Introduction
Life is an adventure of hills and valleys. Of that we can all agree. We all have those moments of triumph. And tragedy. Of winning. And losing. Of giving. And getting. Of trying and failing. Of trying and succeeding. We live in a world where we are always wanting more. As soon as weve achieved one thing were on to the next. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesnt. So what makes the difference? How come sometimes we succeed? And sometimes things dont go our way? More often than not, we forget all the things weve been taught about Law of Attraction and we fall into old habits and routines. We pray. We want. We wish for. We beg. And then we cant understand why things dont work for us. That old way of being, that old energy will not move you into a place where you can manifest what you want in your life. We cant sort of change and expect that our world will change. When you live from your heart.... youre world will align.

1 Clearing the way


The mansion, the three car garage or some other extravagant item is frequently what we think we want. We all have that list of things we believe will make our lives better. If we have those things then well be.... happy, fulfilled, content, at peace... Does this really fill what we want it to fill? Or are we looking for a sense of fulfillment? A sense of having the best out there so we feel like were the best out there? Is there an underlying sense of not being good enough, needing to have material things to say to everyone, Look at what I have? Are you attempting to fill a void in your life with that extravagant item?

I will be happy when So often we think material things will fill the void, make us happy. We look for answers in the external world when really the answers lie within us. In order to get what we want in life we need to be really clear ourselves as to what it is we are looking for. Were good at stating what we do not want but not so much what we do want. For example, people will say, I dont want to have any debt. Try and turn this around state what it is you really want. Do you find this difficult? Stating you want to be debt free still has the word debt, which is what you dont want. It implies that you have to have a debt to be free of it. We are still coming from the negative. From a place of lack. Try stating it again in the positive. As though it were a fact. An already happening occurrence.

Whatever your desire is for your future, you have the power to make the difference. Your life is as rich as you believe it is. Your life is as healthy as you believe it is. Your life is what you believe it is.

Exercise:
1. Write down a list of 10 things you really want. Now beside each, write down what having this thing will provide you, bring to you. Be honest this exercise is for your eyes only. If it is not bringing what you want, ask yourself the question Why do you want it?

2 We Manifest Our Current Reality


What we believe is the basis for what we manifest.
People have been manifesting what they want for a very long time. Unfortunately too often it is in a negative way. So what does it mean when we say we want to manifest something? Manifest is defined as: to make evident or certain by showing or displaying.

Do you know a person, who when they decide they dont want something to happen, develop a health condition, become ill? Suddenly they have the flu, stomach problems, or sometimes something more serious. Has this ever happened to you? They are manifesting this so that they can stop the situation or change the situation so they dont have to deal with it or be part of it. Theyre not consciously trying to get ill but their fear or desire for that event/situation not to occur, is stronger than their ability to believe they have the power to make the situation positive for them. Think of a time when youve been sick (flu, cold, something more serious). What was or had been going on at that time in your life? When we get sick, we are manifesting what we are dealing with our fears, our stress, our not

wanting to deal with something. None of us want to manifest the negative things that go on in our lives but because we have deep down negative beliefs they impact what happens every day. It seems easier to let negative situations occur rather than deal with our fears and negative beliefs. Many of us arent even aware of those beliefs and the impact they have on our lives.

To change our reality we must change our beliefs about ourselves.


If we have the power to make ourselves unwell then we have the power to make ourselves well, also. Look at Louise Hay (You Can Heal Your Life - 1984) she had cancer. Using meditation and positive affirmations, she was able to cure herself.

Norman Cousins.was diagnosed with a crippling life threatening collagen disease. He did not want to believe what the doctors were saying so he changed his current reality. He used humor/ laughter to cure himself (Anatomy of Illness as Perceived by the patient: Reflections on healing and regeneration 1979). It worked for him. He recovered.

We need to stop looking without and start looking within.


Stop and think about that for a moment. This means it is in your hands to change how life is treating you. If its not good then you have the power to do something about it. If its good and you want to make it better than you have the power to do that.

Close your eyes and repeat the following, five times. Say the words slowly. Allow the words to settle within your mind and body. I have the power to change my current reality. When we believe in ourselves and allow ourselves to come from the heart we can truly be authentic to who we are meant to be we can manifest the life we want.

we just tend to call it life.

Your reality is as strong as the belief you rest it on.

Exercises:
1. What are your beliefs about yourself? For each of the following write down what your belief is about yourself good and/or bad. No one else need see this list, it is for your eyes only, so be true to yourself.

a. Self worth b. Beauty c. Intelligence d. Character e. Relationships f. Work ethic g. Ability h. Athleticism i. Coordination j. Creativity k. Confidence

2. What do you really want in your life? Make a list of one hundred things that you truly want.Keep the list somewhere where you can refer to and add to it often. You may find this challenging at first, persist. You really can come up with 100 things.

3 Power of Intentions
Wishing for something or praying for change is how people tend to deal with bad luck or when things go wrong - the kids are sick, the car has a flat, theres construction on your work route, the dog chewed your new shoes and youre late for a meeting. We make deals with our higher power (God, Buddha, the Universe, etc.) that well do anything as long as s/he will get us out of that situation. Or people accept it as their due in life. They feel they deserve it.

This keeps us in the cycles and patterns that got us to this point to begin with. When our language is negative, our thoughts are negative. So what we manifest tends to be negative. We may be able to wish ourselves out of one bad situation only to find ourselves in another one. Watch your language: Do you say things around work, such as: I hate my job. Its a dead end job. My boss is a pain in the butt. Im going crazy. Ive got to get out of this job. Or around personal issues, such as: My life sucks. Im not going anywhere. Im in the dumps. Two steps forward, ten steps back.

We may find a way to change our situation, only to find ourselves in another similar situation, a situation we dont want to be in. We then start to think there is no way to get out of this.

We dont understand how the same things keep happening to us.


Our words carry a lot of power. When we use negative language cant, wont, not, should, its killing me, its a dead end then our subconscious mind and our body hears and recognizes the literal meaning of the word.

So to change our world we need to change our language.


What we dont know or have forgotten, is that the power to make change, lies within each of us.

We need to recognize that until we change our negative language and negative thoughts it is almost impossible for our lives to change to the positive, to the life we want. The more you focus on the positive the more your subconscious mind will recognize it and respond. We can retrain our mind.

Exercises:
1. Write down three affirmations that have meaning for you and will move you into a positive place. Find a quiet place. Close your eyes. Take a deep breath in. Slowly let it out. Take another deep breath in and slowly let it out. And one more deep breath in and slowly let it out. Now say your first affirmation. Slowly repeat it again. See it. Hear it. Feel it. Believe it. Give it life Now say the second affirmation.

Slowly repeat it again. See it. Hear it. Feel it. Believe it. Give it life Now say the third affirmation. Slowly repeat it again. See it. Hear it. Feel it. Believe it. Give it life Repeat as needed. Play with it make a poster with your affirmations and post it where you will see it frequently. 2. What are positive words that focus on what you want in life? Do a word collage of all these positive words that will bring your focus to where and what your life can offer. Post it where youll look at it daily. Say the words to yourself, daily. See it. Hear it. Feel it. Believe it. Give it life.

4 Being in the Moment


When we live in the past and focus on all that has gone wrong or was bad, worse still, when we think we have deserved it, we will remain in the patterns and situations that are currently in our lives. When we live in the past, we stay in the past. When we dont forgive ourselves, we dont move forward When we live in the future and plan that we will make change when everything lines up

all nine planets line up, the government starts being honest and forthright with us, oil companies stop charging us overinflated prices for gas, etc. When all this occurs then we will be able to move forward. Put our plan into action. Only put off to tomorrow, what you are willing to die having left undone. Picasso Robert Holdens Book Happiness Now, asks us, What are we waiting for? Why not be happy right now?

The key to moving beyond all that is going wrong in your life is to be present in the moment. In order to change how we are showing up and where we want to be in life, we first must acknowledge where we are at. Acknowledge all good and bad - that has brought you to this point. Recognize that it played a role in your life good or bad and that you no longer need it. Let go of all the negative that has been and keeps showing up in your life. Focus on the positives that are in your life, and have been in your life. Sometimes this can be tough but there are moments, even if fleeting, that are positive. Look for the positive and you will find it.

Exercises:
1. For the next twenty-four hours, focus on all the positive that occurs during this time frame. Write it down. 2. What are the positives that are present in your daily life? List at least ten things. 3. Beginning today what changes can you make to create more positive in your life? 4. Congratulate yourself and acknowledge yourself for already taking the first step. Come up with how you will celebrate all of your successes, no matter how small.

5 We Find What We Look For


Have you ever bought a new vehicle only to find that everyone seems to be driving the same one as you. And its the same color. How can that be? Its because of our focus. We find what we look for. Because youve got a new vehicle thats what you are focused on. Therefore that is what you see. Everyone has the same one as you. Really, today is no different than yesterday except that what you are now paying attention to has changed. It seems to you like there is a big

change, but the change is only in what you are focusing on. So in everyday life, when we focus on all that is going wrong then that is all we see - what we focus on. The more we focus on the negative, the more it seems to be happening. The more we focus on failing the more we fail. So how can we move forward if you cant see beyond today? Beyond the present reality? It is during these times of strife that it seems to be the toughest to focus on anything else. Yet it is the most important time to do so. When we look at the positive (even if all you can come up with is that someone smiled at you), the more youll notice it. Stay focused on the good. On the positive. The more you notice it the more it happens. In reality it has always been there.

Soon you wont have to search for it. It will be your focus. It will be your life.

Focus on what can be.

Exercises:
1. If today was a new day with no past, what would it look like? Write it down. 2. Do a picture collage of all those things you want in your life and those things that you currently want to hold onto. Use magazines to cut out pictures and paste on your collage, or draw them on. Allow yourself to be creative, have fun developing your manifestation board.

3. Now that you have the picture collage picture all of those things in motion. See it as happening now 4. Take action. What are two things you can do today that will put what you want to manifest in motion? What are two things you can do every day to work towards what you want to manifest.

6 Moving Beyond This Moment


Often when things (good or bad) happen in our lives, we get caught up in them. We tend to forget about our lives, our daily habits, our routines and we react to what is going on. Much of the way we may react is habit, is pre-programmed. We tend to look at the world and blame it. Blame others for what is going on. We act like we have no control over what is going on.

True power comes from within.

We can learn a lot from when negative things are happening in our lives. After all we are manifesting them. Whether we really understand that process or not. When a situation arises that is bringing up negative emotions in you, it is crucial that you take the time to step back and look at the situation as though an unbiased bystander. It is imperative to separate yourself from the situation. Then you can evaluate what is going on and what it is bringing up in you. What feelings are showing up in you. With practice you will be able to dig a little deeper and determine what your beliefs are behind those feelings and be able to work on changing them. For now use this simply as a way to reframe what is going on when negative things happen. How can you now look at that situation in a positive light?

So how do I manifest what I want?


The same way. In manifesting something negative, strong negative underlying beliefs, negative thoughts and a negative view of things are keeping the negative happening. Many of us have spent our lives with one or more negative beliefs about ourselves.

To get the positive, focus on the positive

Focusing on the positive means you need to go within and really look at what your inner beliefs about yourself are. Focus on affirmations that will help you change negative beliefs to positive ones. When you do this life can be much simpler and positive things will manifest more easily. Manifesting means more than wishing for something and it will be so. It means that you have a deep rooted belief that will direct how that manifestation will show up in the world. The strength of the beliefs and the emotional charge you have toward it will also determine to what extent the manifestation will arrive. When we set intentions so that we can manifest things, we need to be clear, concise and open to what may appear. For example, I set the intention that I want ten people to show up to my workshops. Well I got the ten people, but they showed up over three different workshops.

I have the power to make change in my life. Exercises:


1. Write 5 affirmations that are truly based on going within and changing your inner beliefs. 2. Write a plan: a. What would happen if you could change those negative beliefs to positive ones? b. What are the positive beliefs youd like to have about yourself? c. What difference could that make in your life? And how would it make you feel d. What do you need to do to make that happen? e. What will keep you moving forward? If you have followed along and done all of the exercises outlined in this book you are well on your way to creating a life you desire rather than a life you react to. You are now in the drivers seat.
