073.001 073.001 Y[a] ayyuh[a] almuzzammil(u) 073.001 O thou folded in garments!

073.002 073.002 Qumi allayla ill[a] qaleel[a](n) 073.002 Stand (to prayer) by night, but not all night,-

073.003 073.003 Ni[s]fahu awi onqu[s] minhu qaleel[a](n) 073.003 Half of it,- or a little less,

073.004 073.004 Aw zid AAalayhi warattili alqur-[a]na tarteel[a](n) 073.004 Or a little more; and recite the Qur'an in slow, measured rhythmic tones.

073.005 073.005 Inn[a] sanulqee AAalayka qawlan thaqeel[a](n) 073.005 Soon shall We send down to thee a weighty Message.

073.006 073.006 Inna n[a]shi-ata allayli hiya ashaddu wa[t]-an waaqwamu qeel[a](n) 073.006 Truly the rising by night is most potent for governing (the soul), and most suitable for (framing) the Word (of Prayer and Praise).

073.007 073.007 Inna laka fee a(l)nnah[a]ri sab[h]an [t]aweel[a](n)

073.007 True, there is for thee by day prolonged occupation with ordinary duties:

073.008 073.008 Wa(o)[th]kuri isma rabbika watabattal ilayhi tabteel[a](n) 073.008 But keep in remembrance the name of thy Lord and devote thyself to Him whole -heartedly.

073.009 073.009 Rabbu almashriqi wa(a)lmaghribi l[a] il[a]ha ill[a] huwa fa(i)ttakhi[th]hu wakeel[a](n) 073.009 (He is) Lord of the East and the West: there is no god but He: take Him therefore for (thy) Disposer of Affairs.

073.010 073.010 Wa(i)[s]bir AAal[a] m[a] yaqooloona wa(o)hjurhum hajran jameel[a](n) 073.010 And have patience with what they say, and leave them with noble (dignity).

073.011 073.011 Wa[th]arnee wa(a)lmuka[thth]ibeena olee a(l)nnaAAmati wamahhilhum qaleel[a](n) 073.011 And leave Me (alone to deal with) those in possession of the good things of life, who (yet) deny the Truth; and bear with them for a little while.

073.012 073.012 Inna ladayn[a] ank[a]lan waja[h]eem[a](n) 073.012 With Us are Fetters (to bind them), and a Fire (to burn them),

073.013 073.013 Wa[t]aAA[a]man [tha] ghu[ss]atin waAAa[tha]ban aleem[a](n) 073.013 And a Food that chokes, and a Penalty Grievous.

073.014 073.014 Yawma tarjufu al-ar[d]u wa(a)ljib[a]lu wak[a]nati aljib[a]lu katheeban maheel[a](n) 073.014 One Day the earth and the mountains will be in violent commotion. And the mountains will be as a heap of sand poured out and flowing down.

073.015 073.015 Inn[a] arsaln[a] ilaykum rasoolan sh[a]hidan AAalaykum kam[a] arsaln[a] il[a] firAAawna rasool[a](n) 073.015 We have sent to you, (O men!) a messenger, to be a witness concerning you, even as We sent a messenger to Pharaoh.

073.016 073.016 FaAAa[sa] firAAawnu a(l)rrasoola faakha[th]n[a]hu akh[th]an wabeel[a](n) 073.016 But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger; so We seized him with a heavy Punishment.

073.017 073.017 Fakayfa tattaqoona in kafartum yawman yajAAalu alwild[a]na sheeb[a](n) 073.017 Then how shall ye, if ye deny (Allah), guard yourselves against a Day that will make children hoary-headed?-

073.018 073.018 A(l)ssam[a]o munfa[t]irun bihi k[a]na waAAduhu mafAAool[a](n) 073.018 Whereon the sky will be cleft asunder? His Promise needs must be accomplished.

073.019 073.019 Inna h[ath]ihi ta[th]kiratun faman sh[a]a ittakha[th]a il[a] rabbihi sabeel[a](n) 073.019 Verily this is an Admonition: therefore, whoso will, let him take a (straight) path to his Lord!

073.020

073.020 Inna rabbaka yaAAlamu annaka taqoomu adn[a] min thuluthayi allayli wani[s]fahu wathuluthahu wa[ta]-ifatun mina alla[th]eena maAAaka wa(A)ll[a]hu yuqaddiru allayla wa(al)nnah[a]ra AAalima an lan tu[hs]oohu fat[a]ba AAalaykum fa(i)qraoo m[a] tayassara mina alqur-[a]ni AAalima an sayakoonu minkum mar[da] wa[a]kharoona ya[d]riboona fee al-ar[d]i yabtaghoona min fa[d]li All[a]hi wa[a]kharoona yuq[a]tiloona fee sabeeli All[a]hi fa(i)qraoo m[a] tayassara minhu waaqeemoo a(l)[ss]al[a]ta wa[a]too a(l)zzak[a]ta waaqri[d]oo All[a]ha qar[d]an [h]asanan wam[a] tuqaddimoo li-anfusikum min khayrin tajidoohu AAinda All[a]hi huwa khayran waaAA{th}ama ajran wa(i)staghfiroo All[a]ha inna All[a]ha ghafoorun ra[h]eem(un) 073.020 Thy Lord doth know that thou standest forth (to prayer) nigh two-thirds of the night, or half the night, or a third of the night, and so doth a party of those with thee. But Allah doth appoint night and day in due measure He knoweth that ye are unable to keep count thereof. So He hath turned to you (in mercy): read ye, therefore, of the Qur'an as much as may be easy for you. He knoweth that there may be (some) among you in ill-health; others travelling through the land, seeking of Allah's bounty; yet others fighting in Allah's Cause, read ye, therefore, as much of the Qur'an as may be easy (for you); and establish regular Prayer and give regular Charity; and loan t Allah a Beautiful o Loan. And whatever good ye send forth for your souls ye shall find it in Allah's Presence,- yea, better and greater, in Reward and seek ye the Grace of Allah: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
