New FSA Rules (as defined in FSA Policy Statement PS 05/1 Treating With Profits Customers Fairly) require firms to set target ranges for payouts for surrenders and maturities by reference to unsmoothed asset shares. In order to ensure that surrender and maturity policy payout values for With Profit policies are within the target ranges declared by AXA, it will be necessary to amend the surrender and maturity value bases for Conventional With Profits policies (Life and Pensions). Changes will also be made to the Paid up basis of some policies. No changes will be made to the bases of policies that have been altered. There is a requirement to monitor payout levels in order to verify that the declared target ranges are being observed. This will be achieved by comparing asset share data with payout data

In the existing process, all the application forms for ASLD products are coming through the OCHRE system. A hardcopy of application is scanned through OCHRE system to feed automated DMAH screens. The application forms details are maintained in DMAH database and passed to KLM for underwriting process and new business during the evening batch run. KLM returns the policy number and rejection details, which will be used to populate DMAH database for policy details and underwriting details. There is no provision to input application forms on-line in the existing system. ASLD has decided to accept applications over the phone to improve

their sales efficiency and uplift sales following customer enquiries and applications. In addition, the Royal Bank of Scotland (AXA's bankers) require straight through processing of DDI information. To achieve this the applications will be fed directly into OCHRE system through an automated upload of a telephone acceptance file provided by a 3rd party, which will be later processed by DMAH in a similar way as it does for scanned paper applications. To improve efficiency ASLD will also capture bank account details from client applications and automatically update them on to the policy at the earliest opportunity (without the need for manual keying). There is a requirement that Mortgage Endowment Review projections advise the policyholder that a time limit exists in which they can complain if they have been issued a MER (Mortgage Endowment Review) Red Letter and believe that they have been mis-sold their endowment policy. A copy of the policyholder information will be sent to the agent. The time limit (Timebar Date) will be based on the date that the policyholder first received a Mortgage Endowment Review (MER) Red Letter and the Sales Channel (IFA or AR) that originally sold the policy. As it is not possible to identify the selling channel for all IBM policies both the IFA and AR Timebar Dates will be held for each policy.

Description

ACID Data Mart is the Customer Insight OLAP database used by Marketing to build AXA policy and external data in propensity models. Data is drawn from DMD and Omega through Online Transactional Processing and a Staging Process. All main AXA admin platforms (Tandem, Lamda, IBM, Amarta and Profund) feed DMD and Omega monthly the result being that ACID is fully refreshed by the 11th working day of each month. ACID is currently used to report externally to MSE (Market Systems Exchange) and Touchstone (IFA Information System). A new extract, listing all reconstructed policies, will be created from DMD and will be transferred to Informatica server via 'connect direct, where it will be matched against the ACID PSD return file and any matches will be removed. Informatica will receive this file in a fixed format. As per FSAs Integrated Regulatory Reporting (IRR) programme AXA has to provide data including basic reporting data and specialist information on the regulated activities undertaken by AXA.
