SKILL LEVEL FINISHED SIZES Small booties (0 3 months): 3 1/4 (8 cm) long, 2 (5 cm) wide Medium booties (3 6 months): 4 (10 cm) long, 2 1/4 (5.5 cm) wide Large booties (6 12 months): 4 3/4 (12 cm) long, 2 1/2 (6.5 cm) wide Note: For best fit, measure the length of the baby's foot and choose the size that is the closest, as foot size many vary regardless of age. Slippers should stretch and fit feet that are slightly larger in measurement. MATERIALS Medium Weight Yarn Approximately 50 yards of main color for each pair for booties Small amount of contrasting colors Crochet hook US H (5.00 mm) Stitch marker (or safety pin, or scrap of contrasting yarn) Yarn needle GAUGE Note: Measure gauge from front loops of swatch made. Small booties: rounds 1 4 in pattern measures 3 1/4 long and 2 wide Medium booties: rounds 1 5 in pattern measures 4 long and 2 1/4 wide Large booties: rounds 1 6 in pattern measures 4 3/4 long and 2 1/2 wide

STITCHES AND ABBREVIATIONS USED Ch (chain) Dc (double crochet) Exsc (extended single crochet) Hdc (half double crochet) Sc (single crochet) Sc2tog (insert hook into front loops only of next 2 stitches, yarn over, pull through 2 loops on hook, yarn over, pull through final 2 loops on hook, counts as 1 single crochet) Note: this is not a conventional sc2tog. SMALL EAR (make 2 per bootie) Row 1 (right side): with main color, ch 3, 5 hdc in third ch from hook: 5 hdc Finish off, leaving a long end for sewing. MEDIUM EAR (make 2 per bootie) Row 1: with main color, ch 3, 5 hdc in third ch from hook: 5 hdc Row 2 (right side): ch 1, turn, sc in each hdc across: 5 sc Finish off, leaving a long end for sewing. LARGE EAR (make 2 per bootie) Row 1: with main color, ch 3, 6 dc in third ch from hook: 6 dc Row 2 (right side): ch 1, turn, sc in each dc across: 6 sc Finish off, leaving a long end for sewing. ASSEMBLY With a yarn needle, sew one ear to each side of the bootie using photo as a guide. Embroider eyes, nose and mouth with black yarn.
