Batch type centrifugals

The application areas of the fully automatic BWS batch type centrifugals cover solid-liquid separation of crystalline massecuites in the food processing industry. The most frequent applications in the processing of sugar cane and sugar beets are white and raw sugar massecuites.

Highest production/h:
Highest g-force level with 1250g for white sugar, thus shor-

test spinning time

Achievement of a residual color of appr. 1.75% of massecuite

color in shortest cycle time

Achievement of a residual moisture of 0.5% of massecuite

moisture in shortest cycle time

Highest g-force for removing the non-crystal particles from

the sugar crystal, thus minimized amount of wash water and minimum dissolving of sugar
Reduced cycle time through optimized cycle control for in-

creased cycle rate

Intelligent control system:

Proprietary developed BWS-Centrifugal Control System Ultrasonic level sensor for crystal layer thickness Accurate layer thickness for each cycle Patented application for automated feeding control Patented color change detecting system thus minimized of

amount wash water

Innovative construction for reproducible and precise results Connection to process control system Comprehensive communication technique in conjunction

with intelligent interlocking of connected centrifuges

BWS Batch type centrifugals most efcient and safe

Batch type centrifugals

Lowest energy consumption:

Energy consumption below 1kWh/cycle in white sugar production Based on 0.5% residual moisture minimized energy consumption in the next process step of

drying Easy to operate:

Logically arranged graphical operation guidance Animated status report Highest level of automation Graphical and language-independent support for servicing

Highest safety standard:

Design of the whole control system is based on the EC machinery directive of 2010 Centrifugal Monitoring System for diagnostics and analysis of all rotating parts Alarm and signaling tool via Email or SMS

BWS centrifugals more than 100 years experience and innovation for the food processing industry

Continuous centrifugals

The application areas of the fully automated BWS continuous centrifugals cover solid-liquid separation of crystalline massecuites in the food processing industry. Most frequent applications in the processing of sugar cane and sugar beets are high viscosity raw sugar and low-grade massecuites.

BWS honeycomb calandrias maximized heating surface to minimize boiling process costs

Vacuum pans with honeycomb calandria

Easy retrot of existing vacuum pans (ribbon, lenticular, tubular calandria etc.) is a key advantage of the BWS honeycomb calandria system.

An optical comparison provides convincing proof for this solution

Honeycomb calandria

Tubular calandria

Advantages of the honeycomb calandria

Largest possible heating surface with compact overall dimensions Smallest possible incrustation area at the upper side of the calandria (75 % less than for a tubular

calandria)
Less steam consumption for steaming out the pan Excellent ow conditions guarantee a homogeneous massecuite Dead zones and local overheating reduced to a minimum

BWS honeycomb calandrias hexagonal for optimal results

Vacuum pans with honeycomb calandria

BWS retrot concept

Use of existing installation No changes to controls or piping No modication of the building

Advantages of retrot
Signicantly improved performance Honeycomb segments completely prepared for installation Up to 25 % extended heating surface Less maintenance costs and long lifetime
