Manufacturing Company, Santa Ana, California 2009 to Present
A $40 million dollar manufacturing company that specializes in Advanced Intercon
nection solutions for customers with high reliability end use applications. Prov
iding Printed Wiring Board: design support, manufacturing and assembly.
Human Resource Manager (2009 to 2010) - Manage all human resource activities for
staff of 280+ employees working in 12 departments generating revenues in excess
of $ 40 million annually. Coordinates all aspects of Human Resources while rei
nforcing company policies and procedures, as well as enforcing, state and federa
l laws. Provides daily administration and resolution of employee relations, poli
cies and procedures, benefits and compensation issues for internal and external
customers. I have (1) Direct report (safety coordinator) and we work very close
developing and carrying out procedures that effectively control accident and hea
lth exposures in the company.
Accomplishments include:
* Devised creative and cost-effective incentive and morale-boosting programs. Cu
rrently implementing a new monthly performance recognition process. Over the pas
t 5 months this program has resulted in a slight reduction in employee turnovers
by 5% compared to last year. Manufacturing metrics show there is also an increa
se in productivity levels.
* Instrumental in promoting the use of Performance Management Teams which is a c
oncept I utilized at Hydraflow. Cross departmental teams are effective in reduci
ng customer escapes and enhance overall quality/productivity levels in the shop.
* Reduced employee absenteeism to less than 2% and eliminated non-genuine sick d
ays by designing and implementing a "no-fault+ absenteeism program which rewarde
d employees with lump sum payouts of unused sick leave for the year.
* Fostered a teamwork/open-door environment conducive to positive dialogue acros
s the organization.
* Brought worker's compensation program into full compliance. Instituted preferr
ed providers list, trained managers and associates on procedures to follow in ca
se of injury.
* Developed company's first-ever standardized disciplinary procedures to insulat
e company from legal risk and ensure consistent and fair disciplinary process.
* Created new Safety training program. Ensured all associates trained annually u
nder company and OSHA guidelines resulting in reduced recordable accidents.

HYDRAFLOW, INCORPORATED 1996 to 2008
Hydraflow, Inc. a $50 million dollar design/manufacturing company that engineers
aerospace and defense system components. Product lines include flexible fluid c
ouplings, threaded, and spherical flange couplings for military, commercial, and
other high technology industry applications.
Human Resource Generalist (2001 to 2008) - Developed/implemented the HR processe
s for this company including new HRMS database. Managed a broad range of HR func
tions including benefits/profit sharing plan enrollment and administration, pers
onnel file managements, HR policy development, employee screening/hiring/orienta
tion, and staff training/development programs.
Human Resource Generalist / Quality Compliance Manager (1997 to 2001) - Conceptu
alized and implemented AS-9100 and Boeing D1-9000 quality systems. Instrumental
in effectively leading change when the new quality systems were imposed by train
ing shop personnel on IS-9001 and D1-9000 requirements. Designed and implemented
the first internal audit process which included all: procedures, training curri
culum and audit checklists. Supervised and trained 9 direct reports who were res
ponsible for performing internal audits.
Quality Administrator (1996 to 1997) - Developed ISO 9001 Quality System. Parti
cipated in gap analysis and assisted in the development of 200 procedures and wo
rk instructions. Participated on ISO steering committee. Provided administrative
support for Quality Department. Performed external audits and desk audits for s
uppliers. Developed first article forms and other computerized forms for the ins
pection department. Maintained calibration data base and recall process. Create
d first internal soldering training program and trained solder inspection person
nel on acceptance criteria.
Accomplishments for Hydraflow include:
* Minimized agency recruitment costs by 15%. Reduced temporary employee turnove
rs by 35% by developing effective training/communication programs.
* Reduced employee turnover by 15% and significantly increased productivity by i
ntroducing a performance management system that recognized contribution, challen
ged staff to accept responsibility and empowered them to make decisions.
* Developed and implemented a solder training program which reduced solder defec
ts by 35%. Introduced solder pots into the environment for wire tinning resultin
g in 50% reduction in time necessary to tin wire
* To date Hydraflow is still utilizing the company newsletter that I created, tr
aining process, and the supervisor rotation program that I was instrumental in p
utting into place in 2006.
