CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER - McAlester Regional Health Center, 11/2004 to 10/2010:
Revenue Generation - Within five years, increased net revenue by $20 million.
Profitability - Improved operating performance from annual losses/break even per
formance to annual margins of 3.5 to 5%.
Physician Recruitment - Within six years, recruited more than 30 physicians. Imp
lemented hospitalist program managing average daily census of up to 60 patients.
Quality Improvement - First hospital in Oklahoma to adopt DNV accreditation proc
ess including the implementation of ISO 9001 standards. Consistent performance i
n the top quartile on all core measures.
Business Development - Developed Managed Services Organization to support more t
han 25 physicians with practice management and information system capabilities o
f NextGen and Allscripts (Mysis). Developed and expanded the following services:
Wellness Center, Dialysis, Sleep Lab, Geriatric Counseling and Urgent Care.
Customer Service - Developed a 36 month culture development plan and hired an in
dependent facilitator for implementation. Program resulted in improved employee
engagement, established a solid team culture, and resulted in statistically sign
ificant improvement in employee and patient satisfaction in each of 5 years as m
easured by Press Ganey. Recognized at national conference as Inspiring Administr
ator by Custom Learning Solutions.
Operations Management and Strategy - Led board and senior management discussion
and decisions involving vision and strategy, enterprise-level decisions, standar
dization of best practices, and project governance oversight. Managed administra
tive, legal, and financial functions for both the hospital and its owned and ope
rated companies.
Emergency Management - Received Citation from the Oklahoma Senate and Letter of
Commendation from Brad Henry, Oklahoma Governor for management of 2007 Ice Storm
resulting in proclamation for McAlester Regional Health Center Day at the State
Capital.
Creative Spirit - Developed community-wide inspirational educational program wit
h Patch Adams as keynote speaker/facilitator highlighted by an underwear parade
in the inpatient rehab unit and a food fight in the cafeteria with residents of
the assisted living center.
Insurance/Risk Management - Partnered with several hospitals in the state to dev
elop a malpractice captive insurance company resulting in annual premium savings
of more than $1.2 million.
New Business Development - Partnered with several hospitals in the state to deve
lop a provider network and regional group purchasing organization resulting in c
umulative savings of $1.6 million since inception.
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER - McAlester Regional Health Center, 10/2003 to 6/2005
Accounting - Implemented new accounting policies and procedures related to accou
nts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets and general ledger reporting. Ins
talled accounting software for foundation and medical office building public tru
st. Prepared financial analysis, budgets and forecasts for presentation to finan
ce committee and board of trustees.
Auditing - Coordinated annual external audits and prepared client work papers.
Compliance - Developed and expanded corporate compliance plan including integrat
ion of CMS, OIG, and Public Trust requirements. Resolved IRS reporting issues re
lative to tax reporting compliance on forms 990, 1099 and 5500.
Reimbursement - Initiated cross-over bad debt recovery project resulting in near
ly $1 million in additional Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement. Re-negotiated all m
ajor payer agreements increasing annual net revenue by $1.5 million. Implemented

Insurance/Risk Management - Implemented self-funded worker's compensation and ri
