PROCESS OF ADMISSION, DISCHARGE, TRANSFER, UTILIZATION OF TECHNOLOGY/FHSIS/CONTACT TRACING Metropolitan hospital is one of the leading hospitals around manila, it is known for their quality service and cleanliness of the area. Admission, upon entering the emergency room the patient needs to sign some form regarding the patients data, specifically the biographical data. Then from the emergency room the patient has the privilege to choose on what type of room they want to be admitted like private,semiprivate etc. and from then the charge of the room is per day, depending on the class. Then the patient has to give an initial payment to the hospital. If all the things has been settled into the emergency room the patient can now transfer to their room. Discharge Upon discharge the patient needs to settle their account first to the cashier and also if there will be unused meds it should be also returned to the pharmacy and then most importantly there will be a doctors order saying that the patient can now go home. By all means, it was all monitored by their system from the day the patient steps into the hospital up to the last day. So if there will be any complaints regarding the bills the hospital can show lists of data that reflected to the bill. Transfer Transferring of patient to room or hospital is always been easy in this kind of private hospital, due to the technology and also the co-hospitals that is around the area etc. transferring of patient into another room like ICU or lower rates room, first they have to make a request then second it has to be processed into the cashier and then the patient can now transfer to their desired room. If the patient decided to transfer to another hospital due to lack of equipments, loss of budget, no physician etc. there will be also a person responsible for that, and same thing the bill has to be settled first. Then an ambulance of their desired hospital can now pick them up. Utilization of technology When it comes on this matter, metropolitan is not updated nor out dated but it is only in the average type. Theyre not using the latest gadgets in the hospital but still the ones they are using are still high tech and reliable maybe because of income and the demand on the place also, if they will upgrade into the latest gadgets not everybody in that vicinity can afford the price, so somehow to balance things it has to be cheaper for us to afford those.

Contact tracing

The hospital has its computerized record of each data of the client, that cannot be easily corrupted and also has its back up, the chart of the patient. That way they can contact the person. But it has to do with the hospital matters. CONDUCTING REQUESTS OF PROCEDURE LAB TEST, MEDICATION When conducting laboratory request, first it has to be a doctors order then made a request and now it has to be carried out then after that a nurse has to be aware to for the procedure then it will be recorded then encode it into the system for the charging fees and then the patient can now proceed to the specified area for the test to be conducted.

PROCESS OF CARRYING OUT PHYSICIANS ORDER When a doctor make an order, in a usual set up the doctor roomed into their patient then a nurse has to be accompanying the physician, then other doctors write the order in the chart on the yellow sheet then after that when the doctor goes out the nurse will get the kardex and note the specific order and in the doctors order form the nurse should sign for formality purposes. Then the patient can now proceed on the said order depending on the request of the physician.

HOW TECHNOLOGICALLY-ORIENTED ARE THE PERSONNEL The personnel there were very oriented on the high tech gadgets, they have to even though sometimes it is a bit complicated the reason is that they have to do everything for their client specially when it comes to health issues, second the client should always feel that it is worth the price. But also we cant avoid new personnel who are still adjusting to their new environment but as time passes by they will be more oriented and aware of new things. UTILIZATION OF COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY IN ALL ASPECTS OF HEALTHCARE: Metropolitan has emerged into the new generation of technology but still they are using the old ones but still functioning well, they have their pricey gadgets and tools. Sometimes I am still amazed on how a hospital functioned well also they have already portable devices that they can always bring to the room of the patient. Also they have

collaboration into each other for a systematic flow inside the hospital to avoid unpaid bills, undone test and many more.

HOW UPDATED AND ADVANCED THE TECHNOLOGY USED (applications, features, reliability, ease of system use, security, over-all system performance system cost) Not updated but also not out dated, they are using the semi high standard of technology pricey though but they have to due to the large count of patient going in and out every day, so they have at least a reliable system that is monitoring every single changes in the hospital, but the complain of one of the I.T developer is that the hospitals computer is hanging, that causes delay sometimes. When it comes to feautures,they are using the basic one simple grayscale color table, reliable though because according to the management it cannot be easily damaged. Security of the area is not that high, because as we all know it is public, meaning open to everybody we just have to be prepared and cautious for our own self, they also have map in every room directing the nearest fire exist. And sprinklers in case of fire. Emergency preparedness and response The hospital has fire extinguishers in ever side of the floor. Also have cctv camera for monitoring the people inside the hospital, they have also provide map inside the patients room wherein you will be able to know the nearest possible fire exit. But when in times of earthquake the hospitals flooring has plate which can sway to prevent fall break. When it comes to clients condition, especially in the operating room the doctors always depends on the machines, the way it sounds and also they are using life resuscitating gadget and unlimited supply of oxygen which other hospital has none. Conclusion/implication Metropolitan is one of the high class hospitals in town, known for their breath taking lobby, and accessibility to many establishments which will be more advantage for the patient. May be the price is sometimes too high especially the physicians fee, but as long as it is all worth it just go with it.

Recommendations Cheaper price and usage of electronic health records soon for the convenient of both parties.
