For Year 3

RESEARCH TITLE

To reinforce and increase the understanding the usage of “Subject-verb

Agreement” in English Languange For Year 3

REFLECTION ON PREVIOUS LESSON

In the previous lesson, I conducted a simple test for process for Year 3 Ehsan
which is a simple test which consists of 10 questions pertaining to "Subject-verb
Agreement". Before that, I gave a description of "Subject-verb Agreement" along
with some relevant examples. The results of the test, I found 20 out of 36
students of 3 Ehsan made mistakes by filling in the blanks with the incorrect
answer. In my opinion, they had already understood the explanation and
examples that I gave which I thought it was very easy to understand. However,
upon review of the offense committed, I think something should be done to
overcome this problem. The results of observations of the pupils of Year 3
Ehsan, it was found that they are students who are weak and moderate achiever
in all subjects, especially for subjects that are taught in the English language.
Therefore, no wonder that they found it difficult to understand what was being
taught.

questions pertaining to "Subject-verb Agreement" had been carried out. A total of

15 questions to be answered by the pupils involved. Next steps below are taken

to address the problem:-

Activity 1

− Provide a description of "Subject-verb Agreement" with example.

When there is only one (singular) person, animal or thing, we use ‘is’.

We add ‘s’ to the action word (verb) when we talk about one

person/thing.

E.g. : Zara is a girl. Zara walks to the kitchen.

This is a rabbit. The rabbit eats the vegetables.

− When there is more than one (plural) person, animal or thing we use

‘are’. We do not add ‘s’ to the action word (verb) when we talk about

more than one person or thing.

E.g.: Ana and Ani are sisters. They look at the flowers.

Activity 2

− Using the "substitution tables" to describe the "subject-verb

Agreement" with greater ease.
