Students build memory bench


Kyle Jenkins (left) and Jesse Kerens, both are students of Gary Mitchell's woodworking class at Logan Elm High School. Kyle constructed the bench in memory of Bob and Ester Collins for all the years they contributed to 4-H. Jesse is the Collins' great-grandson. The bench was presented to the Pickaway County Fair Board and will be used annually during the Pickaway County Fair.

Legislators visit DuPont


State Representatives Bob Peterson and Bill Hayes recently visited the new Tedlar line at the Circleville DuPont facility. The Tedlar line is expected to be completed later this year and will add nearly 100 people to the Pickaway County work force. Students recognized in poster contest


Five students from South Court Street Intermediate School were recognized May 27 by Rick Hartinger, president of the Camp Charlotte Chapter of the Ohio Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, for submitting entries into the chapter poster contest. New Holland alumni hold reunion

The 122nd alumni banquet of New Holland High School was held June 4 in the New Holland Community Center with 85 alumni and guests in attendance. All veterans and service men and women were asked to stand, and Kay Oughterson gave a tribute to them. Rev. H. Robert Rowe gave the invocation before the meal was served by the New Holland United Methodist Church. Lana Durflinger introduced the members present from the 50-year class of 1961. Paul Hurtt introduced the members present from the 60-year class of 1951.

Dan Roberts, Miami Trace superintendent, brought greetings and thanked all for their dedication to the school and education for all. Faye Helsel from the community center board stated this was her last time serving. She thanked all board members and gave special thanks to David and Grace Orihood, Russell and Evelyn Jacobs and all board members for their dedicated work. Faye Helsel was given a special thanks for all her dedicated work. Chris Sprouse was thanked for all his work on the school history and for doing the programs for the evening. Kay Oughterson gave a memorial service for all deceased alumni. A very special musical pro-

gram was presented by Stacy Wilt and The Last Call Group. Geraldine Sells, a graduate of the class of 1935, was welcomed and given special congratulations during the roll call of classes by Ann Thompson. Special thanks were given to Ann Thompson, Kay Oughterson, Chris Sprouse, Mary Jane Chrisman, Barbara Shaw, the New Holland Community Center, the New Holland United Methodist Church and everyone who assisted in any way to make this evening a great success. Plans were announced for the 2012 banquet to be held in June of 2012; date will be announced later. Rev. H. Robert Rowe gave a closing message and closed the evening with prayer.
