Texas A&M University. Earned BA in Chemistry with a minor in Biology. Used pro
ton NMR, GC/MS. HPLC, and FTIR routinely for product identification and purity.
1992-1994
Two years graduate school at Texas A&M department of Chemistry. Completed analy
tical division coursework. Used proton, broadband, and 2D NMR: grew and purifie
d proteins using ion exchange and size exclusion chromatography. Performed enzy
me assays.

Two summers and one Christmas break at Fina Technical Center in Deer Park, TX.
Used PONA, GC quantification of aromatics and sulfur, HPLC, FTIR, AA, and some p

1992
AOSI, Beaumont, TX. Waste water analysis for TOC, Oil and Grease, Kjeldhal nitr
ogen, phosphates, chlorides, etc.
1994-1995
Mobil BCSP, Beaumont, TX via Manpower. Tested wastewater and motor oil process
streams. Performed manual and automatic titrations, viscosities, %IPA and C20 b
y GC. Bromine index, and IR of final product.
1995-1996
Inspectorate America, Port Arthur, TX. Tested crude oil, gasoline, diesel, arom
atics, and VGO. Used GC for benzene and PONA, AA for metals, XRAY diffraction f
or sulfur, and a variety of wet methods. Read and implemented ASTM methods. Pe
rformed calibrations and kept QA/QC data.
1996-2000
A.J. Edmond Co. Sampling and analysis of petroleum coke. AA, ICP, and XRAY de
termination of metals. Iodometric, IR, and XRAY determination of sulfur. Calor
ific BTU analysis. Microsoft Word and Excel. Hired as Chemist, promoted to Lab
Manager in June, 1997. Promoted to director of Texas Labs in October, 1999. D
uties included training, supervision of sampling and sample preparation,, custom
er relations, data review and reporting, instrument repair, calibration and main
tenance for the Port Arthur and Texas City labs.
2001-2007
KMTEX, Port Arthur, TX. Hired as Lab Tech. Became Chemist and Lab Manager when
my supervisor left after 6 months. GC analysis of fuels, aromatic solvents, ac
ids, esters, and vinyl acetate. Wet testing as needed for a wide variety of mat
erials we were asked to process. Wrote or adapted customer GC and wet methods a
s the business further diversified. Trained operators on lab analyses necessary
for 24/7 process control. Issued C of A's, customer relations, QA/QC charting,
instrument calibration and repair. I also handled Haz-Mat shipping (air and gr
ound), kept and disposed retain samples, and helped out in logistics.

ocation. GC analysis for free and total glycerin, headspace analysis for MeOH.
Total FAME. Wet testing for total impurities, insoluable matter, unsaponifiabl
e matter, peroxides, IV and soap in oil.
