After Heather Richter 08 earned her MBA from Clarkson, she began working as a consultant for IBM. In this role, she is based out of Boston but travels each week to work on projects with industrial clients around the country. Through her classes at Clarkson and her training at IBM, she is proficient in the Materials Management module of SAP, but can also work in several modules. Heather explains that the classes she took while at Clarkson have been very applicable to her daily work. Having an understanding of accounting terms allows me to better understand the finances of my clients and my supply chain classes have proven to be especially relevant, she says. Despite the fact that IBM has about 400,000 employees worldwide, Heather has found that there is a Clarkson community within the company, so she automatically had close ties to the University at her workplace.
An ability to complete the MBA program within one calendar year for those with a non-business undergraduate degree An opportunity to fulfill the business foundation prerequisites of the MBA program The ability to strengthen ones background in various business disciplines
Curriculum
Courses in the Business Concepts program are broken down into two-week modules with 1.5 credit hours per module, up to a maximum of 15 credit hours. These courses run from late May to early August.
