Sika ViscoCrete-R 550 (I)

Ultra high range water reducing concrete admixture
Product Description
Uses Sika ViscoCrete R550 (I) is a third generation superplasticizer for concrete and mortar. It meets the requirements for superplasticizers according SIA 162 (1989 ) and prEN 934-2 & IS 9103 1999 (Amended 2003). Sika ViscoCrete R550 (I) is suitable for the production of precast concrete. Sika ViscoCrete R 550 (I) facilitates extreme water reduction, excellent flowability with the same time optimal cohesion and highest self compacting behaviour. Sika ViscoCrete R550 (I) is used for the following types of concrete Precast concrete Selfcompacting Concrete wth highest water reduction (up tp 40%) High strength concrete High water reduction, excellent flowability, coupled with high early strengths, have a positive influence on the above mentioned applications. Sika ViscoCrete R550 (I) acts by different mechanisms. Through surface adsorption and sterical seperation effect on the cement particles, in parallel to the hydration process, the following properties are obtained: Strong self compacting behaviour, therefore suitable for the production of self compacting concrete(S.C.C) Extremely high water reduction ( resulting in high density and strengths) Excellent flowability (resulting in highly reduced placing and compacting efforts) Improved shrinkage and creep behaviour Reduced rate of carbonation of the concrete Sika ViscoCrete R550 (I) does not contain chloride or other, steel corrosion promoting ingredients. It may therefore be used without any restrictions for reinforced- and prestressed concrete construction. SIA 162 (1989) and prEN 934-2 & IS 9103 1999 (Amended 2003).

Compatibility
Sika ViscoCrete -R 550 (I) may be combined with many other Sika Products.

Important: Always conduct trials before combining products in specific mixes and contact our Technical Service Department for information about specific combinations.

Application Instructions
Dispensing Application Method / Tools Sika ViscoCrete-R550 (I) should be added separately to the freshly mixed concrete. When added separately to the freshly mixed concrete, further mixing should take place for at-least one minute per cubic metre of concrete. The standard rules of good concreting practice, concerning production and placing, are to be followed. Laboratory trials before concreting on site are strongly recommended when using a new mix design or producing new concrete components. Fresh concrete must be cured properly and as early as possible. Cleaning of Tools Notes on Application / Limitations Clean all tools and application equipment with water immediately after use. Hardened / cured material can only be removed mechanically. Excessive water addition or overdosing may cause bleeding or segregation. Frost: If frozen and / or if precipitation has occurred, Sika ViscoCrete -R 550 (I) may be used after thawing slowly at room temperature followed by intensive remixing. All technical data stated in this Product Data Sheet are based on laboratory tests. Actual measured data may vary due to circumstances beyond our control. For information and advice on the safe handling, storage and disposal of chemical products, users shall refer to the most recent Material Safety Data Sheet containing physical, ecological, toxicological and other safety-related data.
