the school cluster which is working together to promote social cohesion in their community. TEACHER AWARDS Winners will each receive two tickets to the Premiers Cultural Diversity Week Gala Dinner in March 2012. All winners will be acknowledged at an Awards ceremony presentation.
