ENGLISH TEACHER JOB DESCRIPTION

Post School : English Teacher : Edelweiss International School

Pay range : ------------------An experienced English teacher with general passion for both the written word and teaching to engage students in the lesson. Possessing good presentation and communication skills that ensure students learn the material presented as well as they can. Job description :

- is carrying out the professional duties of an English teacher as circumstances may require and in accordance with the school's policies under the direction of the head teacher of Edelweiss International School. - to obtain a position as an English teacher in which a strong dedication to the total development of children and a high degree of enthusiasm can be fully utilized. Job Requirements 1. Graduation from Bachelors degree in English: Bachelor of Science in English Education State licensing and certification Masters degree in English Bachelor of Education or an Honors degree Post Graduate Certificate of Education or TESOL qualifications. Number of specialized classes in English literature/grammar/writing

2. Must be able to do the following: - Follow basic principles of Edelweiss International School - Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, especially be able to implement language classroom properly; - Development written work plan (both syllabus and lesson plan based on national curriculum and adopted by international curriculum design); - Establish and maintain effective, working relationships with children, parents, staff, and program specialists in Edelweiss International School. Nature of Work 1. Hours of work and schedule are determined on an annual basis, based upon program needs and availability of funds.

2. Work involves the responsibility for developing and implementing a Head Start educational setting for preschool children as outlined in guidelines provided by Mentari International School. 3. The teacher is responsible for direct supervision and evaluation of the teacher assistant and any volunteers in the classroom held by Edelweiss International School. 4. The teacher shall be supervised and evaluated by the center director. 5. The teacher shall receive training before teaching in real class. Key Responsibilities and Achievements 1. Planning, teaching and class management

Plans and maintains a safe, clean, learning environment, and assures the well being and safety of children in her/his care Plans and implements activities with children between the ages of three and five years, consistent with the curriculum provided and Head Start mandated outcomes. Identifying clear teaching objectives and specifying how they will be taught and asessed; Setting tasks which challenge pupils and ensure high levels of interest; Ensuring effective teaching and best use of available time; Maintaining discipline in accordance with the school's procedures and encouraging good practice with regard to punctuality, behavior, standards of work and homework; Using a variety of teaching methods to: i. Use effective questioning, listen carefully to pupils, give attention to errors and misconceptions ii. Select appropriate learning resources and develop study skills through library, ICT and other sources; Ensuring pupils acquire and consolidate knowledge, skills and understanding Appropriate to the subject taught; Ensuring the effective and efficient deployment of classroom support Taking account of pupils' needs by providing structured learning Encouraging pupils to think and talk about their learning, develop selfcontrol and independence, concentrate and persevere, and listen attentively; 2. Monitoring, assessment, recording, reporting

Assess how well learning objectives have been achieved and use them to improve specific aspects of teaching; Mark and monitor pupils' work and set targets for progress; Assess and record pupils' progress systematically and keep records to

Check work is understood and completed, monitor strengths and weaknesses, inform planning and recognise the level at which the pupil is achieving; Undertake assessment of students as requested by examination bodies, departmental and school procedures; Prepare and present informative reports to parents.

3. Curriculum development Have lead responsibility for a subject or aspect of the school's work and develop plans which identify clear targets and success criteria for its development and / or maintenance; Contribute to the whole school's planning activities

Job Classification and Compensation This position will be assigned to the current pay plan on the basis of credential, degree, or certification and a non-exempt position, meaning that it is not exempt from the hourly wage and labor laws. It is understood that the teacher will work the hours assigned by the center director.
