How to install Logistics Cockpit Datasources
In this exercise you will learn the following: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. Activating LO-Cockpit related Datasource (RSA5) Changing/Modifying this datasource (RSA6) Activating Update for this datasource (LBWE) Checking through extractor checker (RSA3) Filling and deleting data in set up table (OLI*BW, and LBWG) Enhancing Datasource Replicate Datasource in BW Connecting to Infosource Delta mechanism; job control and Update Modes
Instructor will assign you one datasource to work on. This datasource is also marked in one transaction called LBWE in R/3. You can access this transaction from your BW IMG (SBIW). Activating Datasource from Business Content Find your Datasource in transaction RSA5 or SBIW > Business Content Datasources > Transfer business content datasource Execute Click on find to select datasource name or part name (Do not use * while searching)

Use transfer Datasource button to create a copy of delivered version. This creates an active version for you to work on (Modify or delete).

Setup Update active in transaction LBWE or, click on Logistics extraction structure cockpit from SBIW

Click on execute

Modify DataSource Run Transaction RSA6 or, use SBIW > Post Processing of Datasource > Edit Datasource Keep cursor on your datasource and click on change datasource. Before you do that let us talk about one more thing; how to add more fields (enhance extract structures) and also to write user exit (function enhancement). Look on to this screen, you can answer that question. Please also refer to business content Datasource exercise that was provided to you before. Can I extend datasource in SE11 for extract structure (that is always there)? Can I use other functionality to add more fields without using enhance extract structure? Yes, you can in the case of LO-Cockpit Datasources, keep reading this paper.

Make selection, hide, inversion, and field known in exit as necessary, Save. What are these options, please discuss in class.

Run datasource with test extraction or use RSA3

If you find data, means someone has already field setup table for you. We need to delete data from set up table.

Delete data from setup table Use transaction LBWG or, use SBIW, search for delete

Find your application from drop down box and execute

System gives you a confirmation message about data deletion

Setup Tables delete successfully Check RSA3 to get zero records, we are back to normal mode of operation

Fill the set up table
Click on Perform set up for your application in SBIW under managing extract structure, see below

Use new run, name of run and data of termination (you can use tomorrows date) Which transaction brought you to current screen (OLI*BW)

Run program in background

You will get a message that Background job was scheduled for program RMCVNEUA Use extractor checker to see that your data is coming through ok

See the log for your data transfer from table of origin to set up table Use transaction NPRT or click on LIS setup log in SBIW

Adding more fields to your extract structure (without using functionality enhance extract structure) Before you do this, make sure data is deleted from set up table (or use transaction LBWG) Use transaction LBWE or path below in SBIW

Click on Maintenance by side of your datasource It will open a pop-up screen. Left hand side is your extract structure; right side is called communication structure (this has nothing to do with communication structure in BW that we are familiar with). You can add more fields from right side. If you click on All box up, this gives you some idea where your data might be coming from. You will see structure names like MCVBAK etc. Your table of origin is VBAK for such example.

You need to activate your datasource once again. Click on Inactive by side of your datasource

Click on datasource to generate datasource Does not this screen look like RSA6? The field for agreement is hidden; please remove the checks for HIDE and only known for exits

Use transaction RSA3 to check datasource

Please do the following steps in suggested in exercise before. This part is similar to other transaction datasource/InfoSource. 1. Replicate datasource in BW 2. Activate/Create InfoSource in BW 3. Assign datasource 4. Create InfoPackage 5. Load data with Initialization of delta and full update to make sure, you understand this part. This needs one piece of configuration in R/3, in transaction LBWE. This functionality is given though Job Control and Update mode (per application)
