Amino Acids
Our bodies break down the protein in foods into building blocks called amino acids. These amino acids are re-assembled in our cells in a specific order necessary to form functional proteins. The quantities, as well as the types, of amino acids present in our bodies are critical. Without the correct amino acids in the proper quantities, our systems cannot rebuild or repair tissues, muscles, blood proteins and cell enzymes. Science classifies these important components in two categories -- essential and nonessential. Eight are referred to as "essential" simply because our bodies cannot make them. The remaining thirteen amino acids are thought of as "nonessential" because our bodies can make them. In reality, all 21 amino acids are necessary for building tissue proteins. Here is a list of how they are classified:

ESSENTIAL (cant be made by our bodies)

Isoleucine Leucine Lysine Methionine Phenylalanine Threonine Tryptophan Valine

NONESSENTIAL (can be made by our bodies)

Alanine Arginine Asparagine Aspartic Acid Cystine (Cysteine) Glutamic Acid Glycine Histidine Hydroxylysine Hydroxyproline Proline Serine Tyrosine

When proteins contain these essential amino acids in quantities and ratios that meet the bodys needs, they are called complete food proteins. Typically, complete food proteins occur naturally in animal products including eggs, milk, cheese and meats. Foods deficient in one or more of the essential amino acids are usually vegetable proteins, including grains, legumes, nuts and seeds. Vegetable proteins can be mixed with each other, or with complete food proteins to provide adequate amounts of the essential amino acids. Another solution to obtaining complete food proteins and essential amino acids is our Complete Amino supplement. Combined with an adequate daily intake of protein, Complete Amino results in a balanced mixture of amino acids. It serves as an excellent source of protein to add to a low calorie diet, to support a bodybuilding program, or to supplement vegetarian diets. Because Complete Amino is already broken down, it is highly bioavailable and ready for the body to use. Acetyl L-Carnitine 500 mg : As part of its role in supporting mental function, Acetyl L-Carnitine may help support memory, attention span and mental performance in healthy people as well as those with brain impairment. We offer a variety of amino acid products listed below:

Complete Amino : Contains all of the essential amino acids and 9 of the nonessential in an easy to digest tablet. With the same amino acid profile as milk, this supplement helps produce a balanced mixture of amino acids in the body to support healthy tissue growth.

Amino Acids
L-Arginine 500 mg L-Arginine is a nonessential amino acid produced through the digestion of proteins and has several roles in the body, such as assisting in wound healing, removing excess ammonia from the body, stimulating immune function and promoting secretion of glucagon, insulin and growth hormone. L-Arginine & L-Ornithine Complex L-Arginine & L-Ornithine needs are elevated in times of intense stress. L-Arginine acts as a precursor to nitric oxide to promote healthy dilation of blood vessels and normalize blood lipid levels. As an antioxidant, it prevents cell destruction caused by harmful pro-oxidant substances, allowing enhanced blood flow. L-Ornithine, a precursor to L-Arginine, may help stimulate growth hormone to promote lean body mass anabolism. L-Carnitine 500 mg L-Carnitine is an amino acid responsible for the transport of long chain fatty acids into energy producing cells. L-Carnitine may support heart health, liver health, and weight loss.

L-Glutamine L-Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid found in the muscle. It supplies more than 50% of the free amino acid content in our muscles. Supplementation with L-Glutamine may decrease recovery time from stress and injury. L-Glutamine also assists the body in maintaining a healthy digestive tract and supports immune function. L-Lysine 500 mg L-Lysine, an essential amino acid, is needed to support proper growth and bone development. L-Lysine supports immune function and can help decrease the occurrence or severity of cold sores. N-Acetyl Cysteine 600 mg N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) is a form of the amino acid cysteine. NAC is used in the body to make glutathione peroxidase - one of the bodys most naturally occurring antioxidants. NAC raises glutathione peroxidase levels in the body and has been shown to provide numerous health benefits, such as promoting heart health, supporting immune function, and helping to protect the body from toxins. The cysteine found in NAC is important for supporting healthy hair and nails.

L-Tyrosine 500 mg A conditionally essential amino acid, L-Tyrosine is one of the most important elements in maintaining neurotransmitter balance in the brain. These neurotransmitters are associated with proper mood, norepinephrine and dopamine. L-Tyrosine can also be useful in promoting nerve and thyroid health.

Antioxidants - Free Radical Fighters

Free radicals are silent unseen enemies that invade and attack our bodies, contributing to aging and associated with an increased risk of cancer and heart disease. Oxygen molecules with "attitude", free radicals, wreak havoc on the body through the negative charge they carry. With the help of antioxidants, this negative charge is neutralized, diminishing the destructive power of free radicals. Vitamins A, C, E, and selenium have traditionally been the antioxidants of choice. But now, theres a new breed of antioxidants. We think of them as "super" antioxidants because they enhance the benefits of traditional supplements and offer increased protection. We offer a variety of antioxidants listed below: ActiVin Grape Seed Extract : Provides added antioxidant protection through a unique combination of grape seed extract, green tea and bioflavonoids derived from lemons Contains resveratrol from grape skin, the compound associated with the health benefits attributed to red wine Promotes a healthy cardiovascular system, healthy skin, capillaries and wellness

Alpha Lipoic Acid (100 mg, 300 mg) : Extends the life and effectiveness of Vitamins C, E, and CoQ10, as well as Glutathione Supports blood sugar metabolism, especially beneficial to some diabetics Fat and water soluble - providing increased utilization in the body Supports memory function by reducing free radical damage to neural cells

Super Antioxidant CoQ10 (30 mg, 60 mg, 100 mg, 200 mg): Helps maintain cardiovascular health and promote vitality as CoQ10 is synthesized in every cell of the body Selenium Supplements : Work synergistically with vitamin E protecting cells from free radical damage A fat soluble nutrient, is best absorbed when taken with foods containing fat

Antioxidants - Free Radical Fighters

Natural vs. Synthetic: Whats the Difference Anyway? Natural beta-carotene from D. salina is approximately half trans and half cis isomers (isomer refers to the different shapes of the same vitamin). Unlike synthetic beta-carotene which is all trans and provides little antioxidant benefit. The cis isomer has strong antioxidant properties and is the more protective form of natural beta-carotene. Our 100% natural beta-carotene is from D. salina, grown in the sun on the clean ocean waters of Australia! There are many carotenoids available which have antioxidant benefits, including: betacarotene, alpha-carotene, cryptoxanthin, lutein, zeaxanthin, and lycopene. Below is a chart listing the various foods that contain the specific carotenoids.

Are You Getting the Most from Your Supplements?

We all know nutritional supplements are important for maintaining good health. Poor eating habits along with daily exposure to pollution and stress increase our vitamin and mineral requirements. Quality supplements help us meet these needs. But...

NOT ALL SUPPLEMENTS ARE MADE THE SAME Supplements have to "break down" in your digestive tract before your body can use them. This can only happen when a supplement has been properly made and tested, and not all supplements go through these necessary checks and balances. If a supplement is not produced under strict quality control, it may be too "hard" to break down completely in your stomach. This means you do not receive the full benefit of that supplement because you excrete most of it!

HOW CAN YOU BE SURE YOURE GETTING THE BEST To ensure you are getting nutrients that your body can use, only take products that are manufactured with high quality ingredients and under strict quality control regulations. In addition to several other tests, each of our products undergo a DISINTEGRATION TIME TEST. This special test tells us how and when the product will break down in the body

DISINTEGRATION TIME TEST The DISINTEGRATION TIME TEST consists of a laboratory test that approximates a "normal" stomach to see how a tablet will behave when it gets in your body. It exposes the supplement to the temperature, biochemical environment and motions that actually occur in the stomach, and the breakdown of the tablet is monitored over time. Different formulas have different ideal disintegration times. Most products should disintegrate (break down) in about 30 minutes to 1 hour. Timed or prolonged release products are specifically designed to take longer to disintegrate in order to improve utilization of certain nutrients. They may even stay partly "intact" after releasing their nutrients, a normal situation for these products.

CONFIDENCE IN OUR BRAND Sometimes people try to determine their own "disintegration time" at home by putting their tablets into a glass of water or vinegar and waiting for them to dissolve. This test is totally inaccurate for 99.9% of your supplements! It simply is not similar enough to a real stomach when determining how a complex nutritional formula will behave in the body. The vinegar test is only appropriate for formulas that contain just calcium carbonate. Anything more complex simply may not break down if it is not under the temperature, biochemical and motion conditions present in the stomach. After all, you cant dissolve a piece of food in a glass of vinegar! Keep in mind that your body is much more complicated than a glass of vinegar, so do not rely on this method to test your supplements. Rest assured, our line of supplements has been appropriately tested for disintegration.

Are You Getting the Most from Your Supplements?

THE PROLONGED RELEASE ADVANTAGE When we eat nutrient rich foods, the vitamins are gradually released as the food is digested. Prolonged release supplements mimic the digestion of food by gradually releasing the supplements key nutrients.

The most common form of prolonged release is a tablet. Prolonged release tablets consist of a special "matrix" (composed of natural cellulose and vegetable stearates) in which nutrients are embedded. As the tablet is digested, the nutrients are slowly released from the matrix, usually over a 2-4 hour period. The most advanced form of prolonged release is a special capsule system containing prolonged release beadlets. Tiny calcium beadlets are coated with alternating layers of nutrients and a natural release coating and then encapsulated. As the capsule dissolves in the stomach, beadlets are dispersed, and nutrients are released one layer at a time from each beadlet. Studies have confirmed the benefits and utilization of nutrients in this type of formulation. Both prolonged release tablets and capsules mimic the way your body utilizes water-soluble nutrients from food. OUR PROLONGED RELEASE PRODUCTS We carry a variety of different prolonged release tablets and capsules utilizing the unique beadlet system. We offer the following prolonged release products: Stress B & C with Iron Vitamin B12 500 mcg Vitamin B12 1000 mcg Niacin 500 mg PR Vitamin C 1000 mg Rose Hips Buffered C 1000 mg Ultra Citro Cee 1000 mg Ultimate One Ultimate One Iron Free Iron Complex 29 mg

The Unbeatable Bs
Many of us would benefit from the addition of the unbeatable Bs in our daily supplement program. Without the vitamin B family, our bodies cant maintain healthy nerves, skin, hair, eyes, liver, or muscle tone. Nor can they utilize carbohydrates, fats, and proteins adequately. The vitamin B family is an important group of nutrients, each with its own biological role to play. As a group, the Bs work together in the body and can be found in the same foods. Because of this "togetherness" theyre called the B complex vitamins. Since B vitamins are water-soluble and cannot be stored in the body for long periods of time, they must be replaced daily. Remember B vitamins are best taken with food to both increase absorption and to eliminate the possibility of causing an upset stomach. We offer individual B vitamins such as niacin that are often used therapeutically, as well as B complex vitamins to provide complete B vitamin support. Try one of our high quality B vitamin products: Vitamin B6 - Promotes cardiovascular and nervous system health, and helps treat certain anemias. It is necessary for B12 absorption and is needed for the absorption of protein, carbohydrates and fats. Available in prolonged release and vegetarian formulas.

Vitamin B12 - Important for maintaining healthy nerve cells, red blood cells, DNA formation, as well as cardiovascular, nerve and mental function. Our B12 is available in three unique delivery systems: Prolonged Release B12: Advanced manufacturing technique that allows the tablets to breakdown slowly over 2-4 hours for increased assimilation. B12 Lozenge: Natural raspberry-flavored 1,000 mcg lozenges dissolve to provide a flavorful alternative to swallowing pills. Double Absorption B12: Contains a special resin that delays disintegration of the tablets until they reach the small intestine.

Biotin - Needed for nutrient absorption and assists in forming and utilizing fatty acids. Important in the absorption of all B vitamins. Promotes healthy skin, hair and nails. Also, found in clinical studies to help potentiate the action of the trace mineral chromium picolinate.

Niacin or Vitamin B3 - Plays a role in fat synthesis, energy production, adequate circulation and nervous system. Niacin, or nicotinic acid is often used for supporting healthy cholesterol levels. We offer Niacin 100mg, Niacin 500mg prolonged release to maximize and control absorption as well as No-Flush Niacin 500mg.

Folic Acid - Important for red blood cell development, preventing anemia and essential for body cell growth. It is recommended that all women of child bearing age take a daily folic acid supplement to reduce the risk of neural tube defects in infants. The recommended dosage is generally 400-800 mcg per day.

The Unbeatable Bs
Homocysteine is an amino acid that is usually broken down and released from the body with no harm done. Some people have a genetic flaw that leaves them deficient in the enzymes responsible for regulation and breakdown of homocysteine, and this toxic amino acid builds up in their system leading to major cardiac events. Even those without the genetic flaw are susceptible, with typical risk factors such as smoking, obesity, and environmental stresses. The B vitamins included in Homocysteine Support Formula work in conjunction with the methyl cell donor trimethylglycine as a catalyst for the breakdown and removal of homocysteine from the system. B Complex Vitamins We carry a large selection of B complex products in a variety of formulas and dosages to help meet all of your specific health needs. B complex vitamins are important because the deficiency of just one of the Bs can alter the utilization and absorption of the other important B vitamins. We offer a wide variety of single B vitamins, plus B complex supplements such as Stress B & C with Iron, Food-Based B-Complex, Hi-Potency B Stress and Balanced B 50 or Balanced B 100. Other B vitamins included in our B complex formulas are thiamin (vitamin B1) and riboflavin (vitamin B2), which also have important roles in metabolism, nerve, as well as heart health to name a few of their many functions. PABA (Para-Aminobenzoic Acid) - Is an intermediate in folic acid synthesis by bacteria. Assists the body in the utilization of nutrients Pantothenic Acid - Supports metabolism, adrenals, helps form hormones and nerve regulating substances. Involved in the synthesis of hormones and cholesterol. Heart Health - Support Homocysteine Levels with Vitamin B Supplements

Calcium and Your Health

Calcium is perhaps the most important nutrient for the maintenance of bone health. As we age, our bones become more susceptible to damage as our bone building cells, known as osteoblasts, diminish while the cells responsible for bone destruction, osteoclasts, continue to thrive. With proper calcium intake, one can help offset this potential damage. Calcium is often deficient in the daily diet, and many require a dietary supplement to meet adequate calcium needs.

There are a variety of different calcium supplements available on the market, and sometimes it can be hard to choose the right supplement for you. The following is a description of our various calcium supplements, each one tailored for your specific needs: Calcium Citrate with Vitamin D Calcium citrate has been found to be the most efficiently absorbed form of calcium available, and mixed with vitamin D makes for an outstanding bone support product

Cholesterol Health
Cholesterol is a major concern for millions of people worldwide. Since heart disease is the number one killer of Americans, maintaining healthy cholesterol levels should be a top priority for anyone at any age. Understanding that there are two types of cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and high-density lipoprotein (HDL), it is imperative that LDL levels be kept low while HDL levels are kept high. LDL clings to arteries and oxidizes, causing decreased blood flow and arterial weakness. HDL helps to combat LDL levels in the system, keeping arteries free from this harmful substance and flushing excess cholesterol out of the body. Often times fats that cause LDL to rise, such as trans fats, will also strip away beneficial HDL. That is why it is important to make sure enough HDL is present in the system.

Many people keep a healthy diet and exercise regularly in order to keep LDL levels low and HDL levels high. Others use prescription medication to accomplish what diet and exercise cant. Both methods can be effective, but often there are other nutrients that can help. It is in this spirit that we are proud to offer the Cholesterol Support Category, aimed at maintaining healthy cholesterol levels for both LDL and HDL. Policosanol : Policosanol is a mixture of eight different aliphatic alcohols aimed at raising HDL and lowering LDL cholesterol. Our policosanol, like the policosanol used in clinical studies, is derived from sugar cane wax as opposed to beeswax or rice used in some other versions. It also contains over 50% octacosanol, a substance that works as a powerful antioxidant to help maintain healthy arteries. This in turn supports healthy cholesterol levels. Perhaps most importantly, policosanol has no known side effects or prescription drug interactions. Garlic has long been promoted as an herb that can benefit health. These health promoting properties are mostly credited to the sulfuric amino acid called alliin that occurs in garlic. Alliin, however, is not fully effective until converted to allicin, which is the component that gives garlic its therapeutic effects. Our High Allicin Garlic formula contains at least 10,000ppm (10mg per gram) of allicin and 22,000ppm (22mg per gram) of alliin. Each tablet contains a minimum of 5 mg allicin in an all natural coating that eliminates odor and reflux. Also known as inositol hexanicotinate, no-flush niacin is offered as an equally effective alternative to traditional niacin without the flushing of the face that occasionally accompanies large doses. Inositol hexanicotinate is metabolized slower by the body, not reaching full serum levels for nearly ten hours after consumption. This provides all of the traditional benefits of niacin therapy without the aggravating side effects. No-flush niacin is also an excellent product for those currently taking prolonged release niacin and have concerns over possible adverse effects. No-Flush Niacin : High Allicin Garlic :

Cholesterol Health
Cholesterol Complex with Plant Sterols : Cholesterol Complex with Plant Sterols is a high potency blend of some of the most effective cholesterol support products available today. We have combined policosanol with natural plant sterols, another lipid-reducing compound. Small amounts of plant sterols are naturally found in fruits and vegetables. In concentrated forms, as in our Cholesterol Complex, these plant sterols offer a greater benefit in supporting healthy cholesterol levels by binding to cholesterol and excreting it from the body. Soy Protein Powder : Soy, in addition to its other countless health benefits, has been recently touted by the US Food and Drug Administration as having positive heart health benefits. According to the FDA, diets that are low in saturated fat and cholesterol that include 25 grams of soy protein per day may reduce the risk of heart disease. When combined with proper exercise, this can be a very effective method of maintaining cardio health. Not only do we feature Non-GMO Soy Protein Powder, which provides 24 grams of soy protein per serving, we also offer NonGMO Ultimate Soy-Spirulina Protein Powder, which provides 15 grams of soy protein per serving.

Eye Health
A quarter of the nutrients consumed through the diet or supplementation are used to nourish our visual system. Poor nutrition is one of the three leading causes of macular degeneration -a leading cause of blindness for those over the age of 55. Research indicates that low levels of lutein and zeaxanthin in the macula of the eye can increase the risk for age-related macular degeneration by 40%. The eye collects and focuses light rays, converting them into electrical signals that are sent through the optic nerve to the brain. Nutrients are needed to help the eye adequately perform these functions. Carotenoids such as lutein and zeaxanthin play very important roles in eye health. Another compound found in berries, called anthocyanosides is gaining popularity for its powerful benefits for vision health. What are lutein and zeaxanthin? Lutein and zeaxanthin are carotenoids, or antioxidants, found in the breast, cervix and in large concentrations in the eye Zeaxanthin is an antioxidant usually found along with lutein in food and in the body Lutein and zeaxanthin are the only carotenoids found in the eye Lutein can be found in dark green and yellow fruits and vegetables such as spinach and kale

A dietary intake of at least 6 mg per day of lutein has been shown to help reduce the risk of many diseases of the eye such as age-related macular degeneration and cataracts. To obtain 6 mg of lutein, you would need to consume about 2 cups of spinach (raw), 9 cups of lettuce (raw), or 32 egg yolks per day. How does lutein work? Protects the retina by blocking harmful blue light rays that can damage the eye Fights free radicals that can damage cells in the body

What are anthocyanosides? Anthocyanosides, also called Anthocyanidins or Anthocyanins, are powerful antioxidants that have been found to have specific activity in the eye. They are found in the highest concentrations in the bilberry and blueberry. How do anthocyanosides help protect my eyes? They have been shown to help protect against free radical damage Can help tired eyes focus or adjust more quickly Help maintain fluidity of the cell membranes

What to look for in an Eye Health supplement: Look for a supplement that does not contain nutrients that you are already receiving in a daily multiple vitamin - choose a supplement that is safe to add to your normal supplement routine If you are vegan or vegetarian be sure your supplements are, too Choose a product that contains at least 6-10 mg of lutein Purchase a product that contains nutrients obtained from high-quality raw materials, such as one of our eye health formulas

Eye Health
Most people do not consume an adequate amount of lutein, bilberry or blueberry in their daily diets to help protect against eye deterioration and maintain healthy eyesight. This is why eye health supplements are gaining popularity in the natural food and supplement market. We offer the following dietary supplements formulated to support eye health: Ultimate Eye Formula Contains 10 mg of LuteMax lutein per capsule - it is recommended to start with a loading dose of 20 mg or two capsules per day for several weeks Contains 350 mg of bilberry extract and 150 mg of blueberry extract LuteMax Lutein is obtained from the natural marigold extract Bilberry and Blueberry are protected from stomach acid by a natural plant fiber called the Bio-Shield MatrixTM to increase absorption and utilization of these ingredients Advanced vitamin and antioxidant formulation

Ocu Complete with Lutein

Contains FloraGlo brand lutein, a proven purified source Easy to swallow capsules Compare to TwinLab Ocuguard Natural antioxidant from the carotenoid family found in large concentrations in the eye An important component of visual function, especially as we age Sourced from FloraGlo, a proven purified source Lutein in the macula protects the eye by blocking harmful blue light rays

Healthy Digestion
Good nutrition is not only what you eat, but also what you digest and absorb. The two most important factors in promoting proper digestion are enzymes and fiber. Unfortunately, many of us do not produce enough enzymes, nor do we ingest enough fiber through our diets to achieve optimal intestinal health. Deficiencies can lead to irregularity and the associated pain and discomfort of indigestion. Thankfully, there are nutritional measures we can take to aid in greater nutrient absorption and healthy digestion.

Fiber Fiber is deficient in the diets of most Americans due to frequent consumption of overprocessed foods, stripped of their natural fiber content. The recommended intake of fiber for the general public is 25-35 grams per day for optimal health. Short term inadequate fiber intake can cause stomach discomfort, such as constipation, and over time it can lead to more serious and uncomfortable complications like diverticulosis. Fibers are classified into two categories according to their structure and how they work in the body. Insoluble fibers, such as cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin, do not dissolve in water. Soluble fibers, such as gum and pectin, do dissolve in water. We need both types of fiber every day. Our Fiber Products Super Fiber Tabs Contains both soluble and insoluble fiber Promotes cardiovascular health by binding dietary fats Complements a weight loss program Psyllium Husk Bulk forming fiber promoting regularity Natural, gentle source non-irritating to the gut Provides both soluble and insoluble fiber

Enzymes Enzymes are as essential to the body as water. They help to break down proteins, fats and carbohydrates and liberate the micronutrients so they can be utilized by the body. When taken for digestive support, enzymes can reduce the amount of gas and bloating that occurs when consuming foods that may not be properly digested due to lack of sufficient enzymes. Why should I supplement with enzymes? Enzymes are found in the food supply, but often not in sufficient amounts needed by the body The prevalence of cooked and processed food are two factors that increase the need for digestive enzymes By the age of 50 up to 30% of the enzyme production in the body stops and up to fifty percent of adults do not produce enough enzymes to properly absorb nutrients May help with constipation, gas, bloating, heartburn Promotes a healthy immune system A deficiency in digestive enzymes can lead to lack of energy or constant hunger

Get a Jump Start: Be Heart Smart!

Heart conditions are a major concern for millions of people. Many fight heart disease through diet and exercise while others add prescription medications to their struggle. With our heart health category of products, we address the needs of those looking for additional cardiovascular support through dietary supplementation. We offer unique products, each with a different approach to supporting heart health. Nutrients important for optimal heart health include the following: Policosanol has gained popularity as an alternative to prescription medication. It is an effective cholesterol support product that does not cause a deficiency in CoQ10, the main reason for aches and pains associated with cholesterol support drugs. Policosanol is a mixture of nine high primary aliphatic alcohols, formulated to maintain healthy levels of both LDL and HDL cholesterol. Octacosanol, the main ingredient in policosanol, is a powerful antioxidant that helps keep arteries healthy. The octacosanol used in our product is a derivative of sugar cane wax, not beeswax or rice bran sometimes used in other policosanol formulas. For policosanol, we feature: Niacin is another popular approach to supporting healthy cholesterol. The benefits of vitamin B3 for cardio health are well demonstrated, but some people complain of a flushing of the face after taking large doses. Inositol hexanicotinate is a form of niacin that is absorbed slowly by the body, not reaching full serum levels for nearly ten hours after consumption. Inositol hexanicotinate is not timed release niacin, it is a wholly separate type of vitamin B3 designed to provide all of the benefits of traditional niacin without the flush. We feature: Garlic has been used as herbal medication for thousands of years for everything from bubonic plague to food for workers on the great pyramids. Its health-promoting properties are mostly credited to the sulfuric amino acid called alliin that occurs in garlic. Alliin, however, is not fully effective until converted in to allicin, which is the component that gives garlic its therapeutic effects. Heat inactivates alliinase, the enzyme responsible for the conversion of alliin to allicin. This may explain why it is recommended that raw garlic be used for health instead of cooked garlic. We feature: B Vitamins are the main nutrients supporting healthy levels of homocysteine, a toxic byproduct of amino acid metabolism that can build up in the blood and affect heart health. These B vitamins include folic acid, vitamin B6, and vitamin B12. Additionally, B vitamins help nourish and replenish the nutrient stores of organs that are taxed under stress, including the heart. Our specialty vitamin B complex for homocysteine support: Homocysteine Support Formula with TMG High Allicin Garlic - odor free No-Flush Niacin 500mg Policosanol 20mg

Nutrients to Support Heart Health

Get a Jump Start: Be Heart Smart!

Essential Fatty Acids play an important role in maintaining normal triglyceride levels in the blood. Two to three servings of fatty fish per week is recommended for promoting heart health. Our product line features the following fish oil based formulas as well as vegetarian alternatives: Concentrated Omega-3 - 1200mg fish oil with natural orange flavor EPA & DHA Evening Primrose Oil 500mg and 1300mg Flax Seed Oil 1000mg - made from organic flax seeds 100% Organic High Lignan Organic Flax Oil Ultimate Omega Complex

Antioxidants help protect the blood capillaries from oxidative damage. ActiVin Grape Seed Extract contains resveratrol, an antioxidant found in grape seed responsible for the health benefits associated with red wine. Our antioxidants include: ActiVin Grape Seed Extract 50mg Advanced Antioxidant Complex Alpha-Lipoic Acid 100mg and 300mg Super Antioxidant CoQ10 30mg, 60mg, 100mg and 200mg Ultimate Antioxidant

Soy Protein - Diets low in saturated fat and cholesterol that include 25 grams of soy protein per day have been shown to help reduce the risk of heart disease. We feature: Certified IPP, Non-GMO Soy Protein Powder Ultimate Soy-Spirulina Protein Powder

Heart Support Formulas

Cholesterol Complex with Plant Sterols Cholesterol Complex with Plant Sterols is a high potency blend of some of the most effective cholesterol support products available today. We have combined policosanol with natural plant sterols, another lipidreducing compound. Small amounts of plant sterols are naturally found in fruits and vegetables. In concentrated forms, as in our Cholesterol Complex, these plant sterols offer a greater benefit in supporting healthy cholesterol levels by binding to cholesterol and excreting it from the body.

Cardio Support Softgels offer key nutrients identified in scientific studies to support the cardiovascular system. B-vitamins help to keep homocysteine levels in check while CoQ10, omega-3 fatty acids, garlic oil, hawthorn, magnesium, niacin, and resveratrol offer heart health effects.

The Ultimate Herbs

No one needs to tell you that all herbs are not created equal. The prices alone are a good indication that something must be different from line to line. It could be how theyre grown and harvested, the methods used in manufacturing, whether the herb is cut and sifted or a powdered extract, whether part or all of the plant is used, or a myriad of other possibilities. Whats important is being sure the herbs you choose are high quality herbs time and time again -- so you get a product that works. Thats why we rely on the trade marked Ultimate Extract process to prepare our herbs for market. Whether a standardized or a semi-purified product, each extraction method used provides a high quality herbal extract ensuring maximum herbal nutrition. Not just this time, but every time.

We package our herbs in glass bottles, a complete moisture barrier, to preserve freshness and potency. Then we add a best by date to assure you of the potency period. As for the potency itself, we use quantitative chemical analysis for our standardized products to assure the extract contains a specific percentage of a known marker or reference compound to guarantee its potency and identity. Our Line of Liquid Extracts

The Ultimate Extract process uses the best method to release the active constituents of the whole herb, without destroying active ingredients. After draining the liquid from the marc (insoluble plant fiber), the extract concentration level is verified on standardized products. Finished product combines the marc and extract material whenever feasible and is tested twice to confirm the absence of bacterial contamination. Because the cell walls are broken during processing, these concentrated active ingredients are made more bioavailable to the body.

Ultimate Extracts are selected by experienced, reliable sources both overseas and domestically. These cultivated quality plants are harvested at peak, verified for their botanical identity and plant part. Our standardized products are lab evaluated to confirm quality and profile of the active constituents in each batch. Organic crops are chosen when they are consistently available.

Heres a brief overview of what it means to be classified as an Ultimate Extract herb:

Liquid herbal extracts are an extremely popular and effective delivery form of herb supplements. Each herbal extract is standardized as a full spectrum alcohol extract providing all active components found in nature. Our herbal extracts are truly extracts and not tinctures, since tinctures are less potent than extracts. By definition, tinctures contain 200 mg of crude herb in 30 drops of a liquid extract, whereas extracts are five times stronger and contain 1000 mg crude herb per 30 drops. Also, no irradiation is used in the processing of our extracts. You can be assured of receiving high quality liquid herbs, guaranteed for potency and purity.

Intestinal Health
Beneficial Bacteria

- Feed Your Friends!

Food is vital to life because it supplies our bodies with the source of energy needed to function. Ensuring the body receives nutrition from food is dependent upon how well the intestinal tract is able to absorb and utilize the nutrients. Maintaining a healthy intestinal tract is more than just eating healthy and being regular. At 30 feet long, the intestines break food down into molecules small enough to be transported to the cellular level. The entire surface area of the gastro-intestinal tract is equivalent to the size of a football field! The intestines also help keep the immune system strong by killing harmful bacteria before they are able to reach the rest of the body. The intestines directly affect the immune system by balancing the bacterial flora. Not all bacteria are harmful; in fact there are bacteria in our systems that are considered beneficial. Probiotics

Probiotics, meaning "for life", refers to the benefits of "friendly" bacteria, such as Bifidobacteria bifidum and Lactobacillus acidophilus. Probiotics are live microbial supplements that benefit the body by implanting in the intestinal tract and improving flora. We Offer Max Immune Probiotic Quattro. How to get the most from your probiotic supplements

Be sure to only purchase products that state the potency not only at time of manufacture, but that list the potency guaranteed at the best by date. Our labels always list both the amount of live bacteria at manufacture as well as at the end of the best by date. Probiotic supplements lose their potency at a very fast rate and it has been shown that products that do not guarantee a specific amount at the end of a specific date often contain minimal or no live bacteria by the time of purchase and/or consumption.

Should Your Supplements Include Iron?

Most adult men and post-menopausal women dont need extra iron. In fact, you could be doing harm to your heart and arteries if you fall in this group and are taking supplements with iron. On the other hand, iron deficiency is a common nutritional problem in the United States. The groups at risk for iron deficiency include infants under the age of two, young women, and pregnant women. Iron is vital because it is a component of blood and it helps transport oxygen from the lungs to body tissues. The question is should you opt for supplements with or without iron to maintain your health. Here are the points to consider: Does Your Body Store Iron? Without frequent blood loss, men and post-menopausal women accumulate iron stores. The body releases this extra supply into the blood, which can easily oxidize and cause free radical damage to cells, arteries, and organs. High intake of ascorbic acid, red meat, poultry, and citrus fruits increases the bodys absorption of iron.

Does Your Body Call For Increased Supplies of Iron? Increased iron requirements occur during the growth spurts of infancy, adolescence, and during pregnancy and lactation. High intake of tea, coffee, and alcohol, as well as calcium, magnesium and zinc, reduce the absorption of iron in the body. In addition, people eating low iron diets, like vegans, may require iron supplements to maintain healthy red blood cells.

For Iron-Free Supplements, consider choosing one of these products from our line:
Iron-Free Multi : Provides natural beta-carotene plus mixed carotenoids for additional antioxidant protection Includes vitamin C, bioflavonoids, and vitamin E for antioxidant protection Supports digestion with plant enzymes and betaine HCl Offered as easy-to-swallow capsules

Joint Health
Many members of the baby boomer population are suffering from stiff, aching joints that are often painful and lead to inactivity and possibly even depression. Individuals suffering from joint pain and discomfort often turn to doctors for relief, usually ending up on nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). While these medications may be necessary to provide short-term pain relief, as with many medications, long-term use can lead to negative side effects.

Research shows that NSAIDs show prompt reduction of clinical symptoms of joint pain, but the symptoms often reappear soon after treatment is discontinued. With alternatives such as glucosamine and chondroitin, the therapeutic response may appear later in time but can last for months beyond discontinuing treatment. Glucosamine and chondroitin may actually help lead to healthier joints, not just relief of symptoms. How Glucosamine and Chondroitin Work

They provide long-term benefits due to their ability to stimulate specialized cells which help promote healthy cartilage tissue. They provide building blocks for large water binding molecules that are important constituents for cartilage formation. These molecules attract and hold water, supporting cartilage fluidity and elasticity. On the other hand, NSAIDs provide short-term relief to painful joints, but do not provide long-term benefits and can eventually lead to more severe joint health problems. Joint support combination products are becoming ever so popular, in this world of quick and easy alternatives. Combination formulas are convenient but may not provide the adequate dosages needed to obtain therapeutic benefits for your joints. So be sure not to waste your money on products that contain a vast array of everything but not enough of anything. Clinical research shows that the most effective dosage for glucosamine is 500-1500 mg per day, for chondroitin 400-1200 mg per day and MSM 1000 mg daily. What is MSM? MSM or methylsulfonylmethane is composed of 34.1% sulfur making it a widely used therapy for improving or maintaining joint health. Sulfur supports over 150 compounds in the body including amino acid production, connective tissue, and skin. The highest concentrations of sulfur are found in the joints, hair, skin, and nails. MSM helps to support the bodys ability to manage pain and inflammatory conditions. Studies indicate that alternative therapies for joints such as glucosamine, chondroitin, and MSM provide benefits to the joints, without the adverse side effects that are often caused from traditional medication use. Taking the Right Dosage

Mining for Key Minerals

Five percent of our bodys weight is comprised of minerals. These minerals are involved in numerous bodily functions including regulating enzyme metabolism, transferring nutrients to cells, maintaining nerves, contracting muscles, and balancing body fluids. As important as they are, obtaining minerals through diet alone can be difficult, especially the minerals referred to as trace minerals such as vanadium, silicon, and boron. The added stresses of trauma, surgery or multiple drug therapies cause our bodies to require even higher amounts of minerals for proper functioning. This chart summarizes the important health role minerals play and where to find them in our products: Minerals Boron Needed for metabolizing calcium and magnesium. Prenatal Health - For You and Your Baby

Getting off to a good start is vital to a healthy pregnancy, both for you and for your baby. When you think about how a tiny cluster of cells becomes a new human life, the importance of prenatal health is obvious. The most important elements of a healthy pregnancy include: Prenatal Care from a Health Care Provider Proper Prenatal Nutrition Exercise

Professional Prenatal Health Care

An abundance of medical research documents the fact that pregnant women who receive prenatal care from a professional practitioner are more likely to deliver a healthy baby and have fewer complications during labor. At your initial visit, your health care provider will administer tests to determine the best practice for managing your pregnancy. In addition, he or she will advise you of nutritional requirements including prenatal vitamins in addition to the various "no-nos" which include lunch meats or soft unpasteurized cheeses such as bleu cheese, and certain kinds of fish. Nutrition The organ formation and tissue differentiation that take place in the first trimester requires good nutrition for proper development and sets the stage for the next two trimesters. During the following six months this work continues, building on the healthy development already established, and finally completing the process. How you treat your body, and especially your nutritional habits are key to the healthy growth of your baby during pregnancy.

It is most advisable to begin prenatal vitamin supplements at least 3-6 months prior to conception, continuing through delivery and while breastfeeding. Also, many herbal and botanical supplements are not safe for pregnancy or lactating women. Always consult with your health care provider first in planning for a healthy pregnancy and to discuss nutrition and dietary supplementation. Exercise is appropriate and recommended for pregnant women. In fact, the American Journal of Public Health found exercise is safe during pregnancy, and those women who exercised often were more likely to carry their babies full term than women who exercised less frequently or not at all. Walking, swimming, riding a stationary bicycle or taking prenatal fitness classes are all excellent choices. Avoid any sports where you can fall, those that are too intense, cause you to overheat, or involve sit ups, toe touches, or deep knee bends. Again, consult your health care provider in determining the best exercise regimen for you and your baby. To help your body provide your baby with needed nutrients and vitamins, it is essential to take a prenatal multivitamin. All of our prenatal formulas contain ingredients crucial in supporting healthy baby development. Additionally, all of our brand prenatals are tested several times throughout formulation to ensure purity and potency. Our formulas include: Exercise

Prenatal Health - For You and Your Baby

Prenatal Multi : Specifically created to address the needs of women before and during pregnancy as well as women who are nursing Contains extra calcium, folic acid, and iron, ingredients necessary in supporting a healthy pregnancy

Prenatal Complete : High potency, food based formula providing complete nutrition before, during and after pregnancy Contains ginger to help ease the discomfort of nausea Compare to Rainbow Light Prenatal

All of our prenatal formulas contain adequate levels of the following vitamins and minerals necessary in supporting a healthy pregnancy. These include:

Folic Acid An essential B vitamin promoting healthy development, especially crucial in the first three months of fetal growth. Inadequate levels of folic acid have been linked to neural tube defects such as spina bifida and anencephaly, both conditions where the neural plate has failed to fuse. Low maternal levels of folic acid have also been linked to birth defects such as cleft palate, cleft lip, cardiovascular disorder and poor neurological development in infants. Iron Pregnancy and lactation increase the demands on a womans body for iron. Anemia is common in those women who dont obtain sufficient quantities of iron during this time.

Calcium During the last two trimesters of pregnancy and breastfeeding, your body absorbs more calcium from food than when you are not pregnant. Your baby needs this additional calcium to build healthy teeth and bones.

Recognizing a Quality Supplement

Would you recognize a great vitamin if you saw one? Can you spot quality? How should you compare one brand to another? What should you avoid? How can you get the most for your money when buying supplements? To choose vitamins and supplements wisely, these questions need to be answered. And, as we all know, quality varies from one supplement line to another making it difficult to know which lines represent a high quality product. The key is learning what to look for, what to avoid, and how to get the best value from your vitamin dollar. Heres a checklist to help you choose the supplement line that meets your standards: Look for a best by date (not a secret code) that clearly tells you how long this product will be effective. Without a best by date, there is no guaranteed potency by the time of consumption. Choose glass bottles whenever possible since dark glass bottles provide the best barrier to sunlight and moisture, ensuring maximum freshness and potency.

Check for unnecessary adders and fillers when comparing supplements, especially synthetic fillers. Ingredients such as carnuba wax, artificial flavors, and dyes are unnecessary, may hinder absorption, and in general are undesirable in dietary supplements. Consider avoiding products containing sugars, starches, yeast, or gluten, both because many individuals are sensitive to these ingredients and because they add no value to your dietary supplement.

Once youve determined the line of products right for your needs, there are some guidelines to keep in mind when selecting each particular vitamin or supplement suited to your nutritional needs: Dosages Select a dosage that is convenient for your lifestyle. Although its considered best to take multiple doses throughout the day, the most important issue is choosing a supplement that you will incorporate into your daily routine. Ingredient Sources Learn about the sources of ingredients in your vitamin. Generally, the source follows the ingredient and appears in parentheses. Different sources offer different benefits. To decide what is best for you, ask store personnel or try researching it yourself.

Ask our staff about the manufacturer of our vitamin line. Because we deal directly with the manufacturer, and put our name on their product, we are familiar with their production methods, labs and testing facilities, product quality, and their commitment to high standards.

Nutrients Read the label carefully to confirm that the levels of the nutrients match what you need written either as IUs (international units), mgs (milligrams), or mcgs (micrograms).

Getting the Right Fat

Why Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs)? The average American diet contains far too much saturated and trans fat and yet is deficient in the beneficial fatty acids needed in the daily diet. This situation poses a serious health threat, and may play a major role in the development of heart disease. The American Heart Association recommends at least two servings of fatty fish per week to decrease the risk of heart disease. This recommendation exists because fish contains essential fat compounds that provide numerous health benefits to the body. Since many people do not consume fish or other foods high in essential fats, supplements are an easy way to ensure adequate intake. "Good Fats" Examples of good fats are omega-6 and omega-3 monounsaturated fatty acids, which are essential to the daily diet. Good fats can be found in foods such as canola oil, walnuts, spirulina, green leafy vegetables, soybeans, borage oil, evening primrose and flaxseed oil, as well as fatty fish such as salmon, tuna, cod, mackerel and herring. Benefits of Good Fat -- EFAs Supports heart health Promotes healthy joints

Important for brain development and function Important for the nervous system and involved with immune function Popular for overall good health

"Bad Fats" Saturated and trans fatty acids are considered harmful in excess and the typical American diet includes far too much of these fats compared to the good fats stated above. Animal foods are highest in saturated fats as well as whole-milk dairy, coconut and palm oils. Trans fatty acids are found in ready-made baked goods, fried foods, and artificial dairy products. The key to a healthy diet is increasing the ratio of good vs. bad fats, which may be achieved by supplementation. Choose a supplement below from our brand of high quality, pure EFA products: Ultimate Omega Complex :

Fish, borage and flax are from non-genetically bioengineered sources free of herbicides and pesticides

EPA & DHA : Sourced from sardine, mackerel, anchovy, herring and capelin harvested from fresh, cold water sources, where the fish feed on plankton rich in omega-3 essential fatty acids Provides omega-3 essential fatty acids directly from EPA and DHA Tested for pesticides, PCBs and heavy metals

Vitamin E - The Key to Antioxidant Health

What Vitamin E Does Vitamin E may be the most well known dietary supplement there is. Its increasing popularity is due to an extensive amount of clinical research. Research demonstrates vitamin E may dramatically reduce the risk and incidence of heart disease. According to the Journal of the American Medical Association, vitamin E supplements can actually slow the progression of heart disease. Experts recommend supplementing with vitamin E because it is so difficult to consume the amount necessary to provide protective effects. The typical dosage is between 400 IU and 800 IU per day. To consume this amount from the diet, one would have to eat five cups of almonds or ten cups of wheat germ per day. Antioxidant Protection Vitamin E plays a very special role in the body as a "protector". What does it protect the body from? Damage caused by "free radicals". Free radicals are a silent unseen enemy that invades and attacks our bodies, contributing to aging, the risk of cancer, and heart disease. Oxygen molecules with "attitude", free radicals wreak havoc on the body through the negative charge they carry. With the help of antioxidants, this negative charge is neutralized, diminishing the destructive power of free radicals. Vitamin E is the bodys primary antioxidant. Others include vitamin C, beta carotene, and selenium. The Role of Supplements The average diet usually does not supply adequate vitamin E necessary for maximum prevention, therefore supplements are often warranted. Because there are several different types of vitamin E supplements, it is important to understand the terms used when discussing this nutrient.

Alpha-Tocopherol The most important consideration to make when choosing a vitamin E supplement is to choose the 100% natural form, d-alpha tocopherol, because our bodies use this form most efficiently. Other varieties such as beta, gamma, and delta tocopherols (often called "mixed" tocopherols) exist in nature along with alpha tocopherol. d versus dl: Natural versus Synthetic Unlike many vitamins whose synthetic form is "nature identical", synthetic vitamin E is not the same as natural vitamin E and has lower biological activity. Heres why: vitamin E can be either d-alpha tocopherol or dl-alpha tocopherol. The form that exists in our food and the form that our bodies need is the d form: d-alpha tocopherol.

Synthetic vitamin E is dl-alpha tocopherol and is not as biologically active. In fact, studies have indicated that synthetic vitamin E does not stay in the body nearly as long as natural vitamin E, making it much less effective. Be sure to take only the 100% natural form of vitamin E, dalpha tocopherol. All of our brand products contain only the natural form of vitamin E.

Vitamin E - The Key to Antioxidant Health

Acetate & Succinates Vitamin E in its "raw" state (d-alpha tocopherol) is in oil form. The oil form is "esterified" with acetate to better stabilize the vitamin E, maintaining its potency. In order to put it into tablets and hard gelatin capsules, it can be made into a dry form or esterified, using succinate, a carrier that is a compound naturally found in our bodies. This simply means that a natural "carrier", acetate or succinate, is added onto the vitamin E. When the nutrient is ingested, the carrier is removed and it goes back to d-alpha tocopherol in your body. Water Dispersible Vitamin E Water dispersible dry vitamin E is vegetarian, in a vegetable capsule and is esterified using succinate. This form of delivery offers an alternative to vegetarians who would like to supplement with vitamin E.

These esterified forms of vitamin E are written as d-alpha tocopheryl acetate (the oil form) or d-alpha tocopheryl succinate (the dry form). Acetate in the softgel and succinate in dry form hard capsule protect the vitamin E from potency loss until it gets into your system where it is then converted back into d-alpha tocopherol. Using a carrier also helps us to meet our best-by date labeling requirements, which ensures that you are getting all the good nutrition that the label states. Remember, esterified vitamin E is still natural as long as you see the "d" in front of the name versus "dl." It is d versus dl that determines whether it is natural or synthetic, not the carrier. Our Feature Vitamin E Products Our Vitamin E Products are 100% natural d-alpha tocopherol, the finest natural source of vitamin E, and are available in a softgel or vegetarian capsule. Sound Nutrition for Weight Loss

Weight loss involves taking in less calories and/or expending (burning) calories through physical activity. However, simply cutting calories often results in not ingesting enough important nutrients (not to mention slowing the weight loss process). In addition, severely reducing fat intake may result in consuming less essential good fats, such as omega-3s. When changing your diet to lose weight, remember to ensure a well-rounded intake of vitamins, minerals, protein and essential fats. Regardless of the diet program you choose, follow these easy tips to maintain your health: ONE... Take a multiple vitamin and mineral supplement daily Its crucial to maintain adequate levels of vitamins and minerals, especially when dieting.

Consider our Basic Multi - A convenient, single dose per day tablet containing key minerals and vitamins. Two factors make this supplement a necessity. First, many diets restrict dairy intake, drastically reducing calcium consumption. In addition, the average American is deficient in magnesium, even before dieting. Because these minerals affect the health of many systems, adding a calcium/magnesium supplement is strongly recommended.

TWO... Add a calcium/magnesium supplement to your routine

Try one of our calcium and magnesium products, such as Cal-Mag Chelate or CalMag Citrate - Both are high potency calcium magnesium supplements providing 1000 mg of calcium and 500 mg of magnesium to achieve increased levels of these key nutrients. Ask about our brands complete list of calcium and magnesium products. Increasing your fiber intake during dieting may help promote weight loss. The bulk associated with fibrous foods creates a full, satisfied feeling. As a result, you may find yourself reducing your food consumption, simply because you arent as hungry.

THREE... Include fiber in your daily diet

For an excellent source of fiber, try our Super Fiber Tabs - a concentrated, high quality fiber supplement in a convenient dosage. We also offer Whole Psyllium Husk, a bulk-forming fiber supplying a gentle cleansing action to the body.

FOUR... Mix a protein powder with your juice or skim milk at breakfast

Cutting the fat from your diet often means limiting good protein sources, like meat. Your body needs protein while dieting to build lean muscle and maintain your metabolism, continuing to support your weight loss program and your health. Add protein to your weight loss program with one of our protein powders, such as Non-GMO Soy Protein Powder or Show Me the Whey Protein Powder in three delicious flavors. Powders are a great source of dietary protein for a low carb and low fat diet.

Sound Nutrition for Weight Loss

FIVE... Be Sure to consume "good" fats and Essential Fatty Acids daily. The balance between "good" and "bad" fats is critical to a healthy heart, skin, joints and cellular health. Dieting often results in a loss of both good and bad fats, which can lead to negative health consequences. Add these essential fats to your daily diet: Fatty fish such as salmon, tuna, herring, halibut, as well as canola oil, flaxseed oil, walnuts and green leafy vegetables. And, dont forget to add an essential fat supplement to ensure adequate intake. Try our Flax Seed Oil, Concentrated Omega-3, or see our "Getting the Right Fat" fact sheet for a complete listing of our brand of essential fat products. Animal foods are highest in saturated fats as well as whole-milk dairy, coconut and palm oils. Trans fatty acids are found in some ready-made baked goods, fried foods, and artificial dairy products.

Cut the following saturated and trans fats from your daily routine:

Remember, no matter what diet youre on, cut unnecessary calories and saturated or trans fatty acids, not nutrition!

SIX... Use Additional Weight Loss Support Products:

Calorie Quencher- a great stimulant-free starch and fat stopper, providing both Phase2TM and LipoSan Ultra. Complete Citrimax - contains Garcinia cambogia a natural stimulant-free fruit extract that helps slow the bodys production of fats from carbohydrates. Kelp Vinegar Lecithin B6 - Helps support metabolism and water balance.

CLA - Pure Tonalin Conjugated Linoleic Acid Complex. Shown in clinical studies to help maintain lean muscle mass.

Womens Health
Health is a proactive choice, and a choice that should reflect the specific needs of your body. There are dietary supplements to give women options designed specifically to meet these various needs. Whether your needs are for prenatal support, support to make the transition through menopause, post-menopausal supplements, or just overall female health, we offer products that let you address your health requirements. Female Health Ages 18-45 It is important for women of childbearing age to meet daily nutritional requirements, especially for vitamins and minerals such as calcium, iron and folic acid. It is during these years that women prepare for future health, building stores of calcium supporting the prevention of osteoporosis as well as maintaining an intake of folic acid to prevent birth defects in future pregnancies. Additionally, nearly 20% of all women and 50% of pregnant women are iron deficient causing anemia. This condition leads to fatigue, pale skin, weakness, headache and can lower immune response to infection. Because normal dietary intake rarely supplies the required amount of crucial nutrients, in planning for pregnancy, it is necessary to supplement these vitamins and minerals at least 3-6 months prior to conception. Even if you are not planning for pregnancy, our formulas provide optimal levels of nutrients for overall female health during these important years.
