1) The order of updating Update in the order of NIC F/W CU F/W PU F/W. (First update the NIC.

The rest of the order does not matter.) 2) Updating NIC F/W Connect the printer and PC via USB cable. Start USBtool\Hostif.exe. Select Connection Connect I/F USB from the menu.

When the printer is correctly recognized, the following screen appears. (Example of PX735)

Click OK to complete the connection. The following screen appears.

Select File management Block transmission in the menu.

Click Select file to send button. Select NIC: PJL_pd016_w0004_c0003_netAP.bin. Click Send button. When sending was completed, select Connection Disconnect I/F from the menu. The printer operation panel shows FW DOWNLOAD. Wait until it is completed. When the display changes to ONLINE, reboot the printer.

3) Updating CU F/W Caution) Until you complete all the procedures, do not turn off the printer power. The update procedure document prepared by F/W group refers to multiple files. We merged those files and created Erase.bin and write.bin to make sure that you can send them at once. Use the same sending method and the tool as NIC F/W. The tool sometimes remembers the file that it previously sent. In that case, delete it. Erasing Flash ROM Using USBtool\Hostif.exe, send CU\erase.bin. The operation panel displays FLASH ERASE. Using USBtool\Hostif.exe, send CU\write.bin. The operation panel shows FLASH DOWNLOAD. If it ended normally (PASSED), the process completes. If you do not get PASSED, re-send CU\write.bin. When the operation panel shows PASSED, turn the printer power off.

4) Updating PU F/W Downloading the loader Turn on the printer power while holding down ONLINE, ENTER and MENU(-) on the operation panel simultaneously. The operation panel shows LOADER VERSION 00.0X. Using USBtool\Hostif.exe, send PU\ PX734_LDv000009.prn. If the tool does not recognize the printer, disconnect the USB cable and wait for approx. 10 seconds. The operation panel shows WRITEING 0xXXXX / 0xXXXX. When the operation panel shows PU DATA CRC CHECK OK, turn off the power. Downloading PU F/W Turn on the printer power while holding down ONLINE, ENTER and MENU(-) on the operation panel simultaneously. The operation panel shows LOADER VERSION 00.09. Using USBtool\Hostif.exe, send PU\ PX734_PUv000028.prn. If the tool does not recognize the printer, disconnect the USB cable and wait for approx. 10 seconds. The operation panel shows WRITEING 0xXXXX / 0xXXXX. Writing would take 5-10 minutes. When the operation panel shows PU DATA CRC CHECK OK, turn off the power.
