Gate Valves are used where a minimum of pressure drop through (The valve is important they are employed where valves are normally to be Wide open or completely closed.) They are designed to permit either a straight . full & free flow of the fluid or no flow at all. SERVICE RECOMMENDATIONS Fully open/Fully Closed Non Throttling Minimum resistance to Line Flow Infrequent Operation
RISING STEM-OUTSIDE SCREW & YOKE The construction keeps stem threads outside the valve & is recommended where high temperature, corrosive, & solids in the line might damage stem threads inside the valve. When the hand wheel is turned, the stem rises as the yoke bushing engages the stem threads. The external threads enable the easy lubrication. Care must be taken, however, to protect exposed stem threads from damages
BOLTED BONNETS. Valves with bolted bonnets may be easily dismantled With conventional wrenches. Body & Bonnet flanges are usually furnished with flat faces or male & female joints.
FLEXIBLE DISC Flexible discs are wedge seated with disc faces joined at the center by a hub. This design enables disc faces to compensate for variable temperatures & pressures & allows valve to operate at lower torques. This disc is offered in steel gate valves only.
