This document describes how to connect the Siemens Gigaset SL550 cordless telephone to the EXPLORER terminals. Small Office / Home Office (SOHO) The Siemens Gigaset SL550 is a cordless telephone combining sophisticated design with modern technology. The SL-class model is equipped with computer interface enabling rapid data synchronization with a PC e.g. Outlook address book entries into the cordless phones memory. To avoid being disturbed by the phone ringing, a vibration alarm can alert you of incoming calls. The hands free speech facility with adjustable volume control permits flexibility and freedom of movement while on the phone. Up to six handsets can be registered on the Gigaset SL550. The range between the base station and the handsets is approx. 300 meters outdoors and up to 50 m indoors. Follow the set-up procedure in the operator manual or quick guide that comes with the Gigaset. Connect the cord from the Gigaset to the EXPLORER terminal via the RJ-11 port (phone/fax). To make a call using the default Standard Voice service, dial 004539558800# and press the green offhook key. To make a Premium Voice call remember to enter 2* in front of the number, 2*004539558800# and press the green off-hook key. The test was done using the Standard Voice service on the EXPLORER 300, 500 and 700 terminals and the Premium Voice service on the EXPLORER 500 and 700 terminals.
