Fund of hedge funds with $350 million AUM. Team consisted of 12 employees with i
nvestments in 30-35 hedge funds.
Director of Research & Quantitative Analysis (2008-2009)
Directed all aspects of analysis, research, and evaluation of new hedge fund man
agers offering potential investments in a wide variety of areas, including equit
y portfolios, foreign exchange trading, distressed investing, fixed income, glob
al macro, short-term trading, event-driven, real estate, and commodities. Develo
ped strategies, processes, and models to obtain higher quality, objective data t
hat led to accurate fund manager recommendations. Held full authority for entire
due diligence process and served as the main point of contact for sales/marketi

* Coordinated efficient and thorough analysis of more than 1,000 hedge fund mana
gers annually, recommending managers that accounted for 46% of the portfolio.
* Spearheaded development of the Iron Risk Identification System (IRIS) that inc
reased understanding of the exposures and positions in the portfolio and standar
dized risk evaluation. Program used Pivot tables in Excel to define exposure acc
ording to geography, asset class, security type, strategy, and industry.
* Initiated creating of the Hedge Fund Taxonomy System that provided an indexed
and liquid portfolio of fund exposures, allowing daily P&L to be analyzed and ge
nerating critical information for evaluating new funds.
* Established Fiduciary Scorecard system that used specific questions to create
a score and rank of hedge fund managers, allowing standardized evaluation that c
ould be tracked over time and by multiple employees.

Initially recruited to provide analysis and quantitative evaluation of potential
hedge fund investments, and ultimately gained authority of due diligence proces
