Miniano, Ph.D. The course places the participant into the holistic perspective of the dynamic nature of a product or service as it flows from its point of origin as a raw material up to the point of consumption or use. The course also develops a solid grounding in the theory of supply chain design, which includes strategies for customer service, quality, logistics, inventory management, and integrated supply chain management. Related supply chain activities such as forecasting, postponement, sourcing, network design, and use of different technologies are also covered. It also presents to the participants the essential factors that must be appropriately considered in making supply chain decisions. Cognitive: 1. Synthesize the fundamental strategies involved in managing supply chains. 2. Develop problem-solving skills related to supply chain 3. Analyze the processes, methodologies and strategies involved in managing global sourcing 4. Gain knowledge about the usual problems that may be encountered in the different levels of the supply chain. 5. Determine the new trends and development in the field of supply chain that may affect how business organizations are being run globally. Affective: 1. 2. The course format for instruction is anchored in four prongs: Direct teaching will cover paper presentations and lecture notes showing the wide research / readings on the topic by quoting varied authors. Interactive learning on different Supply Chain cases Experiential learning in supply chain researches and presentation sessions simulating an actual professional business setting. Independent learning on the assigned text readings

Portfolio 4: Analyze three (3) business cases in the field of supply chain. Portfolio 5: A Supply Chain Audit of an existing company in the Philippines.
