Course Description The objective of this course is to provide students with the foundation of Artificial Intelligence in todays environment and to instill an understanding of representations and external constraints with the idea of enabling students to think creatively. This course will also include a great deal of group learning during class, and a considerable number of short program will be required as part of home assignments. Several interesting contemporary research problems will be presented in the class to encourage the participating students in learning the creative way of thinking. This course is prerequisite for Computer Vision and Neuro-Computing course.

Graduate Competency Each Course in the study program contributes to the graduate competencies that are divided into employability and entrepreneurial skills and study program specific outcomes, in which students need to have demonstrated by the time they complete their course. BINUS University employability and entrepreneurial skills consist of planning and organizing, problem solving and decision making, self management, team work, communication, and initiative and enterprise. Learning Outcomes On successful completion of this Course, students will be able to: LO 1 : Describes what AI is and identify the concept of intelligent agent LO 2 : Explain and apply various intelligent search methods that an agent can use to solve the problems LO 3 : Describe knowledge representation and explain how to use this knowledge for reasoning purposes. LO 4 : Demonstrate how to achieve a goal through a sequence of actions called planning LO 5 : Apply various techniques to an agent when acting under uncertainty LO 6 : Apply how to process natural language and other perceptual signs in order for an agent to Interact intelligently with the world

Teaching and Learning Strategies In addition to normal lectures provided by Instructors, the course will also provide exercises, assignments and some simple programming works on relevant topics under the supervision of the Instructors.
