CareFusion is a global corporation serving the health care industry with product
s and services that help hospitals measurably improve the safety and quality of
care. CareFusion was formed from the divestiture of Cardinal Healthcare.
V.P. Manufacturing & Sourcing (2009-2010)
Provided operational leadership and strategic oversight in the manufacturing and
sourcing of V. Mueller instrumentation with managerial responsibility for a sta
ff of over 300. Assumed responsibility for supporting the new organization and o
perations after the divestiture of CareFusion from Cardinal Health.
* Facilitated Lean Six Sigma transformation throughout manufacturing, procuremen
t, and inspection operations to reduce waste, create space, and improve operatio
nal efficiencies resulting in a reduction in working capital and overhead.
* Successfully negotiated a new 3PL distribution agreement with Cardinal Health
resulting in a cost plus agreement with a less than 5% margin for Cardinal.
* Saved an incremental $2 million per year with the development of a strategic p
lan focused on the consolidation of operations in two manufacturing facilities.
* Served as a key member of the guidance counsel team, providing direction of te
am efforts in the implementation of the new SAP 6.0 ERP system.
V.P. Manufacturing (Cardinal Health, 2004-2009)
Direct responsibility for the efficient operation and seamless execution of manu
facturing, sourcing, customer service, and distribution functions for the V. Mue
ller instrumentation business with additional responsibility for the Special Pro
cedures biopsy and diagnostics manufacturing product line with revenues of $250
million. Accountable for the operational performance and staff of eight sites, d
efining the strategic direction for the future supply chain network and leading
the execution against that plan.
* Orchestrated the consolidation of two facilities utilizing lean techniques to
ensure cohesive operations while simultaneously outsourced two main product line
s to save $2 million per year in operational costs.
* Secured favorable tax position and significantly lowered costs with the transf
er of product lines to international facilities, resulting in an excess of $5 mi
llion in annual savings.
* Generated $1 million in annual savings with the outsourcing of a former intern
al product line to an external supplier in China.
* Consolidated international operations in Germany allowing for increased operat
ional capabilities in the areas of procurement, quality inspection, and labeling

Ensured organizational effectiveness by providing leadership for the manufacturi

d revenue. Directly responsible for the efficient management of four manufacturi
ng sites with facilities in Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and the U.S.
* Developed external manufacturing partnership with a supplier in China for a ne
w product line in the Thermal business, contributing to $4 million in incrementa
l revenue in its first year, ultimately growing to revenues of $9 million. Colla
borated with the supplier supplier in to implement a new assembly operational pr
ocess, successfully implementing operations within ten months.
* Led all aspects of the construction of a new manufacturing facility to produce
disposable biopsy devices from the procurement of the land and building through
to the design and construction of the facility.
V.P. Manufacturing, Operations and Logistics (1999-2001)
Full responsibility for the coordination and production planning of $700 million
in finished goods and an inventory valued at $160 million. Defined and controll
ed manufacturing service levels through all domestic and international sales cha
nnels with responsibility for overall manufacturing planning, freight and wareho
using operations, and both internal and contracted replenishment center efforts.
* Led the business side of the ERP deployment system implementation efforts (SAP
's Advanced Planning Optimization- APO)
* Achieved 19% cost reductions in freight and warehousing totaling approximately
$5 million in savings.
* Reduced inventory and increasing inventory turns from three to four turns annu
ally.

Managerial responsibility for a manufacturing plant with 130 associates producin
g bone and soft tissue biopsy devices and diagnostic trays.
