Comprehensive review of the STCW Convention and Code

One of the principles is to provide for flexibility in terms of compliance and for required levels of training, certification and watch keeping arrangements due to innovation in technology The draft amendments suggest 84 new competence areas where methods for demonstrating competence is approved simulator training, where appropriate
