Speakers' Profiles: MAULANA SAIFUR RAHMAN QASIM is a senior student of Allama Sarfraz Khan Safdar (r a). He is a Hafiz of the Qur' n, completed his Dars-e-Nizami degree from Nusrat alUlum in Gujranwala, and went on to study at the famous Ummat al-Qur University in Makkah Mukarramah for five years. He then returned to Pakistan where he taught t he six authentic books of Hadith along with other subjects for a decade. He curr ently oversees an Islamic educational Institute for women in Gujranwala, and con ducts numerous workshops and short courses all over Pakistan. He has also publis hed dozens of books in both Arabic and Urdu in multiple subject areas including Islamic beliefs, Hadith, Seerah, finality of Prophethood, Fiqh, Arabic grammar, Inheritance Laws, and Islamic educational books for children. MAULANA KAMALUDDIN AHMED was born and raised in Manhattan (New York City). He st

udied Arabic & Islamic Civilization, Political Science, and Law at the Universit y of Chicago, Columbia University, and the University of London. He then spent m any years studying religious knowledge from traditional scholars in Pakistan, fi rst receiving the ' limiyya degree from Jamia Ashrafia Lahore, and then an authoriz ation to transmit legal opinion (ift ) from Darul Ifta in Karachi. For over sevent een years, he has consistently remained in the close company of Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmad and was granted ij za by him in the science of Islamic spirituality (tasawwuf ). Currently he is a postgraduate student at the University of Oxford and divide s his time between the UK and Pakistan, tutoring students and delivering lecture s at mas jid and institutions of learning.
