EXTENDED ABSTRACT GUIDELINES FOR SUSTAIN 2011

ABSTRACT This template file provides essential information on how to prepare and submit an Extended Abstract to the 2nd International Conference on Sustainable Future for Human Security 2011. The deadline of the submission of the extended abstract is 31 July 2011. The manuscript should be submitted through our web site (http://sustain-kyoto.com). The Extended Abstracts are limited to maximum three (3) A4-pages and 2 MB in a file size. The title is in bold capital letters and centered at the top of the first page. It must be followed by the author(s) name(s), organization(s). Leave one bank line between the title and the name of the author(s). When several authors prepare a paper, the name of the presenter should be underlined. The name of each ones organization should be easily distinguished. Type a summary of your abstract in less than 10 lines, followed by the keywords up to 5 words. Keywords: renewable energy, environment, social-science, health, human-security, (up to 5 words)

INTRODUCTION The manuscripts must be in English and formatted using A4-size paper (210 mm x 297 mm), single-spaced except for headings and subheadings. The preferred font of text is Times New Roman -11 font-size (except the title, 12 font-size). Full justification should be used when available. Bold should be used for the paper title and major headings. Use a single-column format as this template and use margins size 25 mm for all sides. In order to complete your abstract, replace all parts of this text with your paper content without changing any layout (font type and size, line spacing, page margins and so on). Before you begin to format your paper, first write and save the content as a separate text file. Keep your text and graphic files separate until after the text has been formatted and styled. You can copy your paper content and paste special to this layout (and choose unformatted text, e.g. you can use notepad or other program). DO NOT insert page numbers or page headers/footers. Papers which do not meet the guidelines may not be included in the conference abstracts. These instructions have been formatted in the manner in which you should prepare your manuscript, thus you may use this document as an example. SUBMISSION AND NOTIFICATION OF THE EXTENDED ABSTRACT Deadline of Abstract You should submit your extended abstract to the conference official web site (http://sustainkyoto.com) until 31 July 2011. Late submission is not permitted. Your manuscript must be saved by using Microsoft Word .doc (1997-2003 versions). Review and Notification The submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the International Scientific Committee, and then the corresponding author will be notified of the papers acceptance or rejection on 31 August 2011. Within a month after the notification of acceptance, you should register your participation to secure your presentation on the final conference program. The conference will be held on 8-9 October 2011. The full paper submission deadline is 31 October 2011 or three weeks after the conference. Only the presented manuscripts will be included and published in the Proceeding of The 2nd International Conference on Sustainable Future for Human Security 2011 (in CD form). THE CONTENT OF THE EXTENDED ABSTRACT Manuscript length and volume limits Abstracts are limited to three (3) A4-pages (including all figures) and 2 MB in a file size. Manuscripts exceeding page limits will be truncated at the limit. Title, author(s), affiliations and corresponding author The title should appear in BOLD CAPITAL LETTERS with 12 pt. of Times New Roman centered without underlining. Type the authors name and affiliation in upper and lower case letters, centered and double-spaced below the title. For multiple organizations, use superscripted numbers to identify organization and list the organizations after the author list. The corresponding author should be marked with asterisk (*) and put the corresponding author email address after the affiliation (please leave one blank line before and after the corresponding author email address) Headings Major captions (headings) are to be in capitals without underlining, aligned left and bold. Subheadings should start on align left on separate lines. A blank line space should be placed both before and after each heading or subheading. There should be no blank line after the title of the sections. Sub caption begins with the upper case. If you use sub-sub captions, please type it with normal plain letters. The fonts of text should be Times New Roman of 11 pt. in size with single line spacing. At the beginning of each paragraph please indent as on this document. Equations Equations are to be numbered consecutively throughout the paper. The equation number, in parentheses, should be placed flush with the right-hand margin of the column. When possible, use an equation editor.

Leave a blank line before and after equations. Figures and tables Hand-written lettering on figures is not acceptable. The use of color in figures and photos is recommended but please keep in mind that total file size never exceeds 2 MB. Figures and tables should include captions or titles and any color is possible. The figures and table should be numbered consecutively.

When possible the table data should be centered within a single column. If there is not enough space left on the page to allow for your table, end your page and continue on the next page. The title for figures and tables should be written aligns left and avoids using bold, italic and underline. The content of the table should be written in font 9 (Times new roman). ACKNOWLEDGMENT You can mention affiliation or any organization which supporting your research (not more than 3 paragraphs). References References are to be listed and numbered at the end of the paper with a left-justified format. The text which refers the references should show them as [1]. Volume numbers in references should be in (bracket). The name of the peer review journal and the international conference should be written in italic. The web or url link should be written includes the accessing date. A blank line should be used to separate references in lists as follows:
