SURFACE PREPARATION BEFORE FAIRFIX UNDERLAYMENT INSTALLATION

The temperature of the floor on which FAIRMATE UNDERLAYMENT installation has to be done, should be more than 6 to 10oC. Surface should be dry and all the repair work has to be done with CEMSCREED FAST REPAIR. The preparation of the concrete is of vital importance for the effective use of this product. Concrete must be firm and hard and free of old coatings, concrete laitance and any contaminants which may impair adhesion. Too much moisture content in the concrete substrate will almost certainly cause problems for a self-leveling overlay system. Moisture vapor transmission through the capillaries of the concrete reaches the surface and eventually, will cause delaminating with any kind of topping or overlay. Another important part of the surface preparation process is the repair of existing cracks. Because the overlay is a concrete material, cracks in the concrete substrate have a tendency to eventually make their way to the surface of the topping. FAIRMATE offers CEMSCREED FAST REPAIR for patching hairline cracks to help inhibit their ability to reach the new surface. The concrete must have a profiled textured surface, which can be achieved by captive shot blasting, grinding or milling. For areas, which are contaminated by oil, grease, HCA (Hot compressed air) treatment may be required. All dust and debris must be vacuumed away to leave a clean, dust free surface.

UNDERLAYMENT APPLICATION
FAIRFIX UNDERLAYMENT is mixed applied either by hand of specialist mixer / pump. For pump application contact the FAIRMATE Technical department for list of approved contractors with the necessary experience to carry out the work. Add 4.5 liter of clean water into a clear suitable container. Slowly add the 25 kg bag of FAIRFIX UNDERLAYMENT and mix with a slow speed drill with paddle attachment until homogeneous mix is obtained.

PRIMING
Porosity of the floor is a prime factor in the drying rate of adhesives. An application of primer is required, so priming has to be done with FAIRCRETE SB (L) an acrylic primer. Apply two coats of primer by roller, brush or spray and allow drying. (Normally over night).

FAIRFIX UNDERLAYMENT is a replacement of cement and sand bedding which provides a hard and self leveled flat floor.

1. FIXING OF CERAMIC OR MARBLE TILES

After the Underlayment is hardened and cured, a waterproof tile adhesive - FAIRFIX TA shall be applied over it. Fill the gap between the tiles with FAIRFIX TG - a hard wearing, water resistant grout for filling joints.

2. CARPET LAYING
An even and smooth leveled surface is obtained by FAIRFIX UNDERLAYMENT. The carpet laying can be done on the surface of the FAIRFIX UNDERLAYMENT as it gives a flat floor surface beneficial for carpet laying.

3. WOODEN FLOORING
For doing wooden flooring, even floor is pre-requisite which can be obtained by FAIRFIX UNDERLAYMENT. This will give a smooth and even leveled surface which will give you a perfect surface for doing wooden floorings. Note that the surface should be cured properly before wooden flooring is to be done.

FAIRFIX UNDERLAYMENT can be used to prepare a wide variety of sub-floors for resilient & in flooring, wood flooring and many types of surface coatings. It may also be left exposed as a final finish in light industrial or commercial environments.

FAIRTOP / FAIRTOP STD : Ready to use, single pack, hard wearing, abrasion resistant, non-metallic, monolithic, iron free, smooth finish, anti-skid industrial flooring compound for medium to heavy duty traffic floors. Resists penetration of oil and water. Consumption - 5 Kg/m, Mho's scale hardness 8 to 9. FAIRTOP METALLIC : A screedable, iron aggregate cementitious system which is designed to provide a thin, high strength topping or for repairing surfaces subjected to heavy traffic and abrasion. It is formulated for application at a thickness of 8 to 10mm. 25kg bag of FAIRTOP METALLIC covers 0.95m at a thickness of 8mm and 0.75m at a thickness of 10mm for screed. FAIRTOP HD : Ready to use single pack, hard wearing, abrasion and impact resistant, nonmetallic, monolithic, smooth finish, anti-skid floor hardener for heavy duty industrial floors. A 12 mm thick topping on the green concrete provides an extra ordinary heavy duty traffic floor. Coverage : 1- 1.2 m@12 mm thickness per pack of 25 kg. FAIRTOP FAST FLOOR : Cementitious self smoothing flooring designed for warehouses and industrial floors when strength and durability are of high priority. FAIRTOP FAST FLOOR is available in 18 kg plastic bag. 18 kg bag will give coverage of 1.8 kg/mm/m at 1mm thickness. FAIRFIX TA : It is a prepack mortar product of cementitious type tile adhesive and widely used for the adhesion of ceramic tiles. This can also be used for the adhesion of tile on tile. Depending on the requirement of consistency, precise quantity of water is added in FAIRFIX TA (Generally water powder proportion is 1:3) Coverage : Approx. 5 to 8 m at the recommended thickness of 3 to 4 mm. FAIRFIX TG : It is a hardwearing, water resistant, cost effective grout for filling joints in exterior and interior walls, floor tiles, mosaics etc. upto 5mm width, excellent adhesion to unglazed surfaces, does not shrink when dry, low cost service life and available in different colors. Coverage : Approx 30 running feet per kg. with 2 mm width of joints. FAIRFIX TT : Is a prepacked two part system tile adhesive, ensures excellent bond on concrete, masonry, marble, can be used to fix tile on tile and acoustic and insulating board, gives perfect water tightness, excellent waterproofin gcharacteristics. Coverage: 5-7m per pack. FAIRSCREED TA : Three pack, epoxy based low odour chemical resistant tile adhesive, with good gripping to surface. Applicable for vehicular & pedestrian traffic. Coverage : 25 kg. covers 2.6m at 4 mm thickness. FAIRSCREED TG : Thixotropic, solvent free epoxy tile grout, resistant to water, weathering & wide range of chemicals. Available in various colours. FAIRFIX GLUE : Is a two-component, catalysed polyester resin based adhesives for bonding and filling marble, has very good adhesion to marble and other stones of similar porosity, has very fast initial cure. It is available in tubes of resin and hardner as shown below. Coverage : 4 to 5 sq. ft per 1kg with 2mm thickness.
