Digital Humidity Sensors (RH&T : Relative Humidity and Temperature) Overview

Sensirions family of relative humidity and temperature sensors have become established as the industry standard mainly due to their high performance and integration (CMOSens Technology) in a miniature format. The capacitive humidity sensors provide digital and fully calibrated output which allows for easy integration without the need for additional calibration. The excellent long term stability has been very well perceived and the cutting edge low energy consumption is unachieved and makes them the right choice for any remote application. The digital humidity sensors are provided in different packaging types: SMD type (SHT1x series), pin type (SHT7x series) and the new DFN type (SHT2x series). The SHT1x and SHT2x are reflow solderable while pin type humidity sensors are used for devices where flexible integration is crucial or easy exchange is necessary. The three series are subdivided further according to different accuracy levels of humidity reading. Any application deserves a specific type - the following table shall help to make the right choice. Filter Cap SF1 for SHT1x Humidity Sensor (RH&T)

Easily mountable solution for the protection of SHT1x humidity sensors SF1 filter cap protects Sensirion's humidity and temperature sensors SHT10, SHT11 and SHT15 against water, dust , soot and other contaminants. It consists of a single piece of polypropylene including a filter mebrane . The filter cap fits the outer dimensions of the SHT1x humidity sensors and allows for compact system design. SF1 is fixed to the PCB by plugging two pins into holes in the PCB which are melted from the rear side thereafter. The filter cap is designed to keep response time low. If sealed by an epoxy ring to PCB it provides protection according to IP54. It also serves as an adaptor for mounting the humidity sensor directly into the wall of a housing. NEW - SF2 Filter Cap for SHT21 Humidity Sensor (RH&T)

Easily mountable solution for the protection of the SHT21 humidity sensor. SF2 filter cap protects Sensirion's humidity and temperature sensor SHT21 against water, dust, soot and other contaminants. It consists of a single piece of PBT and a integrated filter mebrane. The filter cap fits the outer dimensions of the SHT21 humidity sensor and allows for a compact system design. SF2 is fixed to the PCB by plugging the four pins into corresponding holes in the PCB. If desired, they can be glued for additional adhesion. The filter cap is designed to keep response time low. The SF2 filter cap also serves as an adaptor for mounting the humidity sensor directly into the wall of housing. Using a sealing ring results in a waterproof mounting solution that allows protection according to IP67 to be achieved.
