SURETY BOND

Whereas Abdul Qadeer S/o Muhammad Tahir Resident of Village Gul Muhammad Shahani Tehsil Dadu
District Dadu to be referred to hereinafter as appointee, has been selected for appointment on contract
basis as JUNIOR ENGINEER (ELECTRICAL) in terms of appointment letter No. 9090/GMH/Admn/E-
I-D/ dated 15-12-2007 and the appointee has accepted the appointment. In terms thereof, and Whereas
one of the conditions for employing him on contract as Junior Engineer (Electrical) according to the letter
of appointment, referred to above, is that he will furnish surety bond in the sum of Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees
Fifty Thousand Only) along with a surety in the like amount for the due and faithful discharge of his
duties as a Junior Engineer (Electrical) under the Pakistan Water & Power Development Authority for
contract period from the date of this assuming the charge of his duties.

2. KNOWN ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS that we, the appointee and

called Sureties) in consideration of the selection of our heirs, executors administrators, to pay the Pakistan
Water and Power Development Authority or its successors or assigns upon demand and without demur the
sum of Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees Fifty thousand only) as calculated to be the honest and genuine pre-estimate
of the damages that the Authority may suffer in consequence of the failure of appointee to perform and
fulfill the duties and to serve under the Authority for not less than contractual period from the date of
assuming the charge of this duties.

3. The condition of the surety is that the amount aforesaid shall be paid to the Authority as liquidated
damages and not as penalty in the event of the breach of contract by appointee in not serving the
Authority duly and faith fully for contractual period commencing from the date of assuming the charge of
his duties under the Authority.
4. If the appointee shall faithfully perform the conditions so to serve the Authority this surety shall
become null and void, otherwise the same shall remain in full force and effect.

5. Signed by the above bonder and the two sureties conscious of Allah’s command contained in Sura
Bani Israil Verse 34 that is “And Fulfill (Every) Engagement will be enquired into (on the day of
reckoning)” (compulsory for Muslims). Non Muslims may delete at their choice, reference to Allah’s
command and above para in their case shall therefore, be worded as under.
