Institute of Technology Princeton University Educational Attainment: Doctoral Degree School Graduated: Princeton University Marital Status: Married Spouse: ALN Mental Status Examination JN is a male professor living in Princeton University and is married with ALN. He stands in a slouch manner and walks with neuropathic gait. He has firm motor actions and poor showing of facial expressions. He has a mannerism of scratching his forehead when stressed. He has minimal eye contact to other people. Corollary to this, he has unwillingness to interact with other people because he thinks that they dont like him. This signifies low level of self-esteem in which also making him easily depressed when being defeated by other people. He has a great obsession in mathematics and has an inflexible personality. He easily gets irritated making him agitated. He has undergone denying of his mental condition but eventually learns to accept it. He denies of having his medications due to its side effects. His intellectual capacity is at above average. Psychopathological Evaluation JN is being too much direct to other people. He says what he feels without even thinking what others could feel. Therefore, even he does likes to interact with them; he always ends up with rejection and eventually making him withdraw to the society. In relation to this, he creates his own world with his imaginary friends as a compensatory to withdrawal to the society. Besides, he is too much obsessive and perfectionist thus making him to have a hard time on accepting defeats and hence making him depressed every time he experiences it. Corollary to this, every time he become depress he tends not to eat and sleep making his health in unsafe condition.

JNs problem of being direct falls on the post-conventional part of Kohlbergs developmental theory. He is not able to communicate effectively to other people for the reason that he cannot identify the acceptable way of corresponding to them. On the other hand, another problem of JN falls on Eriksons developmental theory in which states that if there is a failure to meet the specific task in the Trust vs. Mistrust stage will lead to fear of criticism. As manifested by JN, he easily gets depressed when incidence of criticism occurs. He cannot cope with this experience hence making him withdrawn by the society as he views it as unsafe. Lastly in the Maslows Hierarchy of Needs, he has a problem in the physiological part as he does not eat and sleep leading his health into harm. He does not satisfy his needs instead he focuses more on his work and later making the other proceeding parts of the hierarchy have also a crisis. Following a sequential order of being the most priority, the following psychiatric nursing diagnoses are Imbalanced Nutrition: less than body requirements related to Psychological factors as he is not eating satisfactorily, and Sleep Deprivation related to prolonged psychological discomfort that particularly focuses when he does not sleep often because of obsession to mathematics. Another is Disturbed Sensory Perception related to psychological stress, which edges to him apparently seeing things that are unreal. In addition to, Disturbed Thought Process related to sleep deprivation, psychological conflicts and mental disorder is an issue. Furthermore, Moderate anxiety related to social crises and stress is a problem as he becomes depressed easily when rejected. Also, Ineffective coping related to social crises is involved as he cannot manage himself through his depression. Moreover, Impaired Social Interaction related to disturbed thought process as affecting his relationship to other people as he see things that are not perceivable by the senses. In relation to being rejected consecutively, another diagnosis is situational low Self-Esteem related to failures/rejections and lack of recognition is a matter.
