Experiment#1:PlanarAntennaCAD
Purpose:
Tobecomefamiliarwithanindustrystandardmicrowaveplanarstructuresimulator(AnsoftDesigner)and employitinthedesignofamicrostrippatchantennaandamicrostrippatcharray.
Introduction:
DesigneremploysEMfieldanalysistoaccuratelysimulateplanarmicrowavestructuresforwhichno equivalentcircuitmodelexists.Nonstandardtransmissionlinegeometriesandmostprintedantennascannotbe handledbyatoollikeLibraandthereforerequireEManalysis.AstructurecanbesimulatedinDesigneroncea projecthasbeendefined.Theprojectconsistsof Layeredmaterialinformation(i.e.substrateparameters). Layoutofeachlayer. Excitationandanalysisinformation. Postprocessinginformation(i.e.desiredsimulationoutputssuchassparametersorradiationpatterns).
