Activities in the church When we think of the activities of the church we need to think in the same way as we do about

t Jesus if Jesus builds the church, if it is built on His foundation, If it is for Him! Then the church that Jesus builds should do the same activities as Jesus! He came to seek and save the Lost He came to reveal the heart of the Father - love He came to bring truth He also opposed false teachers. Something that Jesus does the most is TEACH! From the start of His ministry Jesus began to teach and to preach the kingdom of Heaven is at hand! He knew the Word! Jesus studied the scriptures as a young boy. Jesus used the Scriptures to oppose the devil He made disciples by teaching them, sharing parables with and explaining things to them! After His resurrection, on the Road to Emmaus:
Luke 24:25 And he said to them, O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken!26Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory?27 And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.

His commission to us is to go into the entire world and make disciples of all nations, baptizing the in the name of the Father, Son & the Holy Spirit ANDteaching them to obey everything that He has taught! We need to know what He has taught in order to know what to teach! Acts 1 - In the first book, O Theophilus, I have dealt with all that Jesus began to do and teach, 2 until the day when he was taken up, after he had given commands through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen. 3 To them he presented himself alive after his suffering by many proofs, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God. (Foundations) Pentecost - Already as the Holy Spirit was poured out Peter stands up and from scripture, Joel and the Psalms He is teaching and preaching about Jesus Christ and the Kingdom that has now come by the Holy Spirit.

And the church devoted themselves to the preaching and teaching of the Apostles. The weekly washing of the Word that Jesus uses to sanctify His Bride is one of the main reasons the saints gather. In Chapter 6(Deacons) we see a priority arise for focusing on the ministry of the Word that means studying and teaching and preaching the same ministry that Jesus brought! Paul in Chapter 17 as on many other occasions Paul reasoned from all the Scriptures that Jesus had lived, died and risen! In 3 weeks a church was started through the preaching of the Word! Paul and Silas in Thessalonica 17 Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where there was a synagogue of the Jews. 2 And Paul went in, as was his custom, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures, 3 explaining and proving that it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead, and saying, This Jesus, whom I proclaim to you, i s the Christ. Paul and Silas in Berea 10 The brothers immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea, and when they arrived they went into the Jewish synagogue. 11 Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so . 12 Many of them therefore believed, with not a few Greek women of high standing as well as men Paul in Athens 16 Now while Paul was waiting for them at Athens, his spirit was provoked within him as he saw that the city was full of idols. 17 So he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and the devout persons, and in the marketplace every day with those who happened to be there. 18 Some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers also conversed with him. And some said, What does this babbler wish to say? Others said, He seems to be a preacher of foreign divinitiesbecause he was preaching Jesus and the resurrection. 19 And they took him and brought him to the Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new teaching is that you are presenting

Pauls heart for preaching comes through in 1 Corinthians 1:17 - For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and not with words of eloquent wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. 18 - 18 For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 21 25 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe . 22 For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, 23 but we preach Christ crucified , a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, 24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 2:1 5 And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom. 2 For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3 And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, 4 and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. Paul then is doing the activity of Jesus, this is the activity of the church! Lets look at what Paul leaves with the Elders of Ephesus(Acts 20:17 32) (EQUIP) as an instruction of what to teach: Paul Speaks to the Ephesian Elders 17 Now from Miletus he sent to Ephesus (KIGALI) and called the elders of the church to come t o him. 18 And when they came to him, he said to them: You yourselves know how I lived among you the whole time from the first day that I set foot in Asia, 19 serving the Lord with all humility and with tears and with trials that happened to me through the plots of the Jews; 20 how I did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, and teaching you in public and from house to house ,

testifying both to Jews and to Greeks of repentance toward God and of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ .
y Repentance through the preaching are people cut to the heart y Faith in Jesus preach what people need to believe! What do people need to believe

But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.
y Gospel of Grace it is by grace that you are saved! Preach Grace, not law! Preach what Jesus has done - NEWS, not what people must do! (GOSPEL FOR SINNERS & SAINTS) o GOD, MAN, CHRIST, RESPONSE

And now, behold, I know that none of you among whom I have gone about proclaiming the kingdom will see my face again.
y Proclaiming the Kingdom = Way up is the way down Israel expected a powerful kingdom but the kingdoms power is different yes we see the Spirit move and heal and deliver, but the Kingdom is this = the way up is the way down! Become like a child. Depend on God. o Righteousness, Peace, Joy in the Holy Spirit Rom 14:17  Accountability, Judgement Day KING (manager)  Order increases on earth peace with God, forgiveness, humility, become the least, mourn  Wedding Feast ALREADY & NOT YET!!! 26 Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all of you, 27 for I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God. y Whole Counsel of God Make a plan to read through the entire Bible as many times in your life as you can. twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them. 31 Therefore be alert, remembering that for three years I did not cease night or day to admonish everyone with tears. 32 And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace , which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

Paul then said to Timothy and to Titus = Doctrine is important:

o 1 Tim 1: 3 , 10 (False teachings) Sound Doctrine o Elders Need to teach AND Be taught in authority under authority. o Ch 4 Teachings of demons, 11: command and teach these things16: close watch!!! o 6:2, 3 Doctrine is the sound words of Jesus Christ! o 2 Tim 2: 2, 15, 24 patiently correct , 3:10 ALL Scripture o 4:1 5 Preach, so the work of an evangelist. o Titus 1:9, 2:1, 10! Hold to the Wrd and teach sound doctrine !
These scriptures have meant so much to me because I have seen myself as a Timothy and I feel that God has told me to study Doctrine carefully! Teaching at Ebenezer Again in Hebrews 6 1, 2 Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, 2 and of instruction about washings, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. When we study doctrine do our people know: 13 Things 1. GOD Trinity (1), Revelation (2), Creation (3) 2. MAN Image (4), Fall (5), Covenants (6) 3. JESUS Incarnation (7), Cross (8), Resurrection (9) 4. RESPONSE Church (10), Worship (11), Stewardship (12) (Giving) 5. Consummation Kingdom (13) (Eternity, life after death) This is so important for us PREACH, dont just Worship, be careful that you dont squash out preaching with programs! Even if you have to do some programs AFTER the preach, Rather PREACH! This is why we gather and submit to His Word!Fruit (Salvation, church, worship) come s from the Word!

The Point of all of this is to know GOD this is eternal Life that we know Him the only true God and His sent Son, Jesus Christ. Not about God, but know God& love God and call on His name! Romans 10:14 15 14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching ? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!
