EMPLOYER PARTNERSHIP OF THE ARMED FORCES The Employer Partnership of the Armed Forces is an online job search for military members, reservists, veterans who have served for any number of years, military spouses, surviving military spouses, and adult-age dependents. Job seekers can search for jobs online and employers can search for employees online. This is not like Monster.com where all your information is viewable to employers. Employers must be screened and approved to be on this website. Jobs range from entry level positions to positions requiring Doctorate degrees. In order to sign up for jobs, you must register online and you may have to provide your sponsor's ".mil" email account. This is to verify your eligibility of using the program. HELP FOR FAMILIES GOING THROUGH DIVORCE Kids'Turn INTRODUCES: THE KIDS' TURN/FULLER JENKINS, MILITARY AND VETERAN FAMILIES PROGRAM San Diego. The mission of Kids' Turn San Diego is to promote, support and secure the well-being of all children who are experiencing the challenges of family separation. Kids' Turn is the only organization in Southern California working exclusively with military and veteran families. Parents will attend their own group separate from their co-parent where they will learn how to successfully accomplish a child centered, healthy divorce. Children will attend groups tailored to meet their specific needs by helping them learn how to express their thoughts, and feelings and develop good coping skills. It is tough being a kids these days especially a teenage-particular when dealing with the stress of belonging to a military family. One week in July military teens ages 15 to 17 with an Active Duty sponsor E-9 or below will have the opportunity to participate in the LIT program to learn about leadership skills and job readiness. The program consists of three components: Training Modules - Teens will participate in a interactive training block to prepare them for future employment opportunities within the workforce. Modules include, but are not limited to: Child Abuse Prevention, Professionalism, Interview Skills, Team Building, Risk Management and leadership. Teens will engage in group work, role play, and ice breakers to apply new skills and strategies. Professional Outings - Training modules are supplemented with field trips to local San Diego businesses for hands on work experience and knowledge on a variety of potential careers. Military teens will be able to engage in the day to day job responsibilities while also learning about the necessary skills, education, and requirements needed to fulfill the position. CPR/First Aid Training - All LIT participants will become CPR/ First Aid certified during the session. **Registration is open from June 23-June 30. Register online at www.militaryymca.org. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES MARINE MENTORSHIP OPPORTUNITY Black Mountain Middle School is looking for Marine mentors for their summer "Lunch Bunch" program. This program provides tutoring and mentorship to at-risk (most low income, single-parent) students for one hour-twice a week, while schools are not in session.
