Hi Shaun, Please see below shadow report for June 30th 2011.

Number of calls shadowed: 4 CASE-1: Client wanted to modify European Stress TestTemplate such that it only contained banks that had relation to the clients organization. The Analyst politely told the client that he will back to him with the resolution to his query after some research pertaining to the modification of the template. I would have tried to handle the call in the same way as the resolution wasnt as easy as it seemed and template experts needed to be consulted. I learned that there is a separate dedicated template building department. No I did not know the resolution before hand and would have had to consult a senior colleague for direction. I learned about a whole new department of SNL which can be very useful in the future.

CASE-2: Client wanted Insurance Regulatory Filing (PNC-AS) for Missouri Hospital Plan. The Analyst helped the client locate the document on SNLi using the Documents tab under News, Events and Filings. I would have handled the call in the same way as the resolution was pretty straight forward. I learned that not all queries are tough; sometimes simply guiding the client to the resolution is enough. Yes I knew the resolution. I learned that effective communication skills are paramount in case resolution and play a big role in our dealing with clients.

CASE-3: Client wanted to know why he was seeing a discrepancy in the insurance regulatory filing information pertaining to Accident Health Premiums, LOB Total Combined A & H and the figures pulled in SNLxl. The Analyst explained to the client that Insurance companies sometimes display their financial information under different entity types (P&C, Life, Health) which can be a reason for the discrepancy.

After telling this to the client the Analyst further mentioned that he would get back to the client with a confirmed resolution shortly. I would have taken sometime to research upon the above mentioned query and would have ultimately told him the same reason. I learned that there can be a lot of discrepancies between insurance filing data and the data that is provided by SNLxl due to the fact that insurance companies which have multiple entities can disclose Life entitys data in Health or Vice Versa. No I did not know the resolution beforehand and would have had to do sufficient research for its resolution. I learned that no matter how sure you are of a particular question, always confirm from others or industry experts before providing the end resolution to the client.

CASE-4: Client wanted to know why under Capital Offerings he was getting N/A for certain fields in SNLxl. The Analyst troubleshooted the query for some moments but then transferred the case to a Capital Markets representative. I would have handled the case in more or less the same way as the Analyst did however I would have taken more time in researching upon the case. I learned that some cases are department specific depending upon their difficulty level. No I did not know the resolution to the query. It was a department specific case due to its difficulty level. However if granted sufficient time I would have eventually cracked it. I learned that if all else fails, consulting specific departments for certain cases can be very helpful.
