PREFACE
This project is build for the FTJ PVT LTD. In this project it is tried to fulfill all the necessary and given requirements of the FTJ PVT LTD. This project is not an open source project and cannot be use for each and every airline company. This project is a desktop application. This application is specially designed for the booking agents of the FTJ PVT LTD. This project of AIRLINES RESERVATION SYSTEM gives all the information of the flight as well as available seats and price of each class. Interested customers can also book the seats according to their needs instantly. This application software is specially designed for FTJ Pvt. Ltd to fulfill its desired needs. This organization provides services of flights between four metropolitan cities of India. FTJ Pvt. Ltd provides exactly one flight between each metropolitan city daily. If there is any change in the schedule like change in timing, fare, no of seats, etc then this project allow user to make update of those changes and get the schedule updated.

ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION

This project is made to store all the relevant information of an airline reservation system. Like book a ticket of a customer, update the schedule of the flight, provide relevant info of the flight, etc. This will prevent a person from searching many papers and files and also to manage them. If a customer had to know about any flight then this software is able to help him/her very frequently.

EXISTING SYSTEM:Existing system of airline reservation of FTJ PVT LTD is manual i.e. all the transaction or the information is recorded in the registered and as simple text files on computer. The person needs of particular information have to through the register and the text files and then prepare the information needed by him manually. Beside this there are many other drawbacks with the existing system which are listed as under:y y Flexibility in generating of information: - The generation of information in existing information system takes long time and they are manually prepared. Long time taken to draw conclusion: - As individual files are maintained for each information it is very difficult to compile information, measure performance over a period and draw conclusion from the information stored in different files. User friendliness: - The system is not easy to learn and understand. A native user cannot use the system effectively. User satisfaction: - The system is such that it does not stand up to the user expectation like easy and faster retrieval of information. Response time: - Being manually driven, the response of all operation is very slow. Error handling: - In case there arise some error in recovering or capitation of information, it is very cumbersome to trace. More time consuming: - Work carried out by the staff at various stages is highly time consuming. Error proem resources: - Recourses being used by the informative media were provided by the organization long ago. Due to wear and tear with the resources, they are highly error proem.

PROPOSED SYSTEM:After a detailed study of the existing system, it is evident that proposed system is possible for the organization. It is required to have a computerized information system with the help of which all tasks can be processed more accurately and quickly. To achieve this it is necessary to design and develop a new system which will have the following benefits over existing system:y Flexibility in generating information: - The generation of reports in the proposed system will take minimum time and they are electronically prepared. As a result, it is highly accurate. Less time to taken to draw a conclusion: - It will be easy for the users of the system to compile information at a very high place, measure the performance over a period and draw conclusion from the information retrieving by using the proposed system. User satisfaction: - The system is such, which is stand up to the user expectation easy and faster retrieval of information. Easy in maintaining information: - as new information are being updated or added to and released from other respective courses every year. It will be highly used friendly to track and maintain presentation of all the flights. User friendly: - The system is very easy to learn and understand. A native user will be able to use the system effectively. Highly accurate: - Information being prepared of electronically can be said as accurate which is first and foremost condition for taking decision. Less time consuming: - Work carried out by staff at various stages will be less time consuming. User friendly interfacing: - Since main interaction of the system will be with the user, the user interface will be interactive and meaningful. Formatted output: - The information generated by the proposed system is highly formatted and help the user to reach the conclusion quickly. Better organization of information: - Proposed system has the capability to express the information in a better way. Proposed system modern technique for storage and retrieval information.
