Printing Services GmbH is the latest inkjet alternative to
all existing coding technologies. As a result of the consequent
further development of the Thermal Inkjet Technology the
application areas of this technology which is wellknown as
absolutely clean and reliable, could be considerably enlarged
with the apsolute printer.
apsolute is a unique industrial mono-fluid multi-head print

for easy reproduction of the settings. There are no hand
wheels on these lines. If requested by the customer, lines
with semi-automatic controls (combination of hand wheels
with recipe control) can still be delivered
+ Sanitation:
The sanitation has been improved in such a way that the
line can be readily used by HACCP certified customers.
This is achieved by a combination of the materials used
and a functional design.
+ Maintenance:
Low maintenance and service costs as heavy duty materials
and construction are used, for example: replaceable wear
surfaces on gauge rollers, use of self tracking, endless belts
and where possible streamlined electrical and pneumatic
systems.
+ The look (aesthetical aspects):
Without compromising on the functionality and the sani
tation, machines have been modernized and have a modern
look.
++ DFE Meincke
The body shape has been up-graded and is made from full
stainless steel sheeting. The biggest changes and improve
ments have been made to the technical intestines of the ma
chines.
The result is fascinating; a reduction of parts and huge im
provements to techniques, hygiene and cleaning properties.
All these factors result in operator friendliness, production
efficiency and a hygiene upturn. Horizontal surfaces and
seams are avoided where possible. Underneath the machines,
there is a wide bottom clearance allowing easy access.

Domino Printing Sciences
Hall 15, Stand B02
Domino Printing Sciences plc, a world-leader in total cod
ing, marking, printing, traceability and RFID solutions, will
showcase its most innovative products for primary, second
ary and tertiary coding at interpack 2008, including three
additions to its C-Series plus range of outer case coders, a
linerless version of its M-Series print & apply labeller and a
new laser coding range, the D-Series plus.
At interpack, Domino will launch an enhanced range of C-
Series plus outer case coders, which offers double the print
performance and double the speed of any competing prod
uct. The new range is designed to address market demand
for coding alphanumeric and graphical information on high
speed lines such as those in the food and beverage industry
with a solution that can achieve a print resolution of 180
dpi at up to 60 metres per minute. Each new model also
boasts a clearer and more intuitive user interface, high-speed
communications and faster Ethernet connectivity for easier

integration by both end users and OEMs and the lowest
power consumption of any outer case coder on the market.
Also new is the C6000+ adjacent side coder, a revolution
ary product that likewise responds to long term market
demands for more efficient use of both equipment and
production floor space, particularly in the food sector. The
demand for supply chain traceability in high volume re
tailing, wholesale and food service means that cases need
to be coded, a need that until now, could only be met by
complex installations involving multiple coding stations
and turntables.
++ Domino Printing Sciences
The patent-applied-for C6000+ adjacent side coder utilis
es a single printer to code onto two adjacent side of a case,
thereby reducing capital investment, impact in the work
area and operational complexity.
The trend towards shelf-ready packaging for greater effi
ciency in high volume retailing of products such as food,
beverages, wines and spirits has stimulated demand for
printing on substrates with more shelf appeal than stand
ard, uncoated cartonboard. interpack will be the launch
platform for Dominos solution to this challenge the
C6000+ coated case. This novel system is the first on the
market to deliver in line, high quality, high speed printing
onto coated substrates with a semi- or non-porous finish,
combining a tangible contribution to overall equipment
effectiveness with significant waste reduction. Based on
exclusive Domino technology that incorporates self-clean-
ing and capping technology for the inkjet nozzles, the
C6000+ coated case guarantees the highest print quality at
all times.
End-of-line innovations to be launched at interpack are
not confined to the C-Series: Dominos M-Series range of
print and apply labellers is also set to create a stir with the
launch of a linerless model the M500 that responds to
waste reduction and productivity improvement targets in
equal measure. In the simplest terms, the elimination of
backing for the self-adhesive labels means that waste is
radically reduced and the labeller can run for twice as

long between roll changes. But the contribution to supply
chain efficiency goes much further: Domino has partnered
with materials suppliers to develop a specialised substrate
that is compatible with case material from a recycling per
spective, so that contamination of reclaimed materials is
avoided without any prior sorting being required.
Domino will also use interpack to showcase the next genera
tion of its acclaimed line-up of laser coding systems, the D-
Series plus. Boasting a choice of 10-, 30- and 55-watt lasers,
the D-Series plus builds on the Domino reputation for qual
ity and reliability in high-end coding applications in the
food, beverage, pharma and cosmetics sectors. Key features of
the range are a new modular construction, new browser
based control software plus an Ethernet interface to stand
ardise connectivity with host machines.
The controller box and Ethernet web server are housed in a
single enclosure compatible with 19-inch industrial rack
systems. Ethernet connectivity means that the user interface
can be integrated via the main control panel of the host ma
chine for OEM installations or for retrofits, an additional
Domino colour touchscreen panel can be supplied.
The system software offers a familiar user-friendly browser
operator environment and in terms of robustness, all data is
now stored within compact flash memory, thereby eliminat
ing the need for moving components such as hard drives
and for an uninterrupted power supply, which again reduces
the complexity of installation.

Efficiencies inherent in conveyor belt systems are widely rec
ognized in manufacturing and general materials handling
operations where products move seemlessly through process
ing steps to final packaging and shipment. However, damage
and loss can occur when delicate and/or small footprint
products such as confectioneries, unbaked and baked goods
such as potato chips, cookies, crackers, croissants and petit
fours, are transferred between conveyor systems. Damage
and loss occurs when such products become pinched, fall
between or sag into the clearance space between adjoining
belts or accumulate, bumping together, on dead plates. In the
latter instance, there is also loss of controlled spacing, which
can adversely impact on sorting, counting and packaging.
The Habasit Group will present a modular belt with the
smallest pitch ever seen on the market at interpack in Dssel
dorf. The brand new Micropitch M0870 Flat Top is a unique
new plastic modular belt, specially designed for tightest and
smoothest transfers in order to ensure stability of tall and
small footprint foodstuff, as well as packaged items, such as
critical beverage cans, small bottles or similar. Amongst tra
ditional conveying lines, the Micropitch belt is well suited to
labeling machines and check weighers.
Until recently, nose-to-nose clearance, when using plastic
modular belts, has been limited by belt design and the diam
eter of the nose bars. Typically, modular belts 0.5in. (12.7
mm) pitch require a nose bar diameter of 34 (19mm),
which requires a minimal clearance between nose bars of
0.87in. (22 mm). Now, with the combination of a new belt
design and a nose bar diameter of 0.28in. (7mm) spacing be
tween belts can be reduced to 0.55in. (14mm). Since, the
pitch of this belt is reduced to 0.315in. (8mm) the poten
tially damaging polygon effect is greatly reduced. This new
design provides benefits to the manufacturing process by
enabling smooth and tight transfer, improved tracking, and
product stability while allowing for smooth running and the
smallest gap.
High quality conveyor belts are the key element of all relia
ble conveying systems. The Swiss world leader Habasit has
the broadest range of belting products on the market and of
fers a comprehensive service and optimal customer solu
tions. Their product portfolio includes fabric-based conveyor
belts, plastic modular belts and chains, power transmission
belts, timing belts as well as gear motors.
++ Habasit
However, the best products on the market are nothing with
out support. A world-wide network with hundreds of local
distribution and service associates in over 70 countries pro
vides the fastest support possible. There are active affiliated
companies not only in Europe, but also in the USA, in Chi
na, Singapore, India and Japan. For high-tech products Ha
basit has devised a network of local fabrication centers,
based on its own affiliated companies.

Multivac
Hall 05, Stand C23/D24
Multivac is presenting its range from the high performance
machine R 535, the flexible design R 245 and the compact R
145 to the economy model. The R 175 CD is also part of the
new generation, a new compact machine for Darfresh packages
with films by Cryovac.
++ Multivac
What all machines have in common is the completely new hy
giene design that simplifies the cleaning process and not only
on the outside but also the inside of the machines. One exam
ple is the new open design of chain and chain guide: It allows
for easy removal of contaminations even in these critical areas,
without disassembly. The concept is supported by an optimal
clean-in-place system, an absolute innovation for thermofor
ming machines. It enables the partially automated and repro
ducible cleaning of the machine interior. This is supplemented
by improvements in the design and functions, for example
with the lifting mechanisms and dies. They enable an addition
al increase in machine performance, ergonomics and cost ef
fectiveness.
BAKI NG+BI SCUI T I SSUE 02 2008
5 4 I N T E R P A C K
The machines are presented in interesting applications at
the trade show. For example, integrated into a complete line
for food products with a robotics unloading unit and a qual
ity control system that consists of a weight/price labeling,
sealed seam testing device, X-ray testing device and the au
tomatic ejection of flawed packages. Or in a machine for
cold cut packages in a retro design, which look as if they had
been packaged at the sales counter.
In the food area, skin packages continue to be a highly rele
vant subject. Such packages can also be implemented with
Multivac tray sealers, for all performance areas and all sizes
of applicable trays. As an example of this, Multivac will show
an application on a fully automatic tray sealer at the trade show.

The Reading Pretzel & Snack 2-Unit Fried Snack Extruder is
a flexible machine for low pressure extrusion of both baked
and fried snack products. As the name implies, the Fried
Snack Extruder has been developed to address the specific
needs of fried snack production. It has a taller and more
open support frame that allows for easy mating with frying
equipment and the installation of optional free float sec
tions to discharge cut product into a fryer. The Extruder can
be positioned above the in feed of a fryer, or product can be
transferred to a fryer (or oven) with an optional transfer
conveyor.
The T.L. Green Biscuit & Cracker Fabricated Chip Sheeter is
a forming machine capable of sheeting and cutting shapes
from potato doughs comprised of dry premixes, potato
flakes, whole grain, corn and other formulations. Dough is
fed through a 2-Roll Sheeter, and then cut by a rotary cutter
die. Cut shapes can be delivered directly into the in feed of a
fryer prior to seasoning and packaging, or into the oven.
Product changeover is accomplished by changing the rotary
cutter die roll.
The ExACT Mixing pilot mixer is similar in design to the
larger family of exact production mixers. The mixer is capa
ble of manufacturing dough at 250 kg\hr and can be tested
at the RBS technical center along with our continuous me
tering systems.

Rondo Doge is presenting interesting new developments in
its range of industrial solutions for the production of pastry,
bread, rolls and many other bakery products. A highlight on
the booth will be the industrial special bread line equipped
with a long-moulding unit which can be watched and expe
rienced during regular live demonstrations with dough.
Rondo Doge centers on its competence in producing differ
ent types of bread and rolls from a dough band. This process
offers significant advantages over solutions with a dough di
vider. The quality of the final product is demonstrably bet
ter, as the dough structure is not damaged during the pro
duction process. In addition, such a line offers a particularly
high degree of flexibility with respect to the type and size of
the bread and rolls produced, allowing a rapid response to
changing market needs.
Rondo Doge will also demonstrate the further development
of its well known special bread line.
This industrial line, which is more than twenty meters long,
is characterized by its versatile production capabilities. It
can produce baguettes in different versions, grain rolls, Foc
cacia and Ciabatta, whilst on the other hand, processing the
dough in a very gentle way. Other advantages of this modern
production line are the innovative control system with ad
vanced user navigation and the modern hygiene properties.
This special bread line will meet the needs of the baking in
dustry for high efficiency, easy cleaning and comfortable op
eration. Numerous innovative features and a modular con
cept fulfils the demand from the market for high flexibility
in a wide area of applications.
++ Rondo Doge
As always, Rondo Doge will do live demonstrations with
dough. On the industrial special bread line, equipped with a
long-moulding unit, Rondo Doge will produce several types
of bread every day.

++ Scanbelt
Scanbelt introduces new modular plastic belt for extreme
narrow curves. Compared to comparable modular plastic belts,
the latest radius belt S.101 TAB by Scanbelt (supplier: HADI
GmbH, Germany) features an extremely low inner radius.
This belt allows to move the products like on serpentines.
The new S.101 plastic radius belt has a market-low collapse
factor starting from 1,5 x belt width. It can be delivered with
a variety of hold-down hooks or tabs for your preferred
guiding. It comes with flights, high friction top modules
upon request.
Space-saving radius belts facilitate the design of logistic
chains in production because the flexibility of the transport
lines do not need to be considered any more. This means
that the targeted feeding and discharge sections are only de
fined by the location of machines and equipment. Obstacles
can be overcome with S-shaped curves thus saving space.
Due to the new developed f riction modules, transport line
with up to 40 degree slope are possible.
The new Scanbelt S.101 TAB radius belt is perfectly suitable
for the use in bakeries and cconfectionery production. The
materials are FDA-approved and follow hygienic design
principles.

Stress free dough sheeting
The X-pack is designed to handle different types
of dough, from firm textures up to strongly
hydrated and bulk proofed dough. This unique
unit produces a regular and continuous dough
sheet without altering its characteristics.
The X-pack is a very compact unit. It performs
the functions of chunking, pre-sheeting and low
stress sheeting all in one unit. Due to its unique
design it is possible to reduce all types of dough
without degassing or damaging the extensibility
or generating stress.
Minimizing scrap
Controlling the width of the dough sheet
generates a minimum amount of scrap dough.
Specially designed gauging stations combined
with our new cross relaxer allows you to produce
a consistent dough sheet. As a result of this
Crusto bread process, the dough sheet has a
minimum amount of side trim. This dough can
be transported back to the kneaders/mixers.
Rademaker: bread cutting technology
With the Rademaker bread cutting technology,
you can create an artisanal shape or an original
form by cutting dough loafs instead of using the
moulding processes. Crustos cutting tools shape
your breads without harming its structure.
The difference in end result can sometimes
hardly be seen and multiple forms can be
cut at once. Take as an example the Barra
Rustica. Cut bread technology gives
you the opportunity to work with
strongly hydrated doughs and
bulk fermentation to achieve
an artisanal look.
The standard in bakery equipment
Crusto Bread Line
The new Rademaker bread lines are designed for a wide range of products,
ranging from buns, rolls, tin bread, cut bread to moulded breads.
Small or heavy weight products can be handled. Top quality artisan breads
at medium to large scale capacities will be produced in a consistent
manner. Due to the unique design of the line, flexibility and fast product
changeovers are guaranteed.

Tecnopool s.p.A.
Hall 4, Stand C26
Tecnopool has been present in the industry of design, manu
facture and installation of machines and plants for the food
processing industry for more than 25 years. It all started
with an industrial patent for a belt conveyor, which due to
its innovative and specific technical features ensured a con
tinuous product flow of both food and other materials in
production. This is how the Anaconda conveyor was first
developed. As a result of technical development and im
provements to this versatile continuous conveyor over the
years, this system has evolved significantly and due to its
specific features it has been used in several industrial appli
cations particularly in the food industry: cooling, proofing,
deep-freezing, pasteurization of many products.
Tecnopool, for more than two years now, has utilized all of
its energy on the study and production of a new system and
of a totally new belt which, since the beginning, has achieved
widespread success in the food industry sector: The T-Worth
belt runs in the guides with virtually no need for lubrica
tion. It is a stainless steel single bar belt manufactured with
special links and technical features:
+ A number of auto-lubricating plastic elements are insert
ed in the links and these have a double function: on the
lower side, they allow the belt to slide on the guides, whilst
on the upper part they form the retaining elements of the
product.
+ The special shape of the belt links allows the spiral run
ning direction to change. The spiral can run in both direc
tions (forwards and backwards).
+ The unique plastic gears of the drive unit, specially devel
oped to minimize noise and friction, are equipped with a
very simple hooking/unhooking mechanism that allows
for very easy maintenance and servicing.
+ Depending on the kind of application, the belt can be pro
vided both with s/s or plastic mesh, suitable for all work
ing temperatures form plus 120 C to -40 C.
+ The specially designed supporting structure of the spiral
is devoid of reticular elements typical of former drum sys
tems. This allows free air circulation and optimizes all the
different thermal treatments and makes for easier cleaning.
