Atlanta Celebrates Photography Administrative Assistant Job Description (temporary position)

Description: Work closely with the Executive Director and Program Manager to interact hands-on with ACP constituents.
Be involved in producing programs, organizing volunteer efforts, and developing relationships with the media. This
position will also lend administrative support to the Executive Director . (learn more about ACP at www.ACPinfo.org ).

Qualifications: Self motivated, reliable, thorough, detail oriented, computer savvy (preferably PC), organized, works well
as a team member, passion for photography, available for evening /weekend events (particularly during September and
October), has some understanding of marketing and event planning. Must be an eloquent, friendly and effective
communicator. College Degree required. Advanced degree preferred. At least two years relevant experience required.

Salary: ACP is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, The salary is in keeping with industry norms for this position at $14/hr.

Hours: 24 hours/week for approx. 4 months (17 weeks). July 11 – November 4 .

Responsibilities:
Administrative Support

Assist the Executive Director or self-manage multiple projects and initiatives as needed.

Maintain client database.

Perform a wide variety of assignments and reporting, staff and operational support including administrative tasks
such as filing, faxing, making copies, routing phone calls, doing research and answering basic inquiries. Some of
the work performed will be confidential in nature.

Program Assistant

Be the point person and liaison to the Executive Director in coordination and implementation of such programs as:
Portfolio Review, My Atlanta, Diversity Initiatives, Outreach (Youth) and Public Art.

Makes travel, logistical and lodging arrangements for visiting guests.

Volunteer Coordinator

Coordinate volunteer efforts/needs/communication in an efficient and professional manner.

Public Relations

Working with the Program Manager, this assignment will manage and grow ACP’s relationships with the local,
regional and international press and will include responsibility for preparation of media packets and writing and
distribution of press releases.
Responsible for obtaining images (and relevant permissions) from participating speakers and artists for use on
web and in print.

Work with Executive Director and Marketing Committee to develop and execute annual Marketing Plan.

Board Support

Attend Board and Committee meetings as needed. Lend back-up support to committees as needed (these tasks
will be directed by the Executive Director).
