WRITTEN SELF-FACILITATION WORKSHEET

Enter your belief below and then question it in writing using the following questions and turnaround: (Continue on blank paper if you run out of room.) Belief: ___________________________________________________________________________ 1. Is it true (the belief from above)? Possible follow-ups:

If your answer is no, then continue with question 3. If your answer is yes, write the answers to the following questions as they apply to your situation:
What is the reality of it? Did it happen?

Whose business is it? What do I want? What is the evidence or proof that this is true? Make a written list. Investigate each statement of proof using all four questions and the turnaround.

2. Can you absolutely know that its true?

Ask yourself the following questions as they apply to your situation:

Possible follow-ups: Can I know more than God/reality/what is? Can I really know what is best in the long run for my path or another persons path? Can I really know that this is the best thing in the long run? 3. How do you react when you think that thought?

Write about how you treat yourself, others, and the situation when you believe this thought. Be specific. Write about what you do and say when you believe this thought. Write about how these reactions feel inside of you.
3A. Possible follow-ups: What does it feel like to believe the thought? When you believe that thought, where does the feeling hit you, where do you feel it in your body? Describe the feelings that happen physically when you believe that thought. Notice how it feels. How far does the feeling travel? Describe it. How do you treat yourself and others (especially the person you wrote about) when you believe and feel that thought? Make a list of what you do, say and think about them even in your mind. Is this when your mind moves to food, alcohol, or? How do you treat yourself when you believe and feel that thought? How have you lived your life? Be specific. Is this when you resort to addictions? If so, what specifically?

Where does your mind travel when you attach to that thought? Who or what does your mind attack and how? Be specific. Whose business are you in when you think that thought? (List any underlying beliefs that surface, and inquire later) When you hold that belief, what do you get out of it? How have you lived your life in the past because you believed that thought? Be specific. Close your Eyes. See the past. What payoffs do you get for holding onto that belief? What do I get out of believing this thought? When you hold that belief what do you get out of it? What does it cost me? What am I avoiding when I think that thought? What have I done to reinforce this belief? If I let go of this thought whats the worst that could happen? What do you fear would happen if you didnt believe that thought? ____________________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________

3B. Can I see a reason to drop this thought? If no, check out your list of reactions to the thought. 3C. Can I find one peaceful reason to keep this thought? If your answer is no, then continue with question 4. If your answer is yes, then ask yourself the following question: Is there stress associated with this reason for keeping this thought?
4. Who would you be without the thought? Possible follow-ups: Close your eyes and imagine yourself with that person (in that situation) without this belief. How does it feel? What do you see? Try to imagine how you would live your life if you didnt believe that thought? How would you treat others differently without that thought?

Turn the thought statement around.

Write the reversals to self, to other (and to the opposite if it applies). Discover how each turnaround is true for you. Write a list of specific examples of where you see the turnaround in your life.
(Statements can be turned around to yourself, to the other, to the opposite, and to my thinking wherever it feels as true or truer for you.) Possible follow-ups: Is this turnaround as true as or truer than your original statement? Where do you experience this turnaround in your life now? Do you see any other turnarounds that seem as true or truer?
