As Design Manager I undertook the responsibilities of supervising a seven-person
transportation team for the design deliver works of the 6 km island expressway
and collector road network. The project included geometric, lighting, bridges,
and grading works design utilizing codes from the US, UK, and Australia for an o
ptimal design.
Additional duties included a design delivery management role for the infrastruct
ure network of 597 beach villa properties. The US $550 million beach villa port
ion of the Saadiyat Island project required extensive synergy between the client
, early works contractor, infrastructure contractor, villa contractor, and the d
ifferent design, architecture, and construction consultants.
As delivery manager, I conducted coordination meetings, programmed the villa wor
ks, quality assured deliverance of the detailed designs, and delegated contracto
r queries to staff for swift answers.
Post Beach Villa project, I was assigned the delivery project manager role for t
he Marina District on the Island. The Marina District is the largest district o
n the Island and will be developed into the Saadiyat Island downtown. As delive
ry manager my responsibilities comprised of internal disciplinary design coordin
ation, day-to-day task assignment to the transportation group, tracking project
progress thru all design disciplines, attending client, subcontractors and Parso
ns supervisory meetings discussing project development and progress, and QA/QC o
f design documents prior to project tendering.
Saadiyat Island is separated into several districts, of which I participated in
managing several small General Contracts. These included temporary utility servi
ce connections, lighting design/construction work, public realm grading work, an
d five-star resort design/construction coordination.

As Senior Project Engineer my responsibilities included the design and quality a
ssurance/quality control (QA/QC) of the site design for the Operation and Mainte
nance Center (OMC) building, the access roads to the proposed portal building on
the east and west end of the tunnel, and utility relocation at the OMC site.
Additionally, responsibilities for this project included the day-to-day oversigh
t of the design for the electrical layout of the Tunnel Operating System (TOS) f
or the 4th bore and the upgrade of the 3rd bore. As day-to-day senior project e
ngineer I directed a four person team to deliver the TOS package on time.

As Senior Project Engineer my responsibilities included the specific review of t
he plan and profile submittal of section 1 of the project-Kennedy Interchange, a
.k.a. Spaghetti Junction in Louisville, Kentucky. The review consisted of makin
g sure all geometric information is correct, clearly identified, and no major ge
ometric anomalies exist for construction purposes, and ensuring that the Kentuck
y Transportation Cabinet's design practices were applied correctly to the design

As Senior Project Engineer my duties consists of a confluence of highway design,
bridge structure design, highway review, bridge structure review, and lead liai
son for the project manager in regards to coordination of the I-465/US 40 interc
hange.
My first duty for this particular project was the preparation of bridge suppleme
ntal documentation for the Structure Size and Type submittal to the Indiana Depa
rtment of Transportation (INDOT). I worked on the documents for several bridge
structures as well as taught a junior engineer how to complete the documentation
when my responsibilities increased to designing components of three bridge stru
ctures along I-465.
While designing the steel beams of three bridge structures and teaching a new CA
D tech the nuances of bridge detailing for a US 136 bridge submittal, I was resp
onsible for the review of highway geometric calculations, highway super-elevatio
n calculations and highway drainage calculations. Additionally, I was asked to
oversee the completion of the I-465/US 40 interchange for the Preliminary Field
Check submittal.
The I-465/US 40 interchange work consisted of: coordinating work along US 40-per
formed by others-with the mainline work along I-465, overseeing a team of junior
engineers, and making sure each submitted construction document met the stringe
nt QA\QC review process.

Design engineer responsible for the design of a 60-foot single span pre-stressed
box girder bridge. The design included the use of State approved bridge softwa
re and ODOT bridge design manuals. The bridge called for the use of an asphalt
cover and I needed to design/depict the correct amount of asphalt needed on the
deck that accounted for the camber in the beams and sag in the profile. All CAD
work was completed on Microstation by me.
