Not able to extract the "PLA" in J2i5 transaction The tick mark show red! No entry in J_2IACCBAL !

How to approach this issue

You'll have to update the opening balances for PLA. J2IACCBAL is the opening/closing balance table.

You'll have to update the opening balances for PLA. J2IACCBAL is the opening/closing balance table.

Go to SE16 and give the table name as 'J_2IACCBAL'. In the resulting screen, give your Excise group and execute. Now check the values. If you dont find any value for PLABED, PLAAED, PLAECS etc., then you do not have the values updated. So, you'll have to manually enter in this table. The previous time, they might have done for some other excise group where this info was available. Or the entries here might have been deleted. This is a one-time exercise which you'll have to do only when you first start using CIN. This table update need not be done every month. If you think that the extract was run for the same excise group last time, then you need to check the last extract date and run from the next day

I have missed out some details on this issue, this activity was done last time in march 2009 and later the client is not been able to carry out this activity, let me know how to solve this issue.

The Issue is resolved, I have a doubt - see the 'J_2IACCBAL' must have some value right? 1. If the table doesnot have any value how the PLA Extract happnes.

2. Where the PLA amount is stored? What do i understand if the table as no value and the PLA Extract runs sucessfully? Kinldy clear this doubt.

PLA Extract is a transaction to help prepare your reporting. Its actually a query tool which will pool values from different tables and put them into a report table. That report table will be used when you print your registers. For preparing the extract, actually the J_2IACCBAL table is not mandatory. But in your register, you'll have to show your opening and closing balance as per the law. There are some functional checks in place as to check whether the Extract is run for all periods. If your opening balance is zero (if you had just started your operations), the register will calculate only the current period values. All your CIN tables start with J_1I*. The excise transaction values are found in the following tables. J_1IEXCHDR Excise invoice header detail J_1IEXCDTL Excise invoice line item details

J_2IACCBAL is only for the opening and closing balance during the initial setup. It does not contain the transaction values. The periodic values are calculated from the transaction tables.
