* The apple unit was designed as an inquiry based unit. It incorporates all areas of the curriculum, with a focus on science. The unit is 9 days long and includes one culminating activity, a field trip to the Apple Orchard. Many of the worksheets have been created specifically for the curriculum at Willow School and are differentiated to help all students experience success.
Subject Areas: Social Studies, Reading, Math, Writing, Math, Science, Fine Arts How do apples grow? What can apples be used for/What products? What does an apple tree look like year round?
Supplies
Chart paper, construction paper, crayons, glue, scissors, pencils, journals, apples, apple peeler/corer, playdough (apple), containers, clipboards, binding combs, large tub for (sink or float), tissue paper, wax paper, copies of worksheets, and homelinks

Computer, printer, digital camera, laminator, overhead projector, TV, VCR, Johnny Appleseed video
